oh god this is hilarious how does this always happen to RP threads
oh god this is hilarious how does this always happen to RP threads
Because people love drama.
This is facepunch, son.
I don't know whether or not to put this on a bug report, but when running it on a VPS using Linux, the inventory was just a single grey bar, and I couldn't pick anything up. ( It said "Inventory Full )
I know. There's some error with the script when running on Linux. I have no idea why it is caused. Currently researching on it.
I know. There's some error with the script when running on Linux. I have no idea why it is caused. Currently researching on it.
Well, I can't change the OS, so I guess I'll be waiting as well. Best of luck to ya!
I think once Big Bang said it is possible to put openaura like text onto walls, how is that possible to be done because I can't find it in admin menu.
I think once Big Bang said it is possible to put openaura like text onto walls, how is that possible to be done because I can't find it in admin menu.
It's not possible with Tiramisu, but with this it is http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=113127
It'll be implemented for GMod 13, it's one of those things I couldn't put in for time reasons.
One of my admins just... upgraded himself to super admin..?
Go to "tiramisu\gamemode\schemas\global\plugins\admin\admin_cc" and edit the admin_cc.lua, down there you will find the "PLUGIN.Init( )" function, just make all commands you don't trust your admins having to super admin by editing the numbers to the index of the class you want to use, or make a new admin group by adding a line "CAKE.AddAdminRank( "Owner", 6, "o")" or whatever you want and set the "abusive" commands to owner and at the server console do rp_admin yournamehere o and bham, you are a owner, no one else can abuse such commands. Note that the tooltrust is in the folder "tooltrust" and the command to allow players to use business, at the business plugin folder. Thanks for Big Bang for telling me this, xD
Hey Big Bang, what would you say your ETA is for that Linux fix? Please don't tell me you're going to wait til GMod 13...
I'm still looking for it. It's something with the filesystem but I have NO idea why it happens for containers only. Anyone who has any idea or that can list me the incompatibilities in terms of files between the Windows filesystem and the Linux filesystem please do so cause it'll speed this up.

I pressed F2 for the inventory and its just a singular black bar.
Actually, it wasn't only containers for me. I pressed F2 for the inventory and its just a singular black bar.
Inventories are containers too.
Inventories are containers too.
Oh...I feel dumb now.
I'll try testing some stuff on my linux.
Had a great game of Queue Rp. Was standing in a line of 6 people trying to get recruited by CP. After doing nothing for ~2 real life hours I was first in the line , but the cop just choose a guy from the back of the queue and said "Recruitment is over" The script seems amazing though
Hey Big Bang I think there's a bug with the auto weapon system thing, it doesn't seem to auto create the weapon items like you said it would, running it on a listen server and server box but it doesn't make a difference. Found a conflicting addon! ---------------------------- Immersive First Person Perspective is a CONFLICTING ADDON
This is a great script, absolutely love it, but can anyone tell me how to fix my doors? I'm having an issue where none of the doors are purchaseable even though I set them to true. Is there a reason for this, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.
Found a conflicting addon! ---------------------------- Immersive First Person Perspective is a CONFLICTING ADDON
Why would you use that addon if it's already implemented into the script?
Work has begun on the HL2 update. Here's what to expect: Items rewrite, items will work differently and be much easier/fluent to script. (This will allow things like grenades to be items. You could throw one, then pick it up and it's still live, and would explode in your inventory, obviously the explosion would be based off you. Also shit like books that are scripted in.) I'm going to probably redo the weapons, especially the stunstick. Basic deployable manhacks/scanners. A dispatch system, including controllable manhacks/scanners. Haven't had time to check, but how is the recoil on the guns? I never liked the Shoot-2-Miss system, but would rather see guns with more recoil.
Regarding that, I had an idea for a whole centralized combat system that would make combat much more fair for RP, as it'd be based on stats (I KNOW, people go crazy when they see stats in RP, it'll be a toggle off), and weapons made within Tiramisu itself. The whole point of this is that you could rely on the "emote" combat you see on most RP servers, but you can also go into "combat" mode which would activate the weapons and damage on your player if, for example, someone is powerplaying or if you flat out don't wanna do emote combat. The whole point of it is that you can, for example, if you don't wanna get randomly DMed, you can just go noncombat and no guns will be able to hurt you (Again, something toggleable on the configuration options), and if you lose all your health you don't respawn, you're just "defeated", and that means you have to roleplay your defeat, as in, RP injury and such, but you stay on the same spot you were, so it doesn't break the flow of RP. This is all in the intention of removing the stupid shoot to miss crap, and the drama that ensues on emote combat without rolls and such. It would allow for a bunch of things on different settings, you could, for example, in a more fantasy like setting have different stats and skills for different races, or in a modern "realistic" environment, have everyone have similar stats, no skills, but allow for guns to be customizable, for example, or allow for skills to affect your profiency with certain weapons. Does anybody like that idea? If there's too many against it I'm not even gonna put it in.

Getting rid of people having to be upclose or do PMs to eachother for any sort of combat is something I can deal with, though. Just gotta figure out a way for non-combat to not be abuseable by, say, someone going combat, popping a round, and then going non-combat to escape retribution. But then that's what admins are for.
If someone owns a gun shop and has no-combat on, how would people break into their shop to steal stuff?
They would RP it.
If someone owns a gun shop and has no-combat on, how would people break into their shop to steal stuff?
You're still required to RP. You're not gonna just run into harms way just cause you're non-combat. Non combat simply means you don't want people to RDM you and you'll go into combat if necessary, or you'll at least RP it if it happens. Admins can always ban abusers
The idea of getting rid of shoot-to-miss is something i'm mixed on, but that's mostly due to having to use it almost all the time. When you want to actually get serious, go on-com, and blast away.
Well, I'm guessing this is a continuation of the Linux bug, but it seems it cannot read cl_init.lua, as in, when someone joins they don't download it, and the gamemode appears as base gamemode.
