You really should read prev pages...
yeah, well. No-one wants to spend their time looking through old facepunch pages.
Hello ! I want to replace the sound of stargate opening (cap_resources/sound/stargate/gate_open.mp3) by this one : cap_resources/sound/stargate/stargate/eh/eh_usual_open.wav I converted it into mp3 and renamed it in gate_open.mp3, but nothing happend, I mean there is no more sound of stargate opening (sg1 only). Of course I made a save of the original sound. What do I have to do to make it work ?
Because you should save cap convars (limits) to server.cfg. Its can't be auto-saved. Already said this many times... You really should read prev pages...
I said i saved it in the config file, but it doesnt work :(
i really really wanna try his but i never get it installed correctly [editline]13th January 2013[/editline] tortoiseSVN is useless at getting it done, if i had a better SVN i wonder if it would actually not take a week
It's not about TortoiseSVN, it's about your internet speed.
Takes a few hours to download cap, so take a cup of tea, sit down, and relax.
Takes a few hours to download cap, so take a cup of tea, sit down, and relax.
ok [editline]14th January 2013[/editline] thing is, it only does one thing, after that it wont let me do SVN checkout so i dont get it done, and can someone tell me where to go to get WireMod? im guessing garrysmod.org but i cant be sure
I said i saved it in the config file, but it doesnt work :(
Are you using this for sp or listen server? if yes - then you should save convars to listen.cfg or something like this, not remember...
Yep on that date indeed or a week before that depends on how I feel about CAP on that moment.
Why then?
Super;39260361']Why then?
You'll see...
You'll see...
Are you planning some super huge special surprise :D?
Hey, I'm still getting the bug where the view in ships is messed up. In the jumper it's between the doors, and in the Tel'tak it's underneath it. I Can also see myself standing. I'm unable to change views, and it's a pain in the ass. Any help? [editline]17th January 2013[/editline] One other thing, when the SGU gate is on DHD dial, the wormhole opens before the gate is done turning. Not sure if this is intentional, but it doesn't seem right.

ok, all that stuff is installed but now i dont see where i spawn all the gates and stuff
sounds like your running gmod on some old hardware
No, my hardware is of good quality. The view thing is a glitch, I don't know about the other.

Though I find it unlikely a machine built after 2005 would have any real problems running GMod if it was decent.
Not really, if him have cpu frequency lower that ~2.8 ghz then can be problems, and no matter how much cores in have...
Really? That's strange, i have dual core with 1.2 GHz and i have no problem. EDIT Sorry, it's 1.9, not 1.2 GHz.
Really? That's strange, i have dual core with 1.2 GHz and i have no problem.
Lol? There is no 1.2 dual core processors... Maybe you have look at wrong frequncy. Edit: there is, but still thats strange, idk then, i know only one - on my old notebook with dual core 1.6 pentium D garrys mod is lagging and whole cap almost not work like should.

You should theoretically be able to play GMod on a 1.6GHz Intel dualcore but not only the frequency is in play. For example AMD processors are not as efficient per MHz as Intel ones etc. And really, you can play BF3 with a good 2.5GHz dualcore (--> i5) as long as you have a powerful GPU. And lol Source engine is a threaded application not single thread, no matter how horrible the implementation might be...

HP ProBook 4535s, i can play most of the games fine, GMod works fine and i'm running FarCry 3 with ~25 FPS. It's the only engine that gets not responding on the loading screen. >.> Also that cancel button is pretty useless when it gets not responding, you press it and the game crashes :P

Lua load cpu, not gpu, and for example universe rotation function need very much cpu resources for correct work, if not enough - then it will have slow rotation and eh will open before gate finish rotation. I have this problem on notebook and can't fix it at all. Also garrys mod havn't correct multi-thread support, so it load ~1.5 cores only, because lua don't support multi-threads. Also it eat to much ram, so there is much reasons why it will have lags with slow cpu, evenn if will be fast gpu.

On my 2x1.8Ghz CPU it was to slow to rotate gates properly.
Isn't there another way to rotate shit? I'm on an I7-2630 @ 2.00 ghz and it rotates slow for me as well...
Am i the only one around here... who sees the universe gate rotating pretty fast? :D
Yeah, rolls normal for me to; AMD Athlon(tm) 5000 Dual-Core Processor. Dual Core clocked @ 2.4GHz.
