Nevermind, 1.3 changed it somehow, but I don't know exactly how. And can anyone else Undo the entity? I can't for some reason.
Hmm there is some error in console? It should work fine. I will work on hud's ending animation, it suck. Finally, i figured out, how to use applyangforce so I can control it by pitch/yaw or x/y/z (still working on in) :)
I uploaded new version. I changed whole physic, so now u can move/turn/drop/throw with physgun. Its completly wirable - control it by XYZ, Vector, Bearing Elevation, Angle, but still there are few problems with wire controllin (when u turn stand part).
Anyway, let me know about bugs, and gcx compatibility.
If someone has time, could they post a video tutorial on how to make the railgun track something and fire on it? I'm trying and trying and I'm just not getting it.
Thanks!
@madman07:
could you remove v1.1 and v1.2 from garrysmod.org because its hard to know if that is the newest now or not
How new tracer looks like? I have a little problem with visibility - sometimes i see my tracer (if i look on railgun or on target) and sometimes not. How to repair that? I looked on zat/staff/ori and asgard beam code and i dont know what to do.

Epic tracer, keep this one! And do your best to make it work properly, this one is AWESOME!
its supposed to go blue really quickly
epic tracer really cool
Thanks guys. Now, I will work on better model, textures and sounds. If someone have nice textures/sound - please help :) Today i figured out, hot to use tracer with aVoN shields and changed colour a bit, look:

Nice! A little long, though.
Nice! A little long, though.
Yeah, just a little bit shorter and it's perfect :downsbravo:
it looks like a lightsaber gun
i think the energy is supposed to be more transparent at the end
Agreed, just a little shorter ^^
Also, I'll check out for sounds in Stargate : Atlantis movies
I still can't get this thing to track me. I wire everything up but the railgun just wants to shoot straight into the air.
Could someone who's got it working post a detailed tutorial on how to get it working. No offense, Madman07, but I can't follow your instructions too well to get it working correctly.

Did U wired Active input to something? Wire it to constant value, or dual input, whatever. It need to be logic 1 to activate railgun.
Yea, on that screens it's look like lightsaber, lol :) But in game it move quickly :)

Here's a video of what I tried to do. You'll have to forgive the video quality and size. I'm using some freeware programs to record my screen and chop the video down to a manageable size. Also, I was running a number of programs and forgot to close them out until after I got done recording. (that should also explain the jerky/slow movements)

You may have to maximize it and possibly just play it at full-screen. Again, a result of the software I used to cut the video down to the necessary part.
Does that help anyone see what I'm doing wrong?
DId u spawned Beacon sensor on shooting part? If yes then it wont work. Spawn Beacon on the ground, place it over railgun and weld to the stand part - then it will work :)
Btw. what map is it?
Btw. what map is it?
Here you go:http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=834284
It's an atlantis map made by bunglist.
Id defiantly like to see some screenshots of it in the first post.
How about a video about your Rail gun?
Soon, very soon. Give me just time to finish modela and textures and i will make some vid :)
P.S. I just added Entity input so its really easy to connect railgun to target finder without beacon sensor :)

Will a tutorial of sorts be in the video on how to do this? I've tried about every possible combination of things you've suggested with the current version and nothing wants to work (unless I want it to shoot straight into the air, then it works wonders. :p )
-snip
I could try to pull something like this together etc.. what do you need explained?
I just need to see how everything is spawned, wired, etc. About the only thing I can do halfway competently is wiring the Dual Input so I can fire the gun remotely (and from that, learned how to force it to reload remotely so I don't have to do that manually).
I've got a video a few posts up showing what I'm doing to try and get it to work. I've tried a few other things since then but nothing's worked.
I appreciate any insight you have to get this working. :)
I will make some vid within 10-15 minuts.

I'd definitely not say defiantly in place of definitely.
Waiting for the video...

I don't see the need of dual-input if only using one key?..
U can put button, constant value, E2, whatever. I always use dual input, cuz I like it :)
