Roleplay in Garry's Mod makes me mad. I occasionally play DarkRP, and when I do I play it how I want. You see the one good thing about DarkRP is all the servers are practically the same. Get banned on one? Go to next!
Otherwise I play Zombie Survival. I like ZS because it's popular but not over-top popular, and it's a casual relaxed game which doesn't need 100 rules like RP or TTT.
Something which will always remain etched in my mind is an incident on FearlessRP after the crash of their servers fish market. After a riot in the main city, we had gotten reports that a younger player had been kidnapped by a group of "Anti-Fish" players and was taken to the UM on Evocity. Naturally, we responded with a small combat team that managed to break through their lines and defenses, killed off the majority of them, and broke into the hostage room in the back building in the UM facility.
What we found literally left most of us dumbfounded. We found the kid in a small cramped up cage in the corner of the room, and his player model was jutting back and forth and every time he tried to speak across the mic, it was coming out in a very mumbled and cluttered form.
We didn't know it at the time, but a lot of the "Anti-Fish" rioters were going around and loopholing the rule of FearRP to kidnap fish merchants, and they would take them to secluded areas on the map, and would subject them to 5 Minute Interval DDoS attacks, would run DOX files on them, threaten to come to their house and kill them. Most of the time the people being tortured were no older then 13... Maybe 15. The most upsetting thing about this though wasn't the fact they were being subjected to all sorts of torture and threats, but the fact that these kids wouldn't just cut their losses and leave the server, because they would have been banned for a lengthy period of time for avoiding an "RP situation" and "Disconnecting the server to avoid Hostage RP". These kids would never have been able to make a full-frontal debate against these people, as their was no way for them to prove what was happening.
We nick-named the method "Stut Torture" and honestly, its one of the few things that sorta made me stop playing RP servers for a very, very long time.
Whenever I don't follow the WAYWO for a few days and then I have to catch up on 90 posts because if I don't I'll never know what people are working on. :tinfoil:

Wait What?
There was an actual market for fish that rises and falls? And there were people going around and hunting down the people who were selling fish? WHAT?
Give me the IP now.

Market is totally crashed and has been since January 2012. You could once make more money by fishing then you could make by contrafarming. Fish could cost from $400 to $700, and because of this the market dominated across the server. Thanks to an exploit that allowed people to AFK Fish, we ended up having a market crash that pretty much sent the price of fish from $650 to $25 over night. Was fucking terrible, lot of good guys lost their clans and businesses on the server because of it.
That is just sick. Why did the admins allow it??
No one really would speak of it. Some people ended up getting blood thirsty and adopted tactics very similar to what the Anti-Fish people were doing, so it was a case of mutually assured destruction for most of the clan world at the time to say anything about it. If any admin was aware of the ongoing problems, the best they could possibly do was get someone for rule-loopholing and doing that was risk them getting DOX'ed and DDoS, which funny enough happened quiet a bit IIRC.
You make it sound like you were the first guys that came across the horrors of the concentration camps with that tone.
Up till that point, I never witnessed people doing that type of thing. I had volunteered to get DDoS'ed(or DoS?) once to just see what it would look like back 09' but I never saw any true usage of DDoS tools, and defiantly not in the practice of shit like torture. Those activities sorta continued for about a few weeks after the fish market collapse, and eventually it forced the clan world to adapt from being Corproations/Businesses, to becoming Security PMCs. Something of which has never changed with the fact that the fish market is dead as a brick in the water right now.
here is a simple list of things.
1.little kids that play on gmod, that just love to use their mic , when clearly no one else is enjoying it
2.people who ask "Can i be an admin" "can i have that, i will trade you this (POS thing they got from dupes)"
3. all the stupid things i see on the public dupe
4. Public Dupe in general
5. minges that love to come on your server just to be annoying as possible
6. people who think its fun to DDoS a server just because you got banned or you are getting told off for something that is clearly not allowd, (anyone can use LOIC, instead of wasting time on that, make something useful)
7.The second someone messages me when i start gmod
8. when you ask a question on a server full of staff, and not one answers it
9. when you are building something, the server just randomly crashes
10. people who say " He IS A HACKER, BAN HIM" just because they get killed alot of times, and cant hit you
11.the things people say....just makes you want to :suicide:
12.noobs who come on and dont learn 1 thing about gmod before playing multiplayer
13. people who spam the hell out of props to attempt to crash a server
The two main things that grind my gears in GMod are the Prop Hunt players that ALWAYS play as the drink can (or the smallest effin' thing in the map), and the sheer amount of "Adult" dupes/props/etc in the Workshop. Just sayin'. :v:

*considering adding economy features to my new rp server just so i can watch and see how it plays out*
also how were they getting the IP of individual players in order to ddos them? gmod only sends peoples IPs to superadmins so either they had friends in high places or they had some other alternate method of getting peoples ips

I was going to type of a way to get it, but I decided against it. Blame Valve because it's kind of their fault and it's super easy to do.
I got DDOS'd one night by a bunch of guys while in their vent server. I unplugged my modem, plugged it back in, then went back. They tried again and I repeated the process. Then I laughed my ass off when they finally figured out that I had a dynamic IP address, and no matter how many times they tried, I was just going to reset my modem and come back online with a new IP.
Oh the memories.....

johnny guitar: wow that's fucking low
PWA Satan the Sammich: They caused the downfall of many servers, including a server I cared deeply about, they took it down by just getting our players with their custom shit. In all seriousness though, they are only staying up form their hackers and custom content
PWA Satan the Sammich: Yeah, anyways, stilll in planning phase
Guess all the server owners who don't know how to code and don't try to learn just treat gmod as their "Gaming Community Tycoon" game.

Never said needed to, it's just the best way to do it imo.

Anonymous owner, nice.
anonymous owner??
If you read the logs, PWA Satan the Sammich didn't realize Johnny owned The Spire.
And now that I think about it, there can be some benefits to being an anonymous owner.
I hate it when my Omnidirectional Pewpew Mount doesn't turn vertically at certain angles.
Some noobs. I convinced a bunch of friends to get GMod and 2 of them actually play it and are learning to build and use wire and stuff, but the other 3 dont build anything because all they do is spawn NPCs and shoot them.
One also said something along the lines of " Why should I build things when I can just spawn dupes "
and that pissed me off to no end. What the hell sort of logic is that!?
I suppose I cant comprehend spawning in others things because I started playing before the advent of steam workshop and the online dupe thing.
EDIT:
Also kids who found the game due to their fav youtube channel. They are mostly fine but I hate their fucking guts as most of them dont ever touch sandbox or anything which involves building. They only play gun gamemodes.
Same with one of my friends. So we all have gmod so when he finally got a computer and got gmod all he does is make NPC's fight each other and kill them.

ohhh it gets worse
After the Big 5 corporations on the server turned their groups into PMCs from the standard fishing and farming groups, their was a clash about two months later known as the SAA-FUMUKU War or the 2nd Great War, which was the biggest clan war in Fearless since the Bouncer War of 2011.

At the time of the Fish Market Collapse their was five main corporations in the server that had a hand in pretty much everything related to the fish market: Kumonryu Trading Guild(mine), FUMUKU International, Quicksilvers Industries, Black Mesa Traders, and a group which I cannot remember. Right before the collapse of the fish market, all these groups met up in a very extravagant meeting, and were discussing how to go about politicizing the concept of having things like farming, mining, and otherwise added to the server in order to increase the amount of trade and markets in the server. While this was going in a local fish monger stormed into the meeting room, and ran over to the guys he was doing business with(Quicksilver) and pretty much made it clear to them that the fish market was under attack after a downfall in price from $660 to $300 and he was trying to figure out what to do. With that we all vowed to withdraw from the Fish Market, and pulled all of our stalls before our own people got hurt. This message didn't reach all of the people in our industries, so we ended up having a few people get the full wraith of protesting labourers who were trying to sell fish, but no one was purchasing. After a few got kidnapped, the protesters got organized and started using DDoS programs on players to extort them for money and such. Basically: Drop your inventory, cash, and passwords for your groups NOW.
This type of deal progressed for about two weeks before the Big 5 met up again and discussed the rational options we could go about, and their was a split of interest with two groups saying we should ignore it, while the other three groups, Kumonryu, Quicksilver, and FUMUKU stated we should strike back via contra raids and activities involving the police. This is where Kumonryu Trading Guild's main activities became the Kumonryu Tiger Force, FUMUKU International increased it's security and PMC operations, and Quicksilver became the Shadow Associates Agency and Black Talon Inc. All four groups did their own things with FUMUKU, SAA, and Black Talon providing security work as well as selling military grade equipment to organized governments and such, and at the same time a majority of us were involved in what commonly became known as Doomfort Raids.

Doomforts as the name implies were a building type which became a metaphor for the futility of raiding. Even moreso for users playing as the government who were expected to take these buildings with a handgun or light SMG. The groups at the time acknowledged this and went about producing vehicles that would protect government employees, as well as allow for easier deployment of Doomfort Raider teams into the fray with minimal casualties. One of the first deployed vehicles was the FUMUKU Hovering Armored Personnel Carrier or HAPC.
[t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/559811256397114775/AE24D4B19E08CD7BEE1B683CDAB3E001CFED4E32/[/t]
The HAPC was a godsent for government raiding teams as it allowed us to enter the zone with minimal damage and wounds, while also allowing us to conduct "Hot Drops" in which SS Officers would paradrop from the side of the HAPC into the fray below, and strike with pretty deadly efficiency. Because of the efficency of the HAPC, some contrafarmers actually went to naming it, "The Humblee Bumblee Bee of Death" as your chances of winning once a HAPC was deployed with four SS Agents on board as well as supporting PMCs was pretty negligible to be honest. The only time I recall the HAPC actually going down was when we were in a raid being conducted in a forest setting, and when we were coming in to rappel be the enemies walls, two guys jumped from a tree line and tossed molotovs at us while the HAPC was hovering 10 meters from the ground, everyone died outside the pilot and one door gunner, and they had to be later ransomed back to HQ.
Overall, Fearless was pretty interesting for the most part.
