Ever considered adapting this to work with exsto? as if you took the options and added them to an exsto menu pane instead of in the setting it would make a lovely addition to their admin system.

I might look into it, i havent had a chance to use exsto yet tho. On a side note for people actually using the svn version, you may have noticed, i started a sql rewrite of this system... but my laptop blewup like 3 weeks ago, so i havent had a chance to continue it. (a new one has been shipping from dell for the past 2 weeks!!)

i run a TTT server and i cant get the danm MOTD to show up so i can advertise my website its getting annoying.

errors ? version ? if you have the old (non sql version) then make sure you have saved the settings atleast once... there should be something in the console in either case.

there was nothing in the console it worked in single player but when i uploaded it to my gameserver it just didnt work no one can see it

oh ? are you saying you dont see the motd in darkrp ? Can you point me to a download link for the version of DarkRP that YOU have ?

I use the svn link [url]http://darkrp.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/[/url] . Its saying to chance the gamemode name but the moment i do that. Then it just saying error see console for how to set up motd. But there is nothing in the console

ok, did some debugging, and found the problem is with darkrp. Ill have a quick look at their code and see if i can find anything. On a side note, updated advmotd with more error reporting functions. Check advmotd_error.txt for the last error reported. On SVN as usual.

So this is a stand alone MOTD as in does NOT require ULX.

correct. This pretty much replaces the ulx motd. and at the moment the only gamemode that doesnt work, that im aware of, is darkrp.

more gamemodes than that dont work with it it seems that the menu that comes up when loading a fretta gamemode overrides the MOTD i know this because i tried actually moveing to ULX admin mod because this MOTD wasent working but after doing that the MOTD still wouldent work and something was happening to it that made it not be able to function in all fretta gamemodes i am yet to find out what exactly it is

Yes, and i dont think that i will override a fretta gamemode just to see a motd. Fretta gamemodes are different, in that most rely on a motd, or a panel of some discription informing the player how to play that mod. I dont think it would be a good idea to have a server motd poping up then. But it depends if more people want this to work with fretta or not.

well i need it to work with fretta because i run TTT and just TTT scince TTT breaks the MOTD its very pissy for me to advertise my servers website

ok, ill look into it then. Apparently there is some conflict between DarkRP and AdvMOTD in the sql settings part, so ill have a look there too.

I just realised that when i updated the svn last, i forgot to change the motd to use /data/advmotd.htm again. Ill change that in the svn now.

Ignoring the gaping hole i just fixed with toggling the motd, i dont see anything that should be causing your error. (it worked fine for me ?) I do know of this bug tho, and i've fixed it before o.O maybe i missed something when i recoded it. Ill have a look later this week. SVN Update [code] Bug fix: Duh, actually STORE motd enable setting somewhere :P (and more importantly restore it!) Current Bugs: Enable Checkbox doesnt sync with server, but ill fix that when i get some free time next. (just toggle it twice to sync it at the moment)[eg, notick tick, and it will be synced] [/code] On a side note, can you post data/advmotd_error.txt if it exists ?
