How do you become an approved uploader?
Not letting me upload anything ;-;
Any errors or just the generic screen? How big is the zip you're trying to upload? [editline]25th March 2015[/editline]
How do you become an approved uploader?
You don't just yet :>
Holy shit, the nostalgia makes me want to dust off Garry's Mod and play it again.
If/when you add comments, is it possible to have it routed via Steam? That way if someone is asking for help via comment, the uploader can contact them directly through Steam. I am loving the site but it is a bit too bright. I would try to stick to the old design - [t]http://s3.amazonaws.com/uso_ss/18151/large.jpg?1344505872[/t] clean, simple, easy to navigate, relatively pretty!

Each user has their website address set to their profile on garrysmods.org too so getting to their Steam profile is easy enough. There's a dark theme if you don't like the brightness, but I won't be changing the design. It's a new site with a new start and new features, I aren't going to copy the old site.
Am I the only one not too sure about the pink colouring? I just think it would look nicer/fit in more with Gmod's colour scheme if it was blue.

what gmod really needs is a 72mb pack of sonic models
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to implement 'collections/packs'? It's obviously required because people find it useful to download a collection of, say, TTT or ZS maps instead of finding a few and downloading each. What I don't want to do is allow anyone to create collections of anything because the site will get full of people's 'favourite addon' packs etc. Maybe you should only be allowed to add your own uploads to collections? Is that too limiting? Some suggestions would be good please!

It's getting better and better everyday! Also not sure if this is just me, but the search bar at the top middle isn't working properly?
And so it begins... Do reports immediately get investigated or is there a threshold for reports? I think a threshold is a better idea since if an upload is actually uploaded without permission or whatever it will go over the threshold where as legitimate uploads which get reports from trolls or out of spite or whatever wont.

Excellent work. I dont know if I will personally be using the website myself but I'm more than happy to offer suggestions and help out should you need it. So far this is looking like what garrysmod.org AND the workshop should have been.
maybe make it like a shopping cart? when the user wants to download said addon you show him in a fancy table what his other choices are with a button for each of them that said [INCLUDE TO PACK] when he made up his mind of what he wants you let him download it and be done with it. as for whatt is allowed and what isn't, I think only gamemodes should be allowed to have dlcs or what ever because I have a bad feeling it would get abused otherwise.

But for Addons and or Maps i would disagree with packs or collections. Sometimes you just want to download 1 map, and this map is then only avaible in an 600 Mappack, with all the custom textures, models and sounds also extracted and included. So Good Luck with an 12 GB Download for 1 map. An System for Collections would be nice, so you can download everything individualy or choose to download the whole collection. That would help things like Hoffa's Neurotec or buu's weapons. edit:// also an second suggestion. How about an optional Gamemode Sub-Categorie, so you can choose the popular Gamemodes (TTT, Sandbox, DarkRP, Prophunt), and limit your search for them?

Thank you for remaking this sight i remember the good old days before the workshop :P
What if in a collection you have tick boxes on the side and can tick/untick so say if you only want 75% of the map pack, you can get 75% of the map pack easily, without downloading the whole thing than removing ones you don't need.
So apparently my ZIP never uploaded and I had my addon up there for a bit, it just redirected people to the steam workshop. I saw Adam downloaded it but he never said a word, I think he just liked watching me fail.
I was going to block external url's linking to the workshop but then forgot to.
I'm glad youre making an effort to fix the problems garrysmod.org had (and Workshop still has). Good on you for everything you're doing to keep garbage at bay. The elements there still feel too big for a site that's meant to hold tons of content, but I can just ctrl-mousewheel and it's tolerable for me. One thing I really like is the ability to externally host files. What little content I do finish and upload is usually way above Workshop's file limit and has to be divided into multiple addons. (No more people downvoting your "broken" assets because they're too lazy/stupid to click more than one link.) Keep up the good work, bud.
This is really cool, but it does make me miss the toy box for some reason. Yes it was stupid, had more nude models than you could shake a "stick" at, and I don't think it worked in multiplayer, but dang was it FUN.
Added the ability to upload files as the garrysmod.org user (for files from the old site where the author is unknown), and files on external urls now have their contents listed (if the file is <= 10MB and it's a zip).
In roughly 1 week, about 1800 people have signed up to the site :)
And I have the top downloaded addon! I should get a hat or something
