It's not really advertising... he didn't even say "OpenAura" he abbreviated it. I admire your script, but it seems you're getting a bit ragey, and I'd understand except the posts were within an hour apart.
So much anger...
Look at his title, he points at it.
And you want the truth? I simply do not want to hear about OpenAura on my thread cause you don't hear about Tiramisu on OpenAura/Clockwork's thread.
This is getting a little silly. Everyone needs to chill and not jump at things with a 100c branding iron.

Yes, to be honest, I want to distance myself from the community to begin with. Whatever, I'll just do the GMod 13 version and let development befallen on the hands of whoever may want to.
I've been editing the script for a while now, I just finished all of my edits and I put it on my dedi. When it spawns, it shows a black screen and the following error:
Warning: Unhandled usermessage 'TiramisuInitChat'
DataStreamClient: Unhandled stream Tiramisu.ReceiveSpawnPoints!
The server I have is running Windows. This happens on all maps, and I think it has something to do with some of the code for some reason. I just don't exactly know where it's pinpointing to. It works completely fine in local multiplayer, besides some stuttering. If anyone could give me some help, I'd be grateful.

Had this happen a couple times. Rejoining fixed it magically. Sounds dumb, but have you tried restarting your server? (Exit and start again, not change map.)

I've done that multiple times, actually. Nothing seems to work.
I'm working with it D:
I've already made a few tweaks, it's really quite easy to read and modify.
Only problem is the fact that the tab menu doesn't appear at all, I just get the sandbox menu, thus massively gimping the gamemode for me...
No lua errors either :'(
FIXED IT OMG YEYAIFdfSIKG Gcxv
Deleted Evolve, all good.
lol you use alts
lol you use alts
yep and even his alt has been here longer than you.
I would actually use this framework if there was proper documentation for it.

I have an 06, I just made this account as a name change. Join dates don't actually mean anything.

so you're an alt too...
lol okay.

No you wouldn't. That's just some bullshit excuse to not say that you simply don't wanna code anything cause you could just pay/pirate another script, when in reality, you fail to acknowledge that with all the editors that are IN GAME, and the configuration file you can do pretty much everything you need.
You can tell me of ONE thing you want me to document. Cause there's nothing special about the way Tiramisu is coded, in fact, it's all extremely straightforward and uses GMod defaults for most things.
It took me about an hour of looking around in the code to find out how the majority of things worked, after that modifying it has for the most part not been that hard.

Ok. So first off, you are very aggressive to anyone that says something slightly negative, this may scare some away. And two, I want proper documentation because I don't want to make another cookie cutter fucking rp gamemode. I had planned to use this as a base for different styles of gamemodes because it has features that I would otherwise end up implementing myself.
There appear to be some very cool utilities you have made and I do want to use them. I want you to document the Player Appearance functions, document the inventory functions and document all of the fucking red links you have in your own damn wiki.
Fun fact, that wiki is not only user made but user maintained by somebody who probably cares a fair bit more about the project than you do, so it's kind of unfair for you to throw names around like that to someone else's work like if you're some sort of boss is very damn offensive, in fact it's the kind of bullshit that killed the project.
I have an attitude? You're barging in demanding a bunch of crap. Who's the bad guy here?
Regardless, I'll write off one example of how to use the system, and that's me being nice, because I do have better things to do rather than deal with ungrateful fucks like you.

Learn to take criticism. If people say you need more documentation, don't flip out and say they're a shithead. Calm down, and either explain to them why they don't need any, or write some.

I have done so, several times.
I've taken my fair share of criticism, Tiramisu had 3 beta releases, we had like 10 push requests, over 60 closed issues, that all went entirely without incident. But considering that I'm leaving and this dude not only pretends that I HAVE to do the documentation (Ignoring the fact I have repeatedly stated, and that is, you don't NEED to code anything to do your schema, and the fact that this guy wants documentation for the code on other projects, out of my actual area of concern), and that I keep neglecting people of documentation because I'm an asshole
I'm not an asshole, I coded this, I coded it with the very intention to keep people from having to meddle with the code to get things going their way. I released it for free so the community can use it freely and because there has been no free alternative for over 2 years now. There's so much I can do, and there's so much I can't do, and one of those things is customer support, which I have given way too many damn times even though I didn't have to.
I want to LEAVE the project, you expect me to waste more time writing documentation? I wanna go off to do actual games, things I actually enjoy to code and play instead of things I have to code just because I started it and I had to finish it, that I don't actually like to play, and that is to be used by a bunch of people I don't fucking like, and that don't like me to begin with.

So here's what you do: tell them that they don't need documentation, and do it without being an ass.
Simple as that.

Good. Then I'll do this.
I won't do anything. Don't contact me about Tiramisu, anyone. Can a moderator lock this thread?

Tough Break. Dev's really don't get much appreciation for the work they do.

I come in here and state that I would use this if there was documentation for it. I didn't try to start a fight but you made it into one. Then you attacked me calling my lazy, A reasonable person would have asked why or have stated that they aren't going to document it. I didn't demand anything, you asked me to name things that I would like you to document and I was simply answering you. And how was I to know that someone other than you ran the wiki, it was on your own github project.

I just assume that developers are passionate about what they make, I know I am, and that they always try improve and help others with it. I am sorry you feel this way about a project you obviously spent a lot of time on and it's sad that you had to end it this way.

Just stop.
You don't have to lock the thread. There are plenty of people enjoying and using your script, which by the way is of the highest degree. We'd still like to discuss it, at least some of us, without any rage.
Anywho, I have a server I'd like to be added to the list. I'll post it tomorrow.
I can't edit the thread since Matt made it to begin with and Matt seems to have quit too. So uh, if you really feel like it post it here or do your own thread.
Just stop.
Why? He's being perfectly reasonable.

From a developers point of view, no, he's not.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
