Update Temporary server will be hosting Morbus until it is finished. Then it will be hosted on another server owned by my client. I may or may not host the gamemode on other servers depending on how well and the conditions of the other server. Until then feel free to play on the temp server. The IP address is: 69.162.88.104:27015 Thank the steam user M4RK for his kind contribution of the server. See OP for more information. Just played the test as well, it's a lot of fun, just a few things need to be changed/added but it's A+, highly recommend it!
alien teamkilling is such a bitch especially when you're brood and get knocked back down to swarm
Beta Gameplay video WARNING: Excessive swearing at some parts
Everything looking really nice but I think that swarm aliens are waaaaay to overpowered I was sure that they were made to be a distraction from the brood alien himself, not as the attacking force
Everything looking really nice but I think that swarm aliens are waaaaay to overpowered I was sure that they were made to be a distraction from the brood alien himself, not as the attacking force
I agree the have a bit too much damage. They aren't supposed to kill 1v1 unless the human is very distracted. They are meant to only be a threat when in groups. What i think ill do is make swarm aliens take 25% increased damage. Also lower their damage output so they only do 12 damage a hit compared to 20. Also im thinking that brood aliens doing 22 damage is a bit low so after a bit more testing i may increase it. Also i finished the pictures I'm going to be using as the "Quick Guide" ===================================================================== ===================================================================== ===================================================================== ===================================================================== ===================================================================== =====================================================================
i like
Nice! The only thing I didn't see in the video is the eat/sleep system, and I am very interested in it [editline]30th September 2011[/editline] I think you should also make the swarm aliens slower than a human
Swarm aliens are bad enough as it is, and you have guns while they dont. And the reason why needs weren't showcased is probably because they're annoying as fuck.
@Chuck Needs prevent losers from camping in one place at all times. If you like camping in a room with your gun pointed at the door go play TTT. @superstepa Swarm aliens are 10 units slower than humans. However guns weigh down humans which makes humans move slower. The whole eat/sleep thing is very basic, as you see in the video the top left will display a need. You need to go find the place to complete that need, press E, and wait a few seconds.
Maybe it was just the map then, but reaching some needs were close to impossible in the time allotted.
Of course its the map. Not all maps will/are that way.
I also suggest that when you REALLY want to sleep, your screen blacks out for ~10 seconds and you can't move. In The Ship it worked perfectly, and if the waiting times are not that bad it is not even annoying
Lookin' Good Rem.
As an alternative to not taking 1 damage per second?
Yes I don't know how will this affect the game balance tho I suggest that you can fall asleep when health is below 20
If your reading this then come play Morbus! I just updated the server to the latest version! IP: 69.162.88.104:27015
I can vouch for this. Game is surprisingly really fun. Nothing beats being the brood alien in disguise with a group of 8 other humans, waiting for your two other alien friends to help get some more aliens - only to find out they're both fucking AFK.

Recorded more game play footage This one is of an entire round that lasted 6:30 While i was a human at the start, i was infected very early on. Ill try to explain some of my actions in the video via annotations.
You suck at hiding as the alien, Rem. I was the first alien and hid with a group of ten or so people for nearly five minutes. :v: Aliens would have won that game if the first two guys I killed hadn't of decided to go AFK almost right away. [editline]fish[/editline] Wait, is the barnacle pulling sound the sound of an alien healing?

Well it sorta sounds like breathing. :3

Recorded a lot more footage. And i have a wonderful video to explain why you SHOULDNT rdm.
Recorded a lot more footage. And i have a wonderful video to explain why you SHOULDNT rdm.
ROFL the aliens didn't even have to do anything we were all so paranoid that we killed eachother LOL
ROFL the aliens didn't even have to do anything we were all so paranoid that we killed eachother LOL
Yeah and then the swarm alien came in and infected someone who was about to die. Such great timing.
Update: The current server that Morbus was hosting on is needed by its owner to host TTT for his community he just started. This leaves Morbus server-less. If anyone would like to host Morbus (certain conditions apply) then please contact me. Also if you would like to donate to pay for a new server then please contact me as well and we can work out the details.
