Having the inspiration and the time to code. But have no idea how to code.

If you have time and inspiration then maybe... I don't know... LEARN how to code?

Most people don't want to spend hours or weeks to learn something they probably only need or want once.

It's a skill that can be transferred to other areas.

The thing is, that Lua may be a minute language in the grand scheme of programming. But, the basic concepts you learn can be transferred to almost any programming language. After this, learning a new language isn't hard it's just getting used to the syntax and API.

I completely agree, yesterday someone asked for help with a javascript thing they were writing, and I'd never touched javascript in my life, and yet I managed to help them using only my knowledge of lua and some basic syntax rules I picked up.

Indeed. I know around 8-9 programming languages and can confirm that learning a new language is much easier after you get some experience with your first one (I started with Pascal, lol). Also it gets progressively easier if you're learning a language that's very similar to one you know already (C and C++, all .NET languages etc).
This guy and his workshop

I was posing comments about the truth of his workshop stuff and he blocked me.
He has as many subscribers as I do

The reason he blocked you is because he's too afraid to accept the truth. He's going into the first stage of grief.

Yeah, he's the worst kind of person. The kind that thinks making sound guns is a herculean task, that everyone shares the same stupid outdated sense of humor and taste in music that he does, and that can't take any sort of criticism. Back when he was spamming sound guns left and right, I begged him to just upload them all into one addon that gets new guns instead of flooding the same gun with a different sound over and over. He DID do that...and then promptly forgot about it as he continued spamming wastes of code onto the workshop. He also has that weird typing quirk thing where he puts ellipses...after every few words...like he's trying...to be really edgy... Quite frankly, I just straight up hate him and how he functions. All he does is make shitty addons that take up space and inspires other idiots to do the same thing and will never in a million years listen to what people with more than half a brain actually have to say.
You know, I can honestly imagine him typing to himself in some diary every night like:
Dear diary...i made another sound gun today...i worked really hard on it...but i did it...it was a skrillex gun...skrillex is life...i got hate comments tho...so i blocked them...they just don't understand...how hard it is...to be a coder...

I finally clicked on this because youtube was ignoring my Blocked Channels extension. It was a horrible, horrible decision. These guys were confused as to why fucking Bonnie Rebel NPC reskins weren't attacking each other. Bonus points for fake reactions, thousands of "I killed Fucknugget" videos where he drops a ragdoll into a crusher, and constantly calling the physgun the gravity gun.
Worst part is that he's probably making well over a couple thousand dollars a video for fucking with FREE mods.

That look on his face.
"the money may not flow as much as I expected with YouTube"
Mods these days on the workshop are nothing but (player)models from games, and citizen NPC reskins with demos / saves / dupes mixed in.

How 12 year olds call them self developers, when they basically edit configurations.
The player base of gmod has changed from friendly people who could actually read the rules and look at someone without shooting them in the head to little kids who can just about read the rules

How can you seriously be dressed like that on a face cam...
that guy has an extremely punchable face
I think he must just be extremely punchable in general
I have tried to host classes for teaching people how to use wiremod, and tricks regarding building and all on DarkRP servers, and I constantly have admins threatening me for, "Promoting building!" not joking.

You must donate to be allowed to have imagination.
Or in the case with AuroraRP, you must never criticize the admins or ask of them to quit being a jackass. Because that would be disrespectful, and us server plebians cannot disrespect the oh-great and powerful admins.
Note of Reminder: In case of GMod server bug which allows players to enter other servers regardless of bans, goto Aurora RP with tank, and commit genocide.

It's like we're living in a game-dystopia where Creativity is considered a thought crime.
That's something I kind of want to talk about actually. There's been a few more SWEP Construction Kit-made weapon addons springing up as of recently, and while that's generally a really good thing since it means more creative shit being uploaded as opposed to server content and model ports, the comment sections are filled with 12 year olds saying "urrrhh dese modals ar ugly adn gay wher r the ionr sights use gambanenedna". This doesn't seem like much, but it can completely turn new people off to SCK, which means less creative uploads, which leads to the same, boring fucking workshop we all hate. I know a lot of the SCK addons being uploaded are sort of basic, but it's something that can inspire people to learn more about lua, which would lead to much better addons. It's absolutely enraging seeing shit like:

...on addons made by new coders that want to make something that isn't a stupid, boring, unoriginal fucking AK47 mod that we've seen 800,000 fucking times before and hate to death that only ever gets made because stupid fucking kids want a creative game to be a boring, uninspired, shit military shooter.

I respect the guy for his other content, but THIS. WHY.
I just got banned from a server for basically setting up a camera tower which spied into someones house from across a street, and an admin flipped out and banned me for being a "smartass"
So um, this was just uploaded to the Workshop:
