For some reason your scripts didn't work for me when I tried testing them on a server with the pin-ATMs. Like it would load in singleplayer, but not in multiplayer, even if SE and Allowlua were allowing clientside addons. Also another thing which is getting on my nerves lately is how people interrupt story-telling about Old' GMod to bitch about how Garry is fucking up the game apparently. Like I was having a talk with someone who I have known since GMod 9, and some random guy kept bitching about how Garry ruined a perfect game[GMod 12].

Serious RP, fuck you and your shitty restrictive rules. If I can't RP as a crimminally insane hobo mass-murderer wielding a semi-automatic shotgun or a corrupt cop with an LSD habit then I'm leaving to find another server.

Whenever I go stay with my dad for a the weekend I always have to wait half a hour before I can play Gmod because it has to update all of my addons. I really wish there was a option to disable auto-updating addons.

I want to play on my favorite rp server but most of the times people are not on or farming money

At least the economy isn't borked like 90% of them are.

Trying to find a map for singleplayer, but not finding one and opening the server browser to look for new gamemodes and be like: Meh. And then close GMOD. I just can't find any good servers or addons that make me want to play singleplayer. And, as mentioned before, the workshop is 90% crap and 10% good stuff that you can't seem to find because of all the ridiculous dupes.

How I can't even find a single vanilla server for DarkRP. I don't want madcows, I don't want Scars, I just want some old, regular RP damnit

I will admit I know jack shit when it comes to actually optimizing a map. I understand some basics, but when it comes to actually doing it.. I'm awful. The one thing though that many mappers might be doing wrong is setting no or fast VIS for compiling. It makes it ultra-fast compile but seems to cause issues regarding lag in the long run. (For those who don't know what VIS is: Assuming what I read is somewhat correct, VIS is Source's way of generally speaking chopping up the map into cubes to show what you can and cant see. Fast/no makes it make bigger chunks which are created faster, but cause you to render more. All in all it tends to be shit. Not to be confused with (I think) area portals which tell what you can and cant see based on a window. (Ex.You look in at an angle and can only see 3 of the 20 barrels hidden in a room.)

Luckily gametracker provides a better serverbrowser than gmod, so I can at least pick the ones I like first.

I hate TTT servers with more than 16 slots, everyone screams over eachother and people get away with Deathmatch. I also hate a certain monopoly on a very specific RP Gamemode that has overall brought multiple communities to there knees.

It takes forever to download, the maps are WAY too small and when you join there's always someone who's just driving around like crazy and hitting everyone. Not really worth the 30 minute download time.

On a side note: If a server only has SCARS basic, it's really not that bad to be honest. (Unless they use the addon version). Most of the time you wont even need to download anything because SCARS basic literally has like, 3 custom models. Only one of them is somewhat large. (almost) Everything else it uses is from HL2.
