Play on a map with nodes.
Doesn't Gm_construct have nodes though?
I have a problem! The headcrabs or antlions don't eat the melons? I tried it on gm_flatgrass because i wasnt sure were to start! XD Instead they, after they are mature and need food, run on top the melon and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, lay an egg, wait, wait, wait, wait, watch egg hatch, wait some more then die and it repeats again and again and again! Help?
you need nodes try gm_construct or bigcity
... Ar.. and if you want to have more people download you need to explain in the Gmod.org file because they don't know what the hell is this addon
+Agree People are too lazy to go onto face punch, if you want it to take of you need to have a decent description for garrysmod.org, it's ok to copy and paste between releases and update whats changed, thats what I do for my thing on garrysmod :) Also... keep up the good work :P EDIT: now I know what I forgot Can you put so that the headcrabs/antlions cannot reproduce when they have <x> amount of hunger edit: slight build on from the above, could you add another convar on whether they'll attack/hate their parent :) (for those who want their babies to love them, and their babies to hate their neighbors :P) edit #3: Btw, nice logo :)
I think you should use the CSS orange model for headcrab eggs, it's just that much less awkward. Also, how come nobody thought about doing this with the real egg layer on the NPC tab, birds?
Doesn't Gm_construct have nodes though?
Yes it does(I thought flat_grass also had nodes, but after realizing combine soldiers actually moved while in gm_construct was amazing,I've been trying to get them to move for ages!*starts a NPC WAR!* also, nice addon ;p

Clay pidgin shooting :) PULLL! *BANG!* :D, jks Actually, i have no idea

The watermelons sometimes kill the fast headcrabs because the fast headcrabs jump on the watermelon too fast.
The watermelons sometimes kill the fast headcrabs because the fast headcrabs jump on the watermelon too fast.
Yeah. That's annoying.
Could you add this? headcrap can eat meat like human or combine remove ragdoll when it eat them
Would be cool if they also could get sick. Like, if a headcrab or antillion is close to a corpse, they would have an X% chance of getting infected, where they would start to get aggressive at everything, and have a large chance of infecting more headcrabs/antillions. And the cure could be food that they'd reject unless they were hungry and had no other food... also, perhaps they could start eat meat, but at the return of being allot more aggressive or such. I'm sorry for throwing to many.. perhaps bad ideas, at this. But this is very interesting, so I'd love to see it being developed into something big and great.
The watermelons sometimes kill the fast headcrabs because the fast headcrabs jump on the watermelon too fast.
The Script's form of Natural Selection. After all, what's realistic about EVERY headcrab maturing and laying eggs? Would get boring quickly without these little Golden Nuggests in the code xD Also: Headcrab Vs. Antlion Wars are EPIC. Especially on Atomic. Place a few melon Plants and An egg of either species on either side of the Map's "Beach" areas. Wait five minutes and watch the War. Unless the Headcrab Egg is a Fastie and kills itself on a melon first xD Also: would remaking the Gmod9 RP Item Script be possible? Re-releases seem to be at the top of Everybody's Popular List Just an Idea: When a Antlion reaches the Age of 100, it has a 1/40 chance of becoming an Antguard. Practically Ageless. These fellas may lay new Colonies, as when one is Created. All egg production stops. And the Antlions must bring their Guard food. When a Headcrab reaches the age of 50, it has a 1/10 chance of becoming it's corresponding Zombie. From therein it stops laying eggs, and requires to kill an enemy NPC every 5 minutes to continue it's life until up to 100. If either of the Corresponding Colonies fail to transform to their latter, the NPC dies.
Yeah. That's annoying.
Yes. Needs to be fixed
Also try making it so that the headcrabs and antlions die by hunger if they have no melons before having eggs. If you spawn like 10 headcrabs with no food at all they just keep on laying eggs before they starve and the population still increases without food. Also can you make the distance the animals hunt for watermelons much longer. It sucks when i'm trying to have a territory war with antlions and headcrabs and none of them hunt watermelons more than 20 feet really. If you tried to put few watermelon plants on each colony and put a whole bunch of them in the middle enticing them to eat at the middle, they will just wait for more melons at their place and have many of their population starve to death instead of eating at the middle with the headcrabs making a battle over the melons which would be awesome. Also make antlions not collide with eachother. When an antlion is born it dies when the other antlion is over the egg. This can lead to problems because the antlions do not move at all even on noded maps unless they have to eat and they could just lay their eggs on the floor where they ate and kill their own spawn by standing over them.
Looks like a pretty solid addon and innovative ideas to boot, even if it's been done before. So, with everyone making all these suggestions and assumptions, my question is; Is this addon going to be worked on and updated? Eventully expanded to new levels such as perhaps Human colonies?
Heh, pretty fun during those dull moments in gmod :P Suggestions... What about the Antlion grub nugget for an egg? Make them eat more food, pumpkins, milk, etc. Maybe have older, hungrier headcrabs eat / kill smaller ones, and antlions the same, except with antlions and headcrabs. would make it pretty interesting... Maybe different races? for example, there's 3 different headcrabs already. If I put a normal headcrab over in the dark room in construct, and a fast headcrab over in the bright room of construct, they'd eventually wander into each other and fight for supremecy, since they're different races.. y/n?
they wont eat now they stand and dont do anything
I normaly don't bother with lua stuff, but damn i'm getting this might give me a larf.
I don't like Antlion but i Love Headcrap XD
Can you make it so if you have 2 different colonies of headcrabs, they attack each other in a family feud battle!
Kewl. Interesting idea.
they wont eat now they stand and dont do anything
Go onto a map with nodes, like construct.
If a headcrab kills a human, the human should respawn as a zombie. The headcrab that kills the human disappears and the human that was killed has a chance to turn into either a fastie, a normal, a poison, or a zombine.
How about an option for making the colonies not food dependent, it would stop the colonies from congregating around the plants and spread them out a bit.
How about an option for making the colonies not food dependent, it would stop the colonies from congregating around the plants and spread them out a bit.
Yeah but if they weren't that would take the fun out of antlions and headcrabs territory war for melons.
REALLY LAGGY Its a head Humper! Ownage Addon. You should do what mattyK said, its a good idea.

Danharibo, will you try out those ideas every gives? Especially the longer food hunt distance. This mod is great already and it can be far more badass :)
