I especially just [I][B]love[/B][/I] shit like when I throw a knife expecting it to instant kill, and it deals 50 damage. And a normal slash with the knife is unconditional instant kill.

That French police car skin that claims to be original on the workshop.
They took a white texture, put "POLICE" in white with a blue background and called it a day.
They say you can't use it because there's a watermark, I looked at the texture and there's none other than on the workshop picture.
I told them, nope, comment removed.

I did try to introduce these guys to a fun gamemode, but there's just too many people who can't commit to Gmod/don't have the attention span and just think of it as one of those quick games they can play for like an hour and fuck around in and/or troll.

We need an entire thread dedicated to these things.
Server owners who put time into gamemodes (months or years) get little to no players at all while all the bigger communities that literally take and rename DarkRP and fill it with M9K and paid addons get all the players. This was sadly the case of SilverIan (if you dont know him, you wont know his gamemode). Oh yea.. also 10 year olds.
I think a lot of people in the gmod community would benefit from keeping a blog

At this point we need to come up with a contingency plan just so that the essential uses of Garry's mod can be salvaged.
We need a plan to lose the interest of 8 year old kids long enough that they will move on to another game, while creative people can come back from out of the woodwork and take back control.
What do kids hate the most? School.
I think what we need is an overly long and convoluted tutorial that will drive away mingebags and still entice mature players.

How do you plan on proving players under 13 without being a weirdo?
I've actually had an idea for this.
We could create a sort of dark-net for garrysmod, which essentially means create a bunch of servers that require some sort of script or something to see. Since these servers would be invisible to the public, the mingebags and kids probably won't find out about them or stay the fuck away because they would have to make an effort to search for the script, or they would be too dumb to know how to install scripts.

In theory, most servers are committing tax evasion and money laundering schemes anyway. At least in the United States and Europe.
Reading the last few pages of this makes me really fucking happy I 'quit' garrysmod when I did, seems the community just got more and more toxic and dumb as time went on.
All the while a friend is trying to coax me back into it.

I really want to change this perception, It really annoys me and makes me look like some sort of minge/troll alongside the rest of the community, I think trying to invite more people to the server and get people interested in the propkill gamemode to see what its like is helping though. Also I'm thinking about asking the creator of the gamemode to change it to "prop-warfare" instead of "propkill" because of the negative connotations that the name holds...

Not going to happen, even I couldn't make a big change in the perception of prop killing. It's not until people personally see what the skills involved are that they even consider that prop killing can be more than just minging around.

Don't forget gambling laws! Many servers let you buy DarkRP money which you can then use in in-game poker and other similar gambling stuff. Illegal as fuck without a gambling license.
Life in prison with no parole to these servers owners.
I was playing on a gmod server one time, and the co-owner (he was about 9 mind you) kept changing the map to be nighttime. Another player was with me, and we both told the co-owner to stop changing it to nighttime. We both got kicked shortly after for "yelling at an admin". I then rejoined and decided I wanted to build in the road. The co-owner said he was going to build in the road and he told me to get out of the road. I continued to build in the road, and I got kicked for not listening to the co-owner. Why couldn't he fucking build somewhere else instead of the road? Sandbox servers with bad owners really make me cringe.

Sounds to me like you just have a problem with following basic instruction. You should have probably found a different server if you didn't like what the guy who pays for it is doing with it.
