How about something original?
because roleplay gamemodes are totally original
Like sandbox?
no like Meteor defense, that flood gamemode, spacebuild, games that have you actually use props to overcome challenges and let you actually use the toolgun and everything honestly the gmod server browser is dominated by RP servers
How about something original?
thats basically what i meant
I would also like some more gamemodes with more focus on the "game" part :v: Man... I miss Melon Racers in gmod9... Never the less, since this is a thread about RP gamemodes, that is a matter for another discussion. Like I said earlier though, I do wish people could make RP gamemodes where the focus was on the game part.
I miss wood wars

If it was then there would be no overused gamemodes. It's flooded with DarkRP not RP. If the server browser was flooded by RP gamemodes then every community would have had heir own gamemode, completely different from the others'.

What he's saying is the server browser has many RP servers in it, no matter what gamemode.
One of the most boring things about most roleplaying gamemodes is that you're so lonely all the time. You try to survive by your own, you do stuff to make yourself better, you build your own things. You don't need other players a lot, this is really fucking boring and isolated. Force players to depend on each other, one of the things that makes DarkRP work so well is the fact that a lot of the classes actually have unique abilities that forces other players to need their services and interact with them. DarkRP's downfall isn't that it's dumb, it's that it's easily exploitable. Making a gamemode using a similar system to DarkRP will only attract retarded players if you don't balance the classes to not have too much power over other players. More gamemodes should use classes, it gives players a role instead of forcing them to make one up.
Not realy. There have to be predefined jobs but you should learn that there are people who just want to RP and buy things from the others.
I personally think that little classes like, for example, the Chef in PERP, you can just go and buy your food, defeating the purpose, people need to depend on others. I'm questioning scripting NPCs to fulfil this.
An RP that takes advantage over GMod's building capabilities, but still keeps it serious (to a certain point, not overly serious, e.g. TnB).
