Shouldn't allow for people to abuse the system at all. Only positive ratings and a report system should be in place, to prevent this, plus why do you need a downvote system in the first place? So you can technically shit on other servers for zero cost what-so-ever?

yes please i want to report these guys who are downvoting me for no reason AND leaving comments on my server saying how 'terrible' it is

EDIT: @ everyone telling me to get my friends to undownvote them, I own 2 communities with too many members to control, I did my part and +1'd everyone as a fellow server owner.
I don't imagine your players will come +1 me so I don't really wanna talk about this anymore it's not gonna go anywhere good, The bigger communities are gonna be on page one, that's how it is.

This site has turned into whose user base can be more toxic than the other. Looks weird having a bunch of servers with less than 5 people playing be the "top servers". I hope more people join in and help disrupt this antipathetic route it's taking.
Removing the downvotes all together and only having upvotes (as said prior) would solve the problem.
Either that or autodetect vote spam & ban them or something.

I actually have told EVERYONE on my forums and teamspeak not to bother any servers but our own, I can't control everyone so I'd appreciate it if you just let it go as I'm not interfering with any of you.

It shouldn't be a problem to pass anyone elses servers if you have a good playerbase, so fighting and making a big deal over this website is irrelevant.

We should get some cool stuff upvoted so there's more variety

Get your players to vote for your servers... It's not like I did anything special I made a freaking forum post to go vote...
I think we should give credit when due. Had N/A not done this we wouldn't have seen such a major flaw till later.

as far as removing downvotes altogether, I think it would help but it wouldn't fix the problem. instead, I'll make it so that people can only make one or two votes a day, that way people can't spam upvotes /or/ downvotes. when I put this update up, I'll reset everyone's votes too.
and with comments, the double posts are a bug that I'm working on, and I'll add a way to delete comments eventually

On another note, it should be reflected if you undid a vote (maybe search if recent logs match X server, and if action is contrary to the posted one, delete former?)

I know your perspective is different to mine since it's YOUR servers on the front page, but do you genuinely not see any issues with the image I posted?
Like, it's not just about my server (all I've submitted is one and it's pretty small), it just feels really unwelcoming, in my opinion
Also I personally think it's a bit eye-brow raising to get people from your own community to post feedback and uprate. I don't care what your regulars think of your server, they're going to like it and provide biased opinion; I'm more interested in hearing what other Facepunchers and random users have to say, because it's a unique perspective and one I'll be able to relate to
What's the point of the site even existing if already big communities can push their way to the top with their already existing userbase?

Guys have you not ever seen my servers... I have 2 forums with 10,000 members on each, it's not like they're small I had no intentions on taking over the homepage... I saw people downvoting me so I downvoted back how is that not expected?
Why can we even see who downvotes that's just asking for problems anyway, anyone with a large community need only make a post and get votes, I've done nothing malicious or wrong, I saw an opportunity and I took it.

All I did was inform everyone who was looking at your servers that you were downvoting everyone. Also not once did I call you a dick (Granted I now think that). Don't take the moral high ground, you started this by downvoting every single server including ones that haven't even made a single vote (such as Zeaga from R/Gmod) so don't say you were "Just downvoting those who did it to me". All you have done is lie on this thread, if you don't even care anymore then stop replying and making a fool of yourself.
