What a great job danharibo! i love it! and i saw how you mentioned you didn't continue to work on this after a while for you poor lua skillz or some sort but i have to disagree with you on that i think you have excellent lua skills!Keep up the good work!

Too bad there isn't a lua command similar to what is included in the standard info.txt... Like GCFRequires {"0""420" eggmodel = blah blah blah melonplantmodel = blah blah blah} Else {eggmodel = blah blah blah.... You get the idea.
Very nice. Very fun. Though needs a humanoid group. And the possibility of nests, or shelters where the headcrabs or antlions go to lay eggs... I know this would be much but it would add an exciting element to a very nice addon. Some problems. the headcrabs and ant lions don't die in water if they have already hatched. they just flail around until hunger kills them. And this needs a cleanup command because removing the extra props manually after a big colony is annoying.
I think you should take this mod to the next level with headcrab and antlion sex.

Coincidences possible as I'm pretty sure Danharibo isn't the first one - but this is truest to the Colony Mod's original form.

BWAHAHAHAHAH.... but seriously. love it still.
Ouh lol on my friends server we put them in a cage, put hunger off, waited some time, and some of the headcrabs got out of the cage and went to the left of the lake in gm_construct and started there own place. Also even though it isn't big, maybe you should add more random names?
My headcrabs do not eat anything. They die. I've tested this on noded maps.

I have these settings in a cfg file: co_headcrab_lifetime "300" co_headcrab_hunger "60" co_headcrab_eggtime "10" co_headcrab_maturetime "100" co_headcrab_pregtime "40" co_headcrab_max "25" co_antlion_lifetime "600" co_antlion_hunger "90" co_antlion_eggtime "30" co_antlion_pregtime "60" co_antlion_maturetime "240" co_antlion_max "20" The console says that the *_lifetime is unknown, and soon as the eggs turned into the creature, they rush to feed, and die. :| The melon plant doesn't have a model, i get a red ERROR sign -.- I readed the lua file, i need a models/props_foliage/bush2.mdl model. I dont have hl2, just css and gmod10. I welded some melons together, and now they dont kill the creatures, when they hump on it. Just the last one some times... but i have a better birth/death ratio ^^ And i can spawn more food at a time, because i duplicate them.
Ideas: 1. Make some Egg spawners, that spawn 3 eggs when all the headcrab/antlion population is at 0 or any number you can decide at an convar. 2. Make some antiheadcrab/antiantlion stuff. 1 Which only kills / scares headcrabs and viceversa. I want to have like 2 "fortresses", one for antlions one for headcrabs, where the eggspawners and only 1 plant are. And then many plants in the middle and watch the infinite war. That would be cool.
i have the food problem to they dont want to eat most of them isnt even moving they just sit in one spot
You know, this could be merged with GMS as farming. But anyways nice mod, I was wondering if you could make a tool too command headcrabs. Why? Let's use a example say we have "Jim" he keeps killing your helpless headcrabs, let's say one time he trys it again, suddenly they all leap out and kill him.
