Not being able to play for 2 weeks after update because the game crashes after every startup. :suicide:

Notable example is when a friend of mine decided that she wanted to take a shot at making weapons with the SWEP Construction Kit which resulted in a decent weapon pack and the eight-bit weapons that are on the workshop. In a thread she made for people to make suggestions, this guy commented with something along the lines of: "What I want to see is more realistic weapons. All that's been on the workshop are SCK guns and TTT weapons, I want to see more guns made with M9K. There haven't been any good M9K weapons in forever. Seriously though if you could make a sniper rifle or desert eagle, that'd be cool." This comment on an addon that isn't meant to be realistic at all. Then there was this amazing response to a comment I made on a different addon: [t]http://i.imgur.com/IACHAlv.png[/t] It's like he's under the impression that realistic weapons are some sort of extinct addon form, like they never get uploaded at all which is just fucking wrong in every way since that's usually all that gets uploaded besides the usual content. Also that bit about "high quality M9K SWEPs" should probably be read as "shitty, slapped together gamebanana bullshit". It's like, if you want a realistic weapon that bad, go download one of the millions of AKs or L96s on the workshop. Realistic weapons are perfectly fine, don't get me wrong, but this guy's treating it like there's nothing realistic on the workshop. Meanwhile CW 2.0 is exploding with new weapons frequently (thank god). /rant tl;dr M9K fanboys

It's pretty apparent that he did not meet that goal. Didn't stop the kiddies from taking more skins from GB and slapping them onto that base with titles like "MARINESNYPERTRICKSHOT'S HYPER REALISTIC WEAPONS ON M9K (TTT, DarkRP, Sandbox)".

It is really annoying that the base has a bad rep due to darkrp servers and such, and if the scopes were fixed then the pack would be so much better. I remember back when Spy posted a video of him basically abusing some of the bugs and glitches with my base, which was why I pushed myself to fix them. Inconcievable should revisit the thing and perhaps recode it, like i'm doing right now. And maybe also learn a bit more about model animation, because gmod has a c_model system, so people should learn about how to use it instead of using those terrible looking css/hl2 hands. Doesn't help that the rig of the hands is really stupid. I can barely rotate the thumb without the whole thing having some really odd spikes but that's a different rant. I know I bitch about that a ton, but it's just something that kind of seems extremely wrong to me, the fact that there's little to no creativity in a game that lets you do just about anything. Garry's Mod could be used to do so much more than it is right now in every area, but the potential's going largely unused. Also, c_models are something worth kind of ranting about. I'm glad that they exist, they make the game stand out a lot more from its HL2 roots and look a lot more polished, but there's one thing that really kind of fucked me over with some of my weapons; the lack of an actual c_fist model. If you haven't already taken a look at the fist weapon built into the game, there's no actual c_fists model. This means nothing to some people, but to me it means that in order to port over the gauntlet weapons I've made, if that's even an option, I've gotta do a LOT of probably buggy jerry-rigging to get them ported from the custom v_fists to the c_hands or else just leave them as HEV fists and have my weapons pack look kind of sloppy.

However that can be fixed by decompiling the original c_fists and recompiling a copy with the hand mesh in it. Like that, you could use the swep construction kit on those, but in your actual code you point towards the original c_fists.

What's wrong with having many hooks?
having a chaotic clusterfuck of stuff and redundant code? :v: most of that stuff almoost does the same thing as the rest and it just becomes horrible when you're looking for something. But hey, ulx is free and it works so it can do what ever it wants. ( no I don't use ulx because I heavily dislike it and most of the people that use it )

I'm just saying the way they're using them I find irresponsible, if something slight in ulib breaks your entire server breaks. They should keep things centralized with error handling. Here's something that's making me mad. I've had users complain to me saying I have backdoors in my addons, most notably my Halo 3 Spartans pack. When I looked at their profile, I noticed they don't have Gmod. So one of two things are happening 1) They're lying 2) Someone who reuploaded my stuff on different websites are putting backdoors in them

The lengths people go to try to make their servers slightly more unique. This guy offered me 75 bucks and a rank in his community for my killcam script... It would've been a waste of effort to only have that addon used by one server that I have no connection to

Since the latest update on the workshop you can now let people know when they require an item for your addons. It fixed most of my problems with stupid people. [img]http://i.imgur.com/BkoUSbE.png[/img]
