IT OUT! no. it isnt... i bet its coming on christmas, as is black mesa source, seeing as we know it was just a prank to scare people away so they would save bandwidth when they released.

EDIT: while searching the gmod wiki i discovered the add angle velocity function. and with this, i created a new pod stabalization system. so in the next update, you will be able to hit the skybox without tumbling out of control. maybe two versions for people to choose if they want to risk death to land or if they just want to drop saftly. A question will it be controlled like the BF 2142 pod as in mouse to look, WASD to drive?

Also, if you hit the ground too fast, maybe the person inside should die?
I like that manual stabilize idea. maybe have it so if it starts to tilt or flip on drop, it starts flashing a red light and a small warning alarm like the one from the game, and you press r to correct the flight path. But have it that after it corrects the flight path it turns back off and won't turn back on, so if you screw up again your..well...screwed.
I like the idea for a button to stabilize.
No stabilize. I like to make it real. With the pod to malfunction, as in halo 3, it would be truthful to the Halo Facts. only 3 of 5 odst pods survive.

Because the odds of dieing are kinda high. vote ends here in conclusion, how about the pod will not have stabalization when first launched and is in free fall. but if it is hit or flipped during free fall, it will automatically deploy it's chute which will stabalize it. and how about a manual override toggle button that allows you to change the course of the pod and be able to deploy the chute when ever you want and fire the thrusters when ever you want. but when you turn manual override off, you can't do anything exept for look around, not even move the pod. this adds a challange when you move the pod because you will also have to manually deploy the chutes.

hmm, i think the "X out of Y" survival rate needs to be more like 9 out of 10. you would most likely survive, but there would still be a risk of dieing upon impact.

I want an Asus desktop for Christmas, halo books, books: Fall of Reach, The Cole Protocol. I also want Forza 3, Borderlands, and best of all, The goriest, [Prototype]. (lol, /caps spam)[/QUOTE] sorry, D= D= D= the odst pod will not be released on christmas, theres still a lot of coding to be done. it will have a pod bay that respawns a new pod after the old pod launches. unfortunatly i have to proccess that model because the halo decompiler messes up the UVs. btw, the pod v1b is comming out on christmas, it will have a new and better stabalization system and the doors of the launcher will be parented with the body. The drag shoot would be hard, and making it go into the ground, too.[/QUOTE] drag chute is actually one of the easiest parts, it playes the animations and slows down the pod's velocity. making it go into the ground is also easy, thanks to havok physics. you can ask rentehdragon about the pod model because he is the only person other than me who has access to it. i just cut off the physics model of the pod up to the part that you sit in so the bottom part of the pod doesn't colide with the ground. see the picture i posted with the metro cop in it, the smoke blocks it, but you can kinda notice the pod is stuck in the ground. won't be here for to answer your questions in the next 7 hours, going paintballing =D.

I realize these things take time(I'm currently working on a Starship Troopers drop ship, and its very slow going on the coding front, but at least the models done :p) so take your time, ill bet this makes front page on Gmod.org! Bad to the ass on the ODST pod, in more ways than one (and the initial meaning good). Only real problem is the low-res mess of textures on the inside, but i'm pretty sure most can live with it. When it gets released (if it does), inb4 advanced dupes that replicate the inner-screen features. :v:
I GOT MAH ASUS! Wow. It is the highest performance pc I have ever seen. I have an integrated graphics, so not good for games yet.
