No-one does anyway
No-one can :v:
Talking about the exploit, yes you can destroy a physical computer with a virus. Danooct1 even made a video how the process of the virus affects the computer will harm, similiar how HeX would do.
https://youtu.be/RrnWFAx5vJg
Consider that this is a very malicious virus.
Now go to the server where the virus can be downloaded similiar as if you are on a random website and a random virus tries to download inside your computer.
You download their very complicated lua files that are basically very harmful. GMod begins to run them auto. Lua starts creating OS based files with the virus in and you're absolutely done for.
I might be wrong here, but I think that's the way HeX tries to do.
Literally CIH was a virus made in 1998 and only affected certain types of BIOS chips, are you trying to say that Hex has made some sort of malware that can indiscriminately destroy any BIOS chip on modern operating systems?
By the way, The anticheat USED to delete system32 and that was only if you had a cheating module installed (Cvar3), It can no longer do anything malicious, all it does is rebind keys to your game which is easily fixed.

oh look here comes some more alt accounts
oh look here comes some more alt accounts
I think the vast majority of people just want the deleting system files thing to be true so they can hate on Hex after all it seems really popular on the forums to do so!

what in the hell is going on i read the entire thread and it's left me feeling confused
what in the hell is going on i read the entire thread and it's left me feeling confused
Essentially 6 pages of a few retards ignoring the question "how is it justifiable to delete and/or corrupt files on a computer that isn't yours" and replying with "they shouldn't have cheated" over and over instead of actually giving an answer.
and they were all fresh accounts (presumably) made by hex to derail the thread away from his actual exploits to trivial shit.
the sad thing is, he completely succeeded.
pages after pages of people arguing with the shills, proving they have completely served their purpose; and occasionally a few sane people like falco reminding us to focus on the original implications that have been brought up.
At this point I'm almost asking myself whether it really is an anti-cheat or malware disguised as one.
Considering what it does, the latter is probably right.

Well then, why don't we get this thread back on topic and ignore the people/alts trying to blindly defend HeX?
This is (borderline) illegal
I'd have to look into it but if he is modifing your computer's data in any way without consent of any kind (tos and such) then you could probably sue him assuming a judge hears the case.
It depends on severity and such.
I've been through this but I haven't made a whole thread on this when it happened and kinda regret not bringing it up before, but the only protection against this is common sense. I joined his server one day out of boredom and regret losing my shit.
Get Hex's server on the internal gmod "blocklist" for ToS violations, end of story.
i will never forget this day

He's crusade to stop cheaters have failed, therefore he has forced himself to pull the plug and start the final solution against cheaters, which is to stop anybody and everybody to play Garry's mod. I fucking bet you one day he is going to add every single steam id there is and put them in his anti cheat to stop people from playing because everybody can be a cheater.
This guy is nuts

What do you mean by borderline illegal? Fucking with peoples computers is an asshole move, but this sort of thing would never go to court.
but this sort of thing would never go to court.
depends on the amount of people he's affected
What's this IP? I'm almost curious :v: I've got a sacrificial mobo around here somewhere…
He can't fuck over family shared accounts, can he?

Why don't just use VM (Virtual Machine)?
Obviously theres some sort of exploit that can load viruses eg: https://youtu.be/K-UXrmvjV04

It's illegal in the UK, under the Misuse of Computers Act.
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1990/18/contents
Section F1-3, Paragraph 2, Section B
(b)
to prevent or hinder access to any program or data held in any computer; [F2or]
I.e. Deleting Config and Data Files, Corrupting EFI/BIOS chips.
Not sure about other countries though.
