It does fly, you just need to move it up a bit then it starts moving.
It doesn't move it just sits in the air :\

I did that, i moved it up way high and all it does is FLY back down towards the place where i spawned them and nothing else. What i meant is that it should follow the node graph.
does the gunship and dropship move only by scripts?
I soppose he exaggerated about it actually "flying" as everyone thought it would go through all the nodes, if I'm not mistaken, helicopters have different node paths than land NPCs or scripted to fly, yada yada.
Easy enough...use your imagination people! Disable AI, make your little NPC war, spawn a gunship on one side of the map, drag it to the other side, take disable AI off, and it will do a SWOOP, WOOT, A SWOOP!

I remember someone made a working assassin. All it did was to either shoot you or if it's unarmed, run up to you and do the T pose. Yeah, it's a bit boring everyone uses the same pre-made scripts (I laughed when Master Chief gave out a civilian woman's pain sounds...). Some new things would be nice, for example Combine who can use every weapon, not just SMG/AR2/Shotgun.
Elites with Staffs, mmm.... Honor Guard, anyone?
I personally got the gunship to fly in a very large air noded map (mine..) and in gm_construct.. When i put it on top of the main building and phys. gun'ed it into the air it fly around and shoot at me then landed...
Also in your image the gunship is stuck in the ground. :v:

Well i mean make it fly other else then picking it up with the physgun and making it just fly back. If it encounters an obstacle like a wall it will be fucked because it does not follow the node graph.
I think you should have added the combine security camera cause in some video's on you tube you see some people have that NPC and sometimes more and they include different spawn icons.
I want to know how come these NPC's aren't in Garry's mod by default?
somone needs to make the npcs do more things, like stalkers being more creepy and mabe somehow showing them being born... ...ore the claw scanner actually doing sompthing.... and mabe the dropship too. anyway cool pack im getting it now :)

This one works fine. I have it on three computers.
And last time I checked Construct doesn't have air nodes, i've never seen one of them fly in there. But there are ground nodes where striders can walk/run. There's a rectangle in front of the building where spawn is filled with nodes. And I think there's jump ones around there too. Not so sure.

I had a look into strider movement a while ago and found that strider's don't use ground nodes, they use air nodes.

No, sorry. But I really do think that gunships need to be scripted to fly in a map. Although there are other ways to get a gunship to fly that I have succeeded with, I may post a video if anyone wants to see it.

1. Strider Secondary Cannon is Scripted to shoot (I think)
2. No Idea about why he hasn't put them in
3. Again i think the helicopter is scripted to know when to drop bombs
4. The APC is complex, its a vehicle with an npc_apcdriver in it
5. Combine advisors have animations, they are not a proper NPC
If I remember correctly, striders use [url=http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Npc_strider]air nodes[/url]. So yeah, gm_construct has air nodes. They may be special air nodes reserved only to striders though, so that may explain why gunships don't fly.

It's just a small construct map, what else would you need? It's the most basic construct map I've seen. Apart from flatgrass.

What are you talking about? Its an NPC addon that can be used in any map, not in a single map.
