Crashing... Except i haven't crashed in months
I'm really confused by this picture because you're showing a picture of a Steam group, but you've also searched for your friends in it, some of which are available in the screenshot on the left Were you too scared to post a screenshot of actual people in the group in case they called you out on your shit?
I think you do not understand, it was to say that the group "Lua Scripters" is full of "pseudo-coders". I used my friendlist to compare who are the "real coders" and who is in the group but is not a lua coder. Like this group "Lua tutors" where "Admins" posted Lua messages , and there is lua errors on the "Lua messages" Like this one : [lua] for k,v in pairs do(players.GetAll) if v:IsActiveTraitor() then v:Kill() v:PrintMessage(HUD_PRINTTALK, "We don't tolerate traitors") [/lua] What is the point to be in the group "Lua coder"/Lua Tutors if you can't code in Lua ?
What is the point to be in the group "Lua coder"/Lua Tutors if you can't code in Lua ?
You should probably think about what you just said, the answer to your question is contained in that line
I used my friendlist to compare who are the "real coders" and who is in the group but is not a lua coder.
welp shit guess i can't code anymore cuz i'm not on your friend list. :suicide:
welp shit guys guess we cant code anymore cuz were not on his friend list :suicide:
Yes, you should do that because you don't seems very intelligent, i didn't say ALLLLL coders are in my friend list, i compared the Coder in my friendlist and my friends who are in the Coder group.
Yes, you should do that because you don't seems very intelligent, i didn't say ALLLLL coders are in my friend list, i compared the Coder in my friendlist and my friends who are in the Coder group.
you pretty much did
I used my friendlist to compare who are the "real coders" and who is in the group but is not a lua coder.
you stated it as a one or the other, no grey area. and saying someone should kill themselves because they're not on your friends list? :suicide:
Okay I give up.
why exactly are you building a gun from scratch when in the context of 99% of RP servers you live in the middle of a city where firearms are readily available regardless of whether they are legal or not
You are taking the means of firearms production, and instead of having it readily available, you have it so players influence the supply and demand on the server.
Traitor's Cave[FastDL][Pointshop][24/7][UK] is an absolute fucking shit server. First get RDM'd, then slayed for two rounds for no reason. Well, finally spawned as Detective and it was time to kill some admins and never join the server again.
When theres a gang of rdmers that admins don't do anything about
I know this was posted a long time ago, but I thought I'd just explain my view on this. I hate, pay £10 and get admin for life! But I do agree with, and this is what we've always done, pay £12 and get 1 month of moderator, if you do well, you can apply for admin, if you do badly, you get demoted and either have to pay again or go back to VIP. If you do badly again, we just stop them being able to donate for it. Trial mods and admins are always kept an eye on by higher ups. I like this idea as it means people who might otherwise be unnoticed get a chance. Things that annoy me though? Crap admins that don't have a clue what they are doing, and who nobody supervises, and if you try and defend yourself, suddenly start shitting power out their arse and end up banning you :) There, I got it off my chest.
Paid Admins

start shitting power out their arse
Why did this make me laugh so much?
When theres a gang of rdmers that admins don't do anything about
Join a different server. [editline]2nd June 2014[/editline]
Paying for even temporary moderator status is putting those with money in power versus those who don't which is wrong.
No necessarily, as long as it's managed well it's fine, and it's when it's not managed well that it falls apart. If there is someone on the server who has helped, is loyal, works hard and doesn't break the rules, helps because they want to help, then we'd offer them moderator. But donating for trial moderator compared to applying for it, means that ( on the whole ) the ones who will donate are willing to do their best, as they've had to put something into it. I've done this with my old Tekkit Classic server, and with our new Dark RP and only once have we had a moderator who abused, and he was caught instantly and demoted. The problem is when people say, like I said, pay for admin and get it for a year. I even saw a server once that said pay for moderator for $20, features include being immune to bans. I was like WTF. + everything is logged anyway, so we check all bans as they happen and trial moderators are meant to follow up their bans with administrators if an administrator was not there to supervise it.
Lol, don't make people pay for being admin, pay them for being an one. They are doing an important job at the end of the day If someone needs to give you money for you to think that he will try to be a good admin, then that's p bad.

At the end of the day, they are the ones that want to admin. So I've got two choices, let them apply and anyone can apply and fuck it up and us have to deal with it, or make them pay a bit to help run the server, and make them more committed to doing a good job. Like I said, it's always worked in the past and it's still working now. Don't fix something that isn't broken. I could start letting people apply for it, and then I'd have to deal with everyone that signs up, acts all innocent and then abuses their power. Obviously if we know someone won't be good for the job, we'd just refund the donation and say no.
Banned for a year "admin disrespect" Well OK, to be honest i didn't know arguing that donating to get a rocket launcher at spawn was unfair is admin disrespect.

Basically they are given a copy of the server rules to read carefully then posed a number of questions that would test their actions in various situations. Questions will be about anything from obvious rulebreakers to ambiguous situations such as 2 people claiming nlr/illegal raid against each other with no concrete proof and checking console turns up only a few loosely related clues. It should sort out the people that actually know how to admin properly out from those who just want a quick power trip
- When people annoy you when you're in PAC3 editor - When Lua code you've spent ages on doesn't work
It should sort out the people that actually know how to admin properly out from those who just want a quick power trip
Nice idea, we used to do a similar thing for our original Minecraft Classic server. However, that then limits people that aren't necessarily very good at admin sits but want to learn. Ours get 1 month of moderator where they are closely watched by Admins and SA's where at the end they can apply for administrator. Gives them time to be guided on how to admin well. But then everyone has what works for them. I've never had a problem with my method, but I also know yours works as well :)
When I get demoted and banned from a server and then the server becomes popular and have more than 15 people regulary
When people call everything they code a "system". (ie. My "button system", my "chat system", my "net system", etc.)
What else do you want them to call it?
What else do you want them to call it?
It's fine for things that are actually full-scale systems, like a vehicle system, inventory system, etc. But when you get into things like a "license plate system", or stuff where it's straight forward, then it gets a bit monotonous.
but what else can you call it when on a technical level it's more or less an entity for a license plate 'system' and for an inventory it's more or less a library of functions that you use to manage a players inventory. as much as I hate the word, I have no idea what word to use, especially if someone is clueless about the technical side of things.

It's more of I just hate the word and I get tired of hearing it. As much as Acecool does try to help out people, he's kind of the source of it right now. It seems like most of everything he posts is a "system". (No offense to him, it is just where I notice it most.)
dude 'systems' have been around since the dawn of time, while Acecool doesn't help it isn't a big thing.

It just seems to be popping up in excess lately is my point.
