Really good one. I hate when people find dark, deppressing, dumb themes serious. There's nothing serious in standing still and waiting for a CP to rape or shooting at the sky so that you don't accidently hit your target and break the serious "shoot to miss" rule. Also your serious fans find running using WASD dumb and unrealistic. They use /me to run. Cause you know, nobody actually mvoes in real life, that's just nonsense.
And Tiramisu isn't catoony or "fun-like" (a term that is definatelly used by mature people). It's just relaxed. Now please stop derailing and get out.
Tiramisu cronies lol.
How can you say your audience prefers a serious theme when it is entirely composed of 12 to 16 year olds, dude. I don't theme my script deliberately so people can theme over it but the idea just never caught on. Your shit is the same than my shit, only it looks different.
In the end you ended up making much ado about nothing. And fuck, so did I. If you seriously wanna argue about how pointless RP actually is I can go ahead and call you a fool. Even people in Second Life have to make more of an effort to bask in their childish fantasies. You don't need a script, you need the /people/, which GMod lacks, or at least, now lacks.
The only beef I've got with you is ideological man. I seriously couldn't give less of a fuck about what you do, did, or will do, but controlling the distribution of something that should be free to enjoy and to modify is nothing short of despotic, and it is exactly why I hate software patents, and software litigation in general. You wanna go down that road, feel free to do so, but be forever aware that people like me, or at least, that think like I do will always come to nag you and bug you. 300 fuckers came to bother me about the X and Y's of Tiramisu's behavior, not once did I seriously give a fuck about it. And tbh that's what you need to start doing if your mind is set, don't like what people say? Don't give a fuck.
Whoever wants to go ahead and break your DRM, then coolio. But if your mind is set on doing it, why bother bickering about it? I'm not gonna change my mind, you're not gonna change your mind, so go on and fucking do it.
Damn... I'm speechless.
Lets get back on topic shall we? :p
Any ETA on the fixes? And I'd be glad to help if you tell me what I should work on (I'd rather not choose myself in case I choose what you're working on which leads to some 'useless' work) :)
Yeah... Let's get back to the topic, are there any fixes soon or something?

I don't think that's the case. Tiramisu has been used by a few communities with people from older communities like Desertia, Paradox, OTA involved. These are pretty serious roleplayers.
I think what is comes down to is your script tries to have a theme, and we honestly tried our hardest to make Tiramisu themeless. We wanted Tiramisu to be like the Sandbox of roleplay scripts, and minus the bugs and lack of documentation I think we did that. I think your audience is more worried about pretty, polish, and ease-of-use than roleplay features.

I also wouldn't call our users cronies. I think we just have a community :)

My computer is broken right now :( so it's all on Fnox.
Is this updated to Gm13?
I don't think that's the case. Tiramisu has been used by a few communities with people from older communities like Desertia, Paradox, OTA involved. These are pretty serious roleplayers.
I can vouch for that. Desertia ran both versions of Tiramisu, and we've never had any complaints about the script in general. No one minded the colors, the font, or the aesthetics in general. Mature, experienced, and dedicated roleplayers will understand that a roleplay script is merely the medium in which RP is delivered, and does not affect the RP in any way; these are the people who sometimes got their start by RPing in Steam chats or online forums, and probably still do. When our version of CakescriptG1 broke, we RPed on Sandbox, and still had a blast. Then there was the time when an update broke our SWEPs: we just /me'd and /it'd fights, and it was still awesome. And when Gmod was down, we got SFRPs going. The point is that a bunch of code doesn't, shouldn't, and should never matter with good roleplay.
The old motto still applies: "Never judge a book by its cover, but you can sure as hell judge the people who do it anyways." If a community dislikes a script based on what font or colors it uses, that's a good indicator of the community's level of maturity.
That being said, I'm saddened to see Tiramisu not being used as thoroughly as I had hoped. You guys have an excellent script here which even an idiot (like myself) can use and adapt for any purpose, while sporting an excellent array of functionality (swappable heads and universal animations for ragdolls without animations was a real life-saver). Yet I think it's because of the current RP climate that I don't see more widespread usage. The most dominant RP types follow well-tread paths (HL2RP, RLRP, etc.), and for most of the population, that's enough to sate their taste. But I still see the script's potential, and I still think it's the best script for new communities that don't want DarkRP. I still have Des's script, complete with the slew of new clothes, gear, loot, weapons, and other items I added. Maybe I should have offered those up for open-source reference...
I'm still waiting for another big community to make a splash with Tiramisu. Hopefully, this community will utilize the script's full potential, offer a lore and genre unlike what's currently offered on the RP pallete, and openly engage players in deep, meaningful RP experiences.
But for now, I know I'll be patiently wait for Tira's G13 release.
(And Hello Ryaga and FNox!)
I, honestly, cannot wait for this gamemode to be fixed. I plan on running it on my server for serious roleplay. The devs do some good work here, so keep it up!
Last gmod update broke some stuff
[lua][ERROR] ...mode/schemas/global/plugins/containers/sv_containers.lua:38: attempt to index local 'tbl' (a nil value)

Bump, any news related to Tiramisu?

respect, that helps fnox a lot more than just asking questions and throwing out new suggestions.
I'm really looking forward to this being updated to the current Gmod, but what worries me is what if a small update breaks some code and your not developing it anymore? ): it might not be stable for long.
[ERROR] gamemodes/tiramisu/gamemode/cl_binds.lua:197: bad argument #1 to '__add' (Vector expected, got nil)
1. __add - [C]:-1
2. Run - gamemodes/salvation rp/gamemode/cl_binds.lua:197
3. unknown - gamemodes/sandbox/gamemode/spawnmenu/contextmenu.lua:172
When you press C it happens.
So, I've been trying to run Tiramisu and I got this and few more things like
[ERROR] gamemodes/tiramisu/gamemode/sh_animations.lua:806: bad argument #2 to 'AnimRestartGesture' (number expected, got nil)
1. AnimRestartGesture - [C]:-1
2. unknown - gamemodes/tiramisu/gamemode/sh_animations.lua:806
When ever you shoot a prop.
For me the error is I cannot make any character, it bugs out choosing a model and pressing Confirm it doens't create it so I cannot spawn to play.
why are you guys trying to run it when clearly it's bork
Because we actually have hope in the developers, and you spelt broke wrong.
This just shows that garrys mod 13 broke things in a weird way, some people dont get problems others do and vise versa.
Because we actually have hope in the developers, and you spelt broke wrong.
Having hope in the developers isn't filling the thread with pointless errors that they already know about and are trying to fix.
Also, he knows he spelt Broke wrong, I'm sure. Bork, or borked is another 'slang' way of saying broken. Good job looking like an ass while trying to grammarnazi.
I aint posting useless errors, I'm just saying how i get a different error and other people don't get mine, its weird. Honestly I wouldn't mind some errors, but not being able to make a character halts any gameplay for now.
[editline]25th November 2012[/editline]
Okay scratch all I said I was stupid and left it on mysql, but now i've noticed (and I think but im not sure) the problem is that the syntax hasn't been updated for the vgui, I don't think .Display works anymore since its those lines I'm getting errors on and nothing happens when pressing the keys.
Does anyone know what replaced it? so i could quick fix it myself.
Because we actually have hope in the developers, and you spelt broke wrong.
i didn't spell broke wrong i spelled it as bork on purpose to get into your mind and turn you into a goose.
running a broken gamemode doesn't mean you have hope on the developers it means you have no hope.
There is a lot to fix for tiramisu and me and fnox are also currently working on another gamemode, not as actively as we need to be but i'd think it'd take much more priority over tiramisu.
Another gamemode? out of curiousity is it another RP? Well not trying to say to work on tiramisu, take all the time you need since you have a lot to do.
But wouldnt finishing tiramisu first take priority? cause then you could just finish it and get it out the way, no worrying about naggers for bugs since they already know it's gonna be the final release.
Just me saying, might be better to just get it over with. Then people can either use it, enjoy it. Wait until garry breaks it again and if they complain then sux to be them.

FNox and Lau have been hired to write a script for someone, and that takes more priority than an entirely free and open-source script that FNox has developed for years without complaining. All errors you have listed are errors that FNox is very aware of and is trying his best to fix. Tiramisu is at the moment broken and unusable, either wait for FNox to finish fixing it or find another gamemode.
