But when you downvote every server then yes it would make a difference and make your servers appear higher in the list (for an example look at the front page).

You all know you would have done exactly the same thing he did, don't lie. I've personally seen his servers with well over 400 on at once, and both of his communities have 10K+ users each.. why would he not take the front page?

If he just had his players go on and upvote his server I'm sure no-one would have given a shit. Also these sites are generally for low playerbase servers who are looking for popularity and what not. I personally wouldn't have done that as I'm not immature and if I did intend to do that I wouldn't be sitting here bitching and being a hypocrite, would I?

People weren't even voting like that until his servers went up there anyway. One of my servers was #1 for 2 minutes then suddenly his took over the whole page & I got downvoted to page 4; I'm not sitting here bitching. [img]http://puu.sh/dma49/7336bd0570.png[/img]

I saw that I was not allowed to add any servers I don't own... And I followed the rules lol

Add on top the screenshots earlier of staff asking their members to upvote and it just creates an extremely unpleasant atmosphere, especially when your side doesn't even attempt to take into consideration the feelings of others. Like, if you genuinely cannot see an issue with the entire front page being your own stuff then either you're severely lacking in self-awareness or just completely selfish This site could be something really awesome, a way to discover new servers or gamemodes, give feedback and let smaller servers have a little boost that they desperately need to get off the ground. Within a day, people're downvoting each other out of spite and getting friends to support them, worst is knowing it's probably not going to get better. If it's just going to be big gaming communities jerking each other off, then fuck it, whatever, I'll take my leave from this thread as it's clearly not for me at this current stage

Why would you allow more than one upvote/person/server? That's literally asking for me & four friends to spam the vote button of my favourite server every day. Soon, someone will code a script to do it automatically. There's no upside at all for that option.

Yeah, I'm out too. Im fed up of arguing with liars trying to take that moral high ground (fun right). That and with my server getting downvoted people who see it are gonna think "oh that's a pretty shit server, not gonna go there" just because of a few immature server owners with a god complex.

I already posted that I'm reworking the votes now and that I'll reset votes and comments on the next update [editline]8th December 2014[/editline] I got rid of downvotes, but I still have to limit upvotes to one per day, should be done soon! [editline]8th December 2014[/editline] and it's ready for testing! you guys get one vote every 24 hours, so use it wisely! if you do vote on a server, you can still remove/readd your vote during that 24 hours, but other than that, you gotta wait. I'm also removing all votes and comments, so hopefully that'll get rid of some of the drama that's come up. let me know if you guys have any issues!

for some reason, the warning about voting more than once is only showing for me, but if you try to vote for two servers and then refresh you'll see that your vote doesn't stay

People like you give bad light to an already poor game community. You don't have to abuse your position to promote things, you know, right?

I have to say, this system is barely better than the current one. Both can be easily corruptible since the bigger communities will ALWAYS triumph over the smaller ones looking to get big because the big communities will reel while the smaller ones will be unable to compete. In my opinion removing the downvote button would be best, if they honestly had an issue with the server they could post it in the comments instead. Keep the upvote button though.
