So question then...how do I get the railgun to do this with the current release? Or should it be able to do this already?
v1.3 has wire inputs and outputs (wiremod required)
1-why is it purple? it was better with the ar2 tracer
2-it conflicts with gcombat-i only use gcombat so i can use the spacebuildmodelpack2, but the gcombat railgun stops yours from appearing
3- it needs to overheat slightly faster
4 sometimes when i get in it kicks me out, stop this

normal gcombat doesn't conflict, just gcombat extended(GCX)

I'm sorry, but that doesn't help me to just say something's there with which to do it.
I mean what do I need, where do I find it, and what goes where, etc. in order to get something that looks like that video?

it may be gcombat extended that is causing the clash not gcombat core, i havent played gcombat but i need it for the spacebuild expansion pack (which is amazing)
Spawn railgun, TargetFinder, SensorBeacon and for example dual input(set key 1 and toggle option), (from wire tab). Right click on sensorbeacon and on targetfinder (with sensorbeacon tool). Wire railgun pitch to beacon elevation and yaw to the bearing. Wire active and fire to the dual input. Now, press ur key (for example numpad 1) and railgun will shoot to you :)
GCombat suck. It has some bugs so i dont know if its gcombat or my railgun. I will try to do something...

PS yes maybe GCombat suck(s) but it is required for SBMP weapons to work.

This was much more helpful (I found most of the things you said to find) but I'm still confused as to some of what I need to do and how to put it all together.
For example, I see I need to spawn the Target Finder and Beacon Sensor from the Wire tab, but do I go ahead and attach those to anything?
Sorry for my poor skills. I don't get to mess around with the game enough to learn via experience so some things that seem like easy steps for everyone else for me requires some extra explanation to get it across.
Thanks to anyone who has the patience to help a noob out. I'd LOVE to have this feature for my single player games.
PS: I might have missed something going through all that (I didn't read the "what to spawn" list correctly) so I'll give it another go or two but any help is still [B]greatly[/B] appreciated.
EDIT: I got most of the way. I didn't realize all of these objects had actions attached to them! I'm running into a bit of trouble now with getting the thing to track an object. It may be the "Wire railgun pitch to beacon elevation and yaw to the bearing." part. I got to the point where I found the "pitch" and "yaw" settings in the Wire tool, but I think I'm not understanding what has to be wired to what. ?? It's firing on automatic, but it's in a straight line almost directly in line with where it spawned. Again, any help is greatly appreciated. :)
Take Advanced Wire or just wire tool. Click on my gun, and by right clicking go to pitch. Left click for apply. Then click on Beacon and again right clicks and choose elevation. Left click for apply. Do the same thing for Yaw - Bearing :)

If it was, wouldn't they mention it in the readme?.. and.. I use the sbmp weaps just fine, and I ain't got gcombat... (at least not what I could find in my addons)..

Could you change pitch and yaw to x, y and z, a lot of people are more familiar with co-ordinates.

Yes this is late (go ahead and rate clocks). I don't like CDE. It is weird an requires you to spawn some big ass generator to work. I like this because it does't need power. Also CDE doesn't work well with LS3.
This is cool railgun, cant wait till it comes out of beta and all the bugs are worked out.
v1.3 still has problems for me when I get in it, its even harder to get out of then the previous version. I end up having to undo it but then im stuck with the hud until i respawn. Also did u remove the mouse aim because ctrl doesnt change to mouse aim? One other thing (just curious) why did u change the fire button from mouse1 to space?

If wire took that from LUA, than I think I might know it.
Also, quick question. I didn't download 1.3 yet, did it get rid of the really loud *WHIRRRRRR BEEP* sound thing? Or at least make it quieter?
sharp06, yes, there are problems with exiting, still. And yes, i have no idea why, but ctrl make that u cant use USE key, previously, everything was fine. U fire with space in WSAD mode, mouse1 was with mouse controlling.

i supposedly have a good on screen recorder but have no idea how to use it. New computer n all. If I find out I can record the rail gun sounds from the dvd episodes of "The Siege".
