I had to change my name to cyrillic because every time I went to a new server I would be teleported to hell and back and then people wouldn't stop talking to me when I was trying to do something else. Now I'm left alone unless I talk first OR I get preemptively banned.

The Cyrillic helps because people assume I'm foreign and usually leave me alone. Also the people who usually teleport other people around dont realize how to use copy paste, alternate input, or an IME. It allows me to go on servers without administrators and have a jolly good time without the typical annoyances. Also many terrible administrators also have no idea how to do anything to anybody without an english name. The few times I get preemptively banned are the places I know are going to be terrible anyway.

I've heard you normally have to do your changes, pack up everything, and ship it all to workshop even if it's just a few files.

Plus, I missed the days when people had to go into the effort of knowing how to use SVN to get some of their addons. People known how to do things during then. people running coderhire scripts for their stupid vip shit its like you have to host a server yourself to get any solid play without any bullshit bloaty addons, its like every fucking server has pointshop or some addon like it. also p2w shit and just general addons which are ass. That's what gets me mad, and ruined gmod in my experience, there's nothing original, just a bunch of faggot running terrible servers for the sake of getting kids to donate with their mother's credit card.

People who think every server owner cares about the opinion of Facepunch members and wants their approval. Some owners just want to provide some fun and don't care about being original, who'd have guessed! People who complain about stuff they can easily avoid. An admin acted like a twat? Cool, go find another server and move on. People who complain about Coderhire but don't even attempt to provide an alternative or release free content. How many users here who complain about servers being non-original actually bothered to try out Slave of Gmod or any of the gamemodes posted in the Releases thread? Like, as I've said before, I understand why people are annoyed and such, but instead of complaining about stuff that probably isn't going to change, go do something productive! Code something unique, release free items, help out other people, etc.

Let's say a server uses Advanced Duplicator from workshop, then DarkRP printers from workshop. There's a big difference. People would obviously not bitch about the Advanced Duplicator being from the server, but theres a slight chance they would bitch about the DarkRP Printers being from the workshop.
