I wouldn't mind them abandoning Gmod, but they didn't just abandon it:

Believe or not, gmod 13 contains a lot of improvements and fixes. The problem is that it caused new issues and disabled multicore rendering (which led to a massive slowdown). This I do agree, is something that should have been addressed a long time ago.

That's one of the worst parts about it! Gmod 13 had potential! Better player animations? Great! HD textures? Cool! Customizable playermodels? Awesome! Better looking Construct/Flatgrass? Nice! Ability to facepose NPCs & players? [B]Legendary.[/B] Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good by a ton in Gmod 13. I couldn't even list all the major problems with Gmod 13 here, there's just so much.

Don't forget that the resolution is dependent on the game the content is coming from. I'm pretty sure Garry doesn't want to go out and find replacement textures in high resolution for the plethora of textures in HL2, CS:S, etc.
(By the way, couldn't Garry have just included the regular non-burred-to-hell versions of the CS:S textures for the viewmodels (Backup textures that is)? I mean, he already can include just about all HL2 content barring supply crates and maps.)
Speaking of gm13 problems, you cant save preset settings for tools and post processing settings anymore. The settings don't even save when a new map loads! I make cool-ass looking bloom and colour correction settings and they don't fuckin save. Pisses me off.
The lack of farming in Garry's Mod roleplay, and lack of decent culinary systems.

Basically, when a fuckton of bullets hit water it makes a fuckton of splashes. Said splashes are crazy laggy.

Does anyone at all have a fix for the Crash on Sending Client Info? I've verified my game cache, I've moved all the content to the various subfolders (materials, models, etc), I've manually downloaded all the content, I've halted unnecessary tasks (even though I was only at 20% to begin with), I've put +vgui_allowhtml 0 or whatever in my launch options....help!!

Protip: When every single person on an server bitches about crazy framerate drop on a map similar to previously described, your computer is not shit.
(Sorry if that sounded bitchy but my rig is under no circumstances shit. This was occurring on a shitty HG made map for Zombie Survival. Everyone on the official Noxious.Net server was complaining about their frame rate locking up when the bullets started flying. (We were in a sewer with waist high water) )
Most people said when the splashes started up their frame rates plummeted.
Also, I knew someone was going to comment about my post count...

I think it just loads the map, for what purpose? Just so some cityscanners fly around in the background or?

I feel your pain brother. Nothing worse than joining a server only to find that you have to download ~300 mb of donorshit which you'll never use.
On a side note: The M9K weapon packs each basically max out the addon file size. Always a pain in the ass when you have to update them.

i hate that you cant unsubscribe from all addons by one click if you want to have an addon reset
or (this bothers me when i play with different friends) that if you gotta sub to a collection, why cant you disable the collection whenever you dont want to use them instead of disabling the addons from the collection 1 by 1 each time you gotta use an other collection for another server.
for example why couldn't it be a system that collections could be enabled and disabled in my addons list like normal addons. this would help alot to get some startup boost and loading boost's
