Imo anything ground up custom is unique.
I think it's akin to saying that building a guitar from scratch is unique. Sure, it's hugely impressive and it takes a talented and skilled person to do it, but that doesn't make the end-product unique. You still just made an instrument that's been done before. What makes it unique is putting your own huge spin on it. Huge is important. Just etching your name on it to mark it yours doesn't make it unique.
That's just my opinion, though. I don't play on Lifepunch too often so I don't really know how similar or disimilar it is to regular ol' bunnyhop, deathrun, gungame, or whatever else they have.

They definitely put a fresh spin on old ideas, but the grounds for "unique" haven't really been defined here
Imo anything ground up custom is unique. But it seems most people in this thread would tend to disagree there.
Maybe dimitri or someone could remake this with some proper guidelines.
Imo this thread should be unique gamemodes with unique ideas. Not unique gamemodes but that are really just the same exact gameplay as other pre-existing gamemodes. Unless it's a situation like Braxnet plenty of major gameplay mechanics are defferent even though it's still RP.
This thread is meant for showcasing unique game modes so that they could receive the attention from the public eye that they would otherwise not receive on the server browser. I just want to make that point entirely clear. That is why I do not want LifePunch, SUP, or any massively popular game mode hosts on this thread. It is redundant. They have audiences of their own and have the ability to advertise their servers with their garnered popularity and funding.
I slightly take offense to the idea that Stoned would plug his servers at any chance he gets. I thought it was pretty evident that I made this thread give an opportunity to the littler guys, and encourage developers to continue creating game modes. They would finally have an outlet to share their work and have it seen without the overarching monopoly that already exists.
With all of that said, I implore any of those reading this thread to at least give one of these servers a try. There is certainly a lack of originality in GMod and the only people who dare to go outside of the norms are set adrift. This needs to change if there is any hope of progression in quality of content and revitalizing anything that once was of Garry's Mod.

Their zs server is almost completely overhauled from zs2.0, unfortunately their playerbase has dropped off recently.
