EPIC. This is great for my friends who aren't so computer savvy. :D Thanks!
Wow....This is amazing, now I don't have to enter the link and SVN checkout anymore.I think anybody can use this,I should have found this out before I was using tortoise. +REP
I think download & install feture would be great!
Nice man! Keep upp the good work! Oh, The title realy explains it all, Easy as pie.
This might be a very stupid question, but does this support CVS? As I have a CVS Repository I'd like to download (Orbiter graphics enhancer...)
It's taking practically weeks to load on my machine. And my machine is custom high quality.
but it doesnt is a virus or somthin cos you know all the other svn thingies
svn was easy enough already
Figured I'd give it a spin. Would be better if you released it in a standalone jar along with source code for those of us who aren't super-comfortable with a random GM player having write access to our hard drives. I would imagine grabbing cached Steam login data is relatively simple. (No offense intended, just giving an observation) So, onward with the usage ... Froze up my Firefox 2.0.0.20 [XP] machine, then crashed out the browser. On my Firefox 3.0.7 [Server 2003] machine, it became a clickable area, but never displayed anything.
Q: It doesn't load/my browser freezes/the program freezes! A: I've extensively tested it in Firefox 3.0.6 with the latest version of Java installed and it worked. Google chrome is still in BETA, so there are bound to be bugs, by the way. Oh and IE6 sucks.
There are entire cartoons devoted to "well, it works on my machine" developers. If you're interested in improving your code's compatibility, you might want to ask them for JRE versions, browser versions, etc. etc... From the thread, it looks like it works for a number of people, so keep it up :)

I've only created it to ease the headaches and make SVN more convenient to use with Garry's Mod. I can assure you that it's not trying to do anything behind your back, e.g. steal your info or anything like that, even though I'm new to the "Garry's Mod scene". It doesn't touch anything outside of your addons folder. It will probably be released open-source some time in future.
So, onward with the usage ... I've downloaded opera and chrome to test it and it works: http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/5324/chromer.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/9421/operae.jpg The only reason I can think of would be an outdated software. I tested it on JRE version 1.6.0_11 and 1.6.0_12 with the latest browser versions: FF 3.0.7, Chrome 1.0.154.48, Opera 9.64 There's nothing else I can do, really...
svn was easy enough already
I agree, I understood the concept and usage fairly quickly when I discovered its awesomeness two years ago, but I doubt that non-computer-savvy people would think of it as easy. This is also good for lazy people.
I think download & install feture would be great!
I considered doing that, but currently an applet gives me more benefits, such as quick updates and ads. I might make it a standalone, downloadable application in future.
This might be a very stupid question, but does this support CVS? mhh ok lol
@see Dave_Parker's post.

How so? It's simply stating that it uses the SVN protocol instead of mindlessly re-downloading everything ergo being better than where most "Easy SVN updaters" failed.
That's basically what SVN is all about...
Can someone please just give me the URL so I can get this!?!?!
That's basically what SVN is all about...
It could also be falsely advertised with SVN exporting or just basic crawling and downloading of the web directory. Is that paragraph really such a big deal?
The URL is kinda hidden, I had to study the first post to get it.
CAN you make an SVN version?
what would be nice is if a server can give you a URL and you put it in your browser and it auto-selects the files you need for that server when you visit the link, and you just click update. (after initial cfg of course)
Thank you! this updated my wire to revision 966 in minutes! but its taking FOREVER to update phx. WHY?
If it's possible, you should add in ftp support.
Thank you! this updated my wire to revision 966 in minutes! but its taking FOREVER to update phx. WHY?
Its cause could be the download speed, a busy SVN server, "net hiccups", etc. I'll add a download status bar in a future update so people can take a glance at the progress of their download(s).
what would be nice is if a server can give you a URL and you put it in your browser and it auto-selects the files you need for that server when you visit the link, and you just click update.
If it's possible, you should add in ftp support.
I could turn this into an AIO (All-In-One) package with FTP, SVN and CVS in the summer holidays xD
I'll add a download status bar in a future update so people can take a glance at the progress of their download(s).
Learn how SVN works. That is not possible with SVN.
Learn how SVN works. That is not possible with SVN.
Err yeah it could, in a way. SVN can check which files are out of date, then display how many files have been updated and how many are left. Basic progression.
Is ist down? I can not open any of the links.
Sorry, just started working again.
Err yeah it could, in a way. SVN can check which files are out of date, then display how many files have been updated and how many are left. Basic progression.
SVN checks a file, updates it, so you can't say how many have to be updated, added or removed at the start.
Learn how any form of downloading works.
Learn how SVN works before you join an argument about it.
If you were to even try and add a status bar it would always show 100% if I'm correct, as like Overv said, it checks as it goes through, and you can't make it check at the start I don't think.
Hey guys, probably a stupid question but it won't auto-detect my Garry's Mod directory and most of the buttons do not work. :/ Script blocker is set to allow the page and I'm running Firefox 3.0.5 on Vista x64. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: Was going to try it on IE, but the site no longer seems to be working properly. EDIT2: The site is now back. It works in IE but not Firefox.
Where is the garrysmod directory located?
Where is the garrysmod directory located?
I think it actually means the addons folder as it downloads directly to the folder you specify.
Learn how SVN works. That is not possible with SVN.
Wait and see, sir.
