Well I have tried it out. I doesn't seem able to store entities. Sometimes when you try to use it, it disappears. However it is a cool mod. I would recommend it for download!
P.S. It would be cool if it could take you to the alternate dimension if you survive the initial radiation burst.
I like your idea, but this would require altering the map, (unless the LUA coder could also map and make a map change point leading to that map on the device, but it wouldn't work in multiplayer.)
This is a very good thing for RP'ing, you could just buy on of these and use them as storage devices when you are buying stuff for your home
Heh, put it in the middle of the store and run like hell when it is done...
Looks awesome! But I have no idea if my computer could take it. The portal looked pretty rifting... Does it effect FPS at all??? (I get an average FPS of 6-10 on Gm_construct (Do you think it would crash me or what???))
That is such a low fps, "6-10 fps average!"

Actually no.
You can pull it off without changing the map at all. It'd take a bit of trickery though, and be a full-blown addon.
What you can do is when a player a player or prop enters the alternative dimension, set a shared variable on them saying as much. Then, using clientside code to decide what models to draw and such, you can do it so only people in Dimension A (normal) can see props and people in Dimension A, and people in Dimension B can only see props and people in Dimension B.
To complete the illusion, adjust collisions as such, since the players are still there, just invisible to the player - disabling collisions between dimensions will make it so you won't run around and run into invisible player-shaped walls.
:v:
If there was an epic rating I would give it to you.
Dude, this would make a cool grenade.
What if the map didn't have a sky box?
o i didnt know maps didnt need a skybox um why not make it create a box that you get sucked into or something like that
Do you think you can make this wire ready, or at least you can activate it with the numpad? Or like a version where it doesn't damage, so you can like store prisoners in there, then release them inside a cell?
Can I use this in my new lab map?
http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showthread.php?t=579956
List of bugs:
Roping two ragdolls to the device and then press e on it may crash your game.
Putting two devices next to each other and putting ragdolls then starting them up at the same time may cause errors.
AHHHHH, WHY CAN'T I GIVE MORE LUA KINGS....
oh well, due to the fact it will make a one way portal when damaged.(like i said 2 minutes ago on youtube) you can make a warp bomb with it!

Yes you can.
Excellent work, if you ever have the time to put some more work into it, for wire compatibility and Adv. Dup. like saving I think a lot of us would be very excited. Great work, nonetheless.

Nice idea actually. And since there probably isn't a way around this anyway, it's probably a little redundant, but I still want to suggest it. If you were to do this, have it so the flashlight will still show their shadow. The way dimensions work, you can see the shadow of things in other dimensions, just not those things themselves.
o i didnt know maps didnt need a skybox
you don't know flatgrass?
For fuck sake, someone reported it again!
In order to make an addon that sends people to other dimensions... Why not just take advantage of that "other map" glitch??? (I don't know if it's on Flatgrass only or not.) When it does this, it sends them through the "other map" glitch and changes their view a little. (although this might be harder than what was allready suggested)
What would happen if you used God Mode and went into that...
Nothing. You just stand in the middle of a bunch of effects and flying props.
For fuck sake, someone reported it again!
why are people reporting it it works allmost compleatly fine
I found a bug in this addon. Well after you have teleported your things you can't remove your things with "Z" button and you can not clean up it. That is very sad. :(
I would love to see this as a swep.
Mines only makes the props invisible. What the fuck.

It isn't a bug, just the prop are deleted, and later recreated with a the
same mdl name, after you push on the device again.

It only takes props.
Errrm...I had a Quantum failure...

The rebel was torn away from the field before it collapsed, and is now stuck in limbo.
It's flipping awesome tough, being able to manipulate something from another dimension.
Edit:
Oh, also, I manged to destroy matter, by having a full one next to an empty one, and turn the full one on first, then the empty to suck it up. After the switch, when you try and your matter back...it's gone.
What if you put a camera inside the portal... :tinfoil:
P.S Oh, and it would be pretty cool if you would be able to shoot in it and the bullets would come back. :D
Lua king'd!
EDIT: But why the hell the file has been reported?
2 things, a it will simply be deleted...but I think seeing as it is an entity, it won't do anything.

No this prevents to have erros like try to call BLABLA (a nil variable)
Don't know if it's been posted, but you should make it reproduce whatever got sucked in in the same state that it was in. So the scene with Kliener in a "lab" should be perfectly recreated, NPC still "living" and all.
Who the hell reported this?
This is the best Quantum Storage Device I know of... Oh wait.
