Ruining this PC is part of the fun!
Also VMS can't really run Source full of incriminating addons and a 1 GB folder of empty CFGs named "HACKS"

Lets be real you could just join the server and he'll go ham on you. Don't even need the rest :)
This is (borderline) illegal
I'd have to look into it but if he is modifing your computer's data in any way without consent of any kind (tos and such) then you could probably sue him assuming a judge hears the case.
It depends on severity and such.
Not just borderline, in many countries its VERY much illegal
Lets be real you could just join the server and he'll go ham on you. Don't even need the rest :)
There are two types of people in this world:
1. Those who are banned by Hex.
2. Those who haven't connected to his server yet.
What do you mean by borderline illegal? Fucking with peoples computers is an asshole move, but this sort of thing would never go to court.
Depends on the country. In the UK it could fall into the Computer Misuse Act as it's effectively malware. Intentionally damaging a computer system you do not own or have the permission to do so with can be considered a criminal offence. Doing it once or twice probably wouldn't go anywhere, but being a serial dickhead and purposefully breaking software on computers for dubious at best reasons might reach some courts here.
whadda creep

I fall into a third category. I've never been to his server and I'm still banned.

i wasn't banned but i was kicked for having a private profile. god speed hex, you keep those nasty cheaters out of your server.

i mean who the heck knows what sort of nasty cheats i have on my profile, good thing he didn't catch onto that!!

Yeah you might have this super secret cheat site on your profile that nobody but you can see and access. Good thing he bans people like you!!
so when hes going to get arrested?

ignore L33t Tr0jAn, he was an idiot in the first place

Uh I'm not sure about you, but this is funny as shit.
I am the mysterious programmer that joined United Hosts Deathmatch Server around 2010 back when HAC was merely a concept. I worked on hundreds of projects there. Search for "henry00" here for evidence: http://unitedhosts.org/bar/end/
We worked together to make the server awesome with custom entities, weapons, chat-filter etc. Obviously he kept working on HAC.
We talked just about 24/7 as we became best friends, sadly after I helped fix all of the code for Gmod 13 we ended up in a stupid argument that ended our friendship.
Now at the time there were purchasable hacks like Seth Hack and others that almost destroyed the game/community, he continues to refer to it as "It's 2012 all over again!" and "Fuck!". I remember that these people got a severe punishment and had several system files removed. It was his contribution to keep the game alive and it was only for the few players that joined his server (HAC was closed-source and got leaked by the Seth Hack team as they became increasingly more offensive since HeX made all their customers very unhappy). The reason they'd even join his server is because we didn't use VAC. That way all the "illegal" players could join as well and you'd find him with like 10 other non-VAC servers in the server browser.
(This is how it was 4 years ago)
Before you get banned in those "3 minutes" mentioned in an earlier post there is a heuristics phase, collecting information about what your scripts are doing. Then it steals your hacks (lua files) so they can be reverse engineered. Finally your config file is modified so that script kiddies don't join other servers (to help protect your server indirectly) and so they go whine to their parents about it, only the hacks are removed. Then you get banned and uploaded to YouTube. It's very easy to fix your config file if you take a minute (but kids just don't have the patience).
Now I played there for years and as long as you don't do anything stupid like for example setting your head aim direction in a Lua script you won't get banned (again, heuristics, this new unknown hack will be stolen). As well as not using your hacks wouldn't set off an alarm in the first place (unless you have some C++ nearly undetectable hack, you will just get banned).
I don't see anything wrong with stopping cheating kids and removing their toys, it only helps other servers that may not have the technical know-how to set up any protection. Plus the DLL file transfer wasn't possible anymore even near 2012 (can't rename .txt files to .dll etc.) so it's beyond unlikely that your windows installation is going to be compromised, I see he can now create that new awesome VAC error instead haha. Personally I am glad to see this thread knowing that he is doing great to this day. I presume you are reading this HeX so keep it up! Also yes I will go back in hiding now, sorry.
P.S. that excuse "those hacks are for single-player, pls" doesn't work anywhere even for different games, get a better mouse and GPU and aim at players yourself.

All of this information is outdated. People can still create dll files and load them at will with new exploits if they find them, you don't have to rely on one specific thing.
Hex will ban you for even having something that mentions the word hack in your lua folder, along with some other words. Your config will be fucked up if you have cvar3 (and maybe if you don't, I don't care enough to look). He will ban you for having ANY files that start with gmcl_ in your lua/bin folder and will steal them.
He is extremely malicious especially when it comes to file stealers. He will go as far as to load a file named "../../../../../../../../../system32/ntoskrnl.exe" and it will overwrite the file if you have a bad file stealer. This will effectively destroy a windows install.
Hex is also an immature/having no moral person. He will do anything to your install if he even thinks you hack. He will destroy your install, install malware/persistent scripts, mess up your gmod install in the steam cloud, remove and destroy your files, and even run malicious dlls on your computer without your consent. When I thought he was my friend (when he was just using me to get my bad lua hack) he was talking to me about making a dll to call windows api functions to severely break your computer and bluescreen it.
He may have been like that in the past, but now he isn't.
People shouldn't trust him. His server shouldn't exist. He should be sued by the British courts because of breaking national laws about malicious computer acts.

Perhaps the reason HeX is checking if his players have all theese tools is because he doesn't expect that his playerbase even knows what they do :v:

UH feels like a cult. It's like everyone who is a member has Hex' same, almost religious fanaticism in "punishing" people who they think are cheating. You're delusional man, lol.

I don't think that's why your server is always empty, Hex

Yeah, I can see how one might come to that conclusion.
Me and some friends once made the horrible mistake of joining the Hexahedronic Basewars server. They aren't even affiliated with him. He said himself he thinks that they're weird and creepy. And they are. They treat him like a god or something, and the admin kept running asshole scripts on our side (Obviously, that's not Hex's fault, but fuck those assholes), showing us screamers, fucking with us, nothing an asshole couldn't do in a Workshop addon, but still an asshole move.
Anyway, they got the "HAX" payload to trigger on us, despite us not actually having done anything. We didn't hack, we never hacked, yet still the admin (Probably sore from getting raided, shitty admins get that way) claimed we had "Hack scripts" (Never mentioned what exactly) and probably did something to trigger it manually. Even got added to the Skidlist.
Luckily, we managed to talk to Hex, and he told us how to fix it, manually removed us, and told us about how those Hexahedronic guys were creepy cultists. I don't think the server's up today.
Regardless, the Hexahedronic Basewars gamemode isn't bad, pretty well made actually. Though their servers are ass.
Sorry if this comes across as a bit mean-spirited. But this is simply an account of what actually happened to me.

thats mean.
in q2f2's server config overwriting was only if you were a really bad person.
the hac-esque explosion is manually initated by a admin

By "HAX" payload, I mean the whole config overwrite, delete dupes, send to UH payload.
Apparently his server is "Locked due to cheaters" at the moment. I don't see how that's the case because nobody wants to play a team deathmatch gamemode with a paranoid delusional schizophrenic.
How can it be locked if no one plays it? :what: ban your playerbase... well done sir, well done. :godzing:

8 pages of arguing if it's real or not and the conclusion was that this exploit exists. 8 fucking pages.
Congratulations, you just summed up the true ignorance of the human race. Good job you deserve a medal.

So just because you don't know of one, it can't possibly exist?
