some devices should be probably removed in gmod13, because it just will not work... Like cloaking generator (damn you garry).
I'm no coder, but couldn't you just do something like "find range" "props in range = color 0" (transparent) [editline]6th October 2012[/editline]
@cartman300, don't talk bullshit. It doesn't. I coded that part myself. @AlexALX, all that brings us to the point, that cap should be rewrited with serious care about stability and other shit. @cartman300, I don't think you're gonna find any info about it. You can try to debug model files or just use some other more popular format, like 3ds or obj.
Quality > quantity
I'm no coder, but couldn't you just do something like "find range" "props in range = color 0" (transparent)
transparent in gmod13 worls only for props and ents with render group _BOTH. Everything else just going to black without transparent. This is gmod13 bug what garry don't fix from first beta versions! So its him fail. And i can't do nothing with lua to fix it.

I guess that means there is no invisible material also then. It was fun getting my friend to color me invisible and annoy people on bad servers :v:
I can't get cap to work. The menu screen looks like this http://tinypic.com/r/rw52k6/6 and I can;t access single player or anything in the entities and all other tabs in that area. (User was permabanned for this post ("Pirated Gmod" - MaxOfS2D))
I have naquadah bottle in my own pack if you're interested, also it includes some wire shit and changable point of origins (from wire) and some other stuff. https://stargate-accessories.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
Your Naquadah bottle is basically a mini zpm. (does it ever run out or power?) I was looking for something that would refill the naquadah reserves of the naquadah generator... And I don't understand your "ahem" "wire shit" and anything else in your pack sorry. On a side note I don't understand the "unstable-ness" of the mk II naquadah gen. It seems like is perfictly stable to me. It only uses naquadah when it needs to and I have never had it blow up on me (besides shooting it)
What? It works well. My bro has cracked gmod (not me, i have legit) and it took him 10 seconds to disable your "protection". It is lame >.> Don't make a better one. Remove it.
Only because he knows lua. For those, who can't code, it's a protection they cannot beat. There is no other way to do it, since all users have free access to source code for everything in CAP. It's why I would love to see some kind of compiled language instead of interpreted lua. It would give security, stability and speed... As for that model lioading, seriously try other file format. OBJ is really simple to start with. I even wrote some obj loader (hovewer it didn't interpreted uv's, normals, tangents and binormals since i didn't needed it).
Compiled scripts would have a major disadvantage. If one downloads an old addon which is no longer developed he would not be able to fix it.
And tons of advantages. Speed, no stealing the code, no disabling antipiracy protections, more idiot proof :)
While it would prevent people from stealing your code and disabling your anti-piracy protection it would also prevent competent developers from fixing errors that annoy them. I do however agree on your previous statement where you mentioned it would be better to re-write CAP.
I bet there would be decompilers for that sort of a language.
Anyone can use a decompiler so compiling the code would still not help.
Damn, i really wish GMod could load .net modules. I could do really usefull stuff. >.>
Sure, but not everyone could do forward engineering (translating asm code to lua). Especially, that someone is a bad person and would code it in assembler (like me, I doubt you could translate it back without any knowledge) :D And those advanced coders fixing bugs - they simply could ask for source or even better - source could be free for all (still, most of noobs would have no idea how to compile files after making changes) :) Anyway, those discussion is pointless right now...
You probably have to decompile the models and export into whatever format you want.
FBX is a cross-platform file format made to bridge several formats but obviously there's a big problem: Valve doesn't supply the source files of their models.. But I guess it could be possible with all the CAP 3ds files.
would someone explain the difference between the mk 1 and mk 2 naquada generators? Besides there power output. Is there also anyway to refill the generators?
would someone explain the difference between the mk 1 and mk 2 naquada generators? Besides there power output. Is there also anyway to refill the generators?
Mk2 generator can explode if it's power output is set to more than 200% or something like that. Power output percentage can be controlled via wire on Mk2. There is no way to refill the generators (yet).
Wtf dude, you failed. You are talking about my modified Naquadah Generator Mk2. Original one doesen't have energy output control feature.
Unless your part of the CAP team I believe not.
Only 1 post in 20 hrs? Anyway I was wondering if someone here could tell me how to make life support devices run faster using wire. I used to know But I seem to have forgotten. I am pretty sure I use a constant value chip but I forgot the other chip I need to use and how to set it up. On a side note I think that SBEP breaks water pumps for LS2 can anyone confirm?
Wtf dude, you failed. You are talking about my modified Naquadah Generator Mk2. Original one doesen't have energy output control feature.
Really? I didn't played with CAP in a while so i actually forgot. xD
No post in 21 hours... so, how's the project boba?
No post in 21 hours... so, how's the project boba?
In the concept part, need to think of something that would fit cap but is on the other side also cool and sleek... oh well sooner or later I'll think of something...
Who likes this metrocop drawing I did. A bit tacky. Did my best with shading.
@Orrila how far are you with the offline wiki? Might you be able to make it in PDF format or so?
@Orilla Wow, the metrocop just looks like this one: I think all you did is add toon shading.

If you did not notice, It is a little more to the left.
I can do PDF. I do not have adobe but I do have serif pageplus. I have only done a bit on offline wiki. I only started about a week ago, when I decided to stop working on the website wiki completely and do the offline one. I can do it in about a week for an offline HTML wiki. Maybe 2 for a PDF, but not promises. I am very busy with school work but I will do what I can when I can. I will do more on it today.
And I did another drawing (and btw cart, no I did not, I just pictured them then opened in paint, save as png):
