EDIT: I see. Too bad the ropes won't stay if I QSD some props...
I love it =) but however when you put props in and take them out you can't undue the props =(
how come i can't make cars disappear by using this
Yeah, a short delay would be SERIOUSLY helpful, it gets annoying when I die after playing with it for a while. Although, its absolutely hilarious to suck up part of someone's ship in spacebuild. The whole thing goes to hell, lol.
Uhh excuse me this is AWESOME
1: Make it wireable
Wire would do what to make this better? Why does he need to make it wireable? Why not just add support for a number-pad button and an activation timer, then add in options such as impact sensitivity? There are much better routes than Wire, all which are simpler, stabler, and allow use by the entire population.
wht do i use to activate it in-game cause i cant find it
Press E on it or shoot it. If you can't spawn it, look around a little. You shouldn't have a hard time finding it. Also, fix your atrocious spelling. We use full words with proper punctuation here.
What do I use to activate it in-game because I can't find it?
...Else you lose points... Points which are for what, exactly? Who knows, that's the fun!
resource.AddFile() why don't i see them?? Come on why does no one do this for anything they code anymore.. Edit: Here is wrote it out for you. :D Anyways Great Job :) [lua] resource.AddFile("materials/effects/AnnahilationBomb.vmt") resource.AddFile("materials/effects/AnnahilationBomb.vtf") resource.AddFile("materials/effects/AnnahilationBombFull.vmt") resource.AddFile("materials/effects/AnnahilationBombFull.vtf") resource.AddFile("materials/effects/AnnahilationBombNor.vmt") resource.AddFile("materials/effects/AnnahilationParticle.vmt") resource.AddFile("materials/VGUI/entities/sent_QuantumStorageDevice.vmt") resource.AddFile("materials/VGUI/entities/sent_QuantumStorageDevice.vtf") resource.AddFile("sounds/BeerBomb/explosion.wav") resource.AddFile("sounds/BeerBomb/IdleSound.wav") [/lua]
May I ask why? It really helps the people who put stuff like this on their server.
Give it the power to suck in entities and vehicles.
Yes that is a good idea!!!And if you put a sharp object, like a harpoon, spike or saw blade, and you try to get them out they pop up with highter speed than the other objects. We can use this for zombie traps.oh and two more things.First of all why don't you make something like a weapon or a button, that you can use to use it from distance!!!!And why does it happen that when I shoot him it doesn't happen to suck everything in it.
It won't suck in SENTs or vehicles.
You can modify it.
Give it the power to suck in entities and vehicles.
Working on it. My updated version now stores position and angle of the objects sucked in. Trying to make it save ragdoll positions and angles to (it's a bit complicated).
Can you make a SWEP version of the sucking when you damage the Quantum Device?

You could connect it to a button or maybe a proximity sensor, but that's about it. And like you said there are more user-friendly ways of making it useful than by making it wire compatible.
Great work! Do more please.
See my video about the Quantum Storage Device! :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BdsmNcXFr8

It's what Gmod was originally, and how I believe it should stay.
These remind me a lot of capsules from Dragonball. I'm surprised no one has said that yet.
This is very good the way it is now but do you think there is any chance you could make it wire compatiable?
It was wire compatible to the start, make a wire user, and wire it to a button, and wire the button to the user, and it works, and it doesn't suck up wire objects either, so you're in luck lol
Sweet.
These remind me a lot of capsules from Dragonball. I'm surprised no one has said that yet.
Very few people in their right mind like Dragonball, so the chances it would be brought up are minimal.
hey there was things you could add 1 is does more damage to players. 2 if it kills a player their body should get sucked up. 3 should me able to release corpses after storing them. 4 sometimes while using it on npcs it would stop taking in bodyies after a little bit so some more room please. 5 sorry about all this but the last thing is when i use it none of the potals open (i cant see them). that is all and thank you for making this it was a lot of fun unleashing it in mcdonalds Edit: sorry but i had one more idea instead off killing the player it should absorb their body before they die and maybe try the tranquilizers ability to turn players into ragdolls mixed with the qsd storage but when they come out they are "untranquilized"
Player Bodies are client-side, so they can't be. Find a map that has something such as a large door on the ground or the like, a dynamic brush, then kill yourself over it, you'll fall straight through. They are only stopped by Brushes and displacements. Also, radiation is deadly. A nuclear bomb can kill you quickly just based on it's radiation, but that isn't even enough force to open a tear in reality. With the force that would be used to tear apart reality, you would die very quickly, no chance of survival.

It replaces you with a server sided ragdoll, but if you remove the ragdoll it screws the lua, in the game session, Sakarias, do just that and make sure there is an lua file to support the ragdoll removal, unless you make the ragdolls somehow stay in the world without being removed.
I found a bug, on some maps I see lightning pull the obgects in and on others I don't see it. Edit:
Errrm...I had a Quantum failure... The rebel was torn away from the field before it collapsed, and is now stuck in limbo. It's flipping awesome tough, being able to manipulate something from another dimension. Edit: Oh, also, I manged to destroy matter, by having a full one next to an empty one, and turn the full one on first, then the empty to suck it up. After the switch, when you try and your matter back...it's gone.
that's happend to me too
Very few people in their right mind like Dragonball, so the chances it would be brought up are minimal.
You're on the internet, the number of "people in their right mind" is amazingly low. Also, old Dragonball was funny. Dragonball Z on the other hand was Yelling, Fighting and "Powering up" for episodes on end.
I would lower the damage a little, this kinda makes it unuseable. Or make a warmup timer to GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE.
Or, if it ever becomes able to take players, GET THE HELL IN THERE. Edit: Exactly how sensitive is the QSD? Because those people who wanted a swep, why not just punt it at somewthing with the gravity gun?
