I usually try to build something constructive, which never works. So I then begin nuking random things, blowing up my previous creation, posing ragdolls in amazing perfection and never take pictures of it, ever, fly airplanes and the WAC helicopters (which now decide to flip as soon as you start it up, fuck that), pose more ragdolls, set thins on fire as if they just re-entered from space, launch multi stage rockets in space and then blow up a nuke as soon as it hits the top of a map, sail boats around, explore new maps, toybox stuff like the predator missile, recreate D-Day where I have a machine gun and I win, alone, roleplay with npc's alone and voice each one of them (yes I do this too, everyone does, if you say you don't you are a liar), make some cool looking testing thing for god knows what, fix the infrastructure in roleplay maps (such as power lines, utillities like gas and water, the works) build a bridge and see how it holds up, then blow it up anyways while everything is on it, and burn stuff in buildings and nuking it once again to be sure. Maybe nuking that again just to be sure that I am sure, and then questioning that too.

I only go to single to test models, maps, or addons for my server. Sometimes to test dangerous e2 chips that might end up spawning something on tick if i typo a line.

Usually i fiddle with WIREMOD addon. Although my contraptions may be quite complex, they rarely find any use.
I once built a pretty complex bank system with ram cards.
An DEC to BIN to HeX converter with only wire gates. (Also learned BIN and HEX in the process.)
Built an extremly unoptimized auto-builder with E2 concmd and setpos for the entity to fly in front of me and automatically build a chipset board.
I rarely do anything else on garrysmod, i rarely play online (except for the time to time TTT)
Load up evocity 33x and usually rp like a giant construction zone and have some fun :P

Well, there are a few things I do...
I usually build my contraptions at home in advance, then adv. duplicate them to bring them to wire servers. It works better that way cuz no one is there to bother you.
I also mess around with shit in the toybox like most people here.
But byfar my most favorite thing to do is spawn a bunch of Combine units and face them... With nothing but a squad of 4 rebels (and quite frequently a mingetraption close by)

Usually I tend to play on big maps with plenty of detail and I walk around with a third person addon and just explore. Once in awhile I fuck around by going ragdoll all over the ground cause I find it funny having myself fall over a ledge or down the stairs.

Almost. I also like to download maps from ToyBox, i have 223 now.
I loved making npc wars, I got plenty of addons dedicated to the purpose of it, npc squad tool, npc movement, health setting. I'd make wooden barricades and such for rebels in parts of gm_bigcity, and I'd have like a big combine base with watchtowers and such at the water treatment plant usually. Then I would move them out and into position. Oh those were the days, then Garry fucked up the lighting and ruined it by breaking the npcs sounds and making them all shinyer then edward.
Make a small RC car with turrets and a camera. (phx RT screen FTW)
Also i use the elevator model as a control booth.

Having those ragdolls it's near impossible to get bored.
Jumping around and thinking what to do next.

Make cars with spinny blades and kill zombies.
Then make bigger cars with spinnier blades and kill antlion guards.
I usually set up some scene with some guards in it and stuff, i make myself some gadgets and i perform heists for fun. trust me, its super awesome !!! if you want suggestions, here are some: make huge armored truck and perform heist on it, create huge airplane and perform heist on that, build little bank or huge (how much time you have to build stuff, depends) and perform heist on that. its so fun to come up with your own gadgets and your own goals !!! another thing i love to do is to place guards in buildings, turning on some song like Feuer Frei (rammstein) or du hast (rammstein) and turn on slo-mo. it feels so badass to kill guards with crazy music !!!
