That's not the issue, atleast when I still had CAP it could crash if you fired a single one (vectors).

@ Alex and Art - I dont know why it crashes, it just does, and even then, it is only sometimes (usually when firing long distances. Maybe it is a problem at my end I dont know but I only have wiremod RD3 (and that lot) spadcebuild sgmod and a few other stargate ones, and cap installed. Hey, it doesnt really matter anyway, I dont ususally use the ori staff (i do sometimes) (I prefer the asuran gun, has a better sound too). I could check for errors but havent had much time for gmod lately.
One other thing. Whenever I use a stargate weapon to kill an NPC, an error comes up one the side of my screen. Just to notify you.
Orrila's crashing is probably due to too many pulse effects on screen.

It's a goa'uld device from season 1, First Commandment. In the show it creates a shield against the strong UV radiation, I was going to make it as an LS shield that basically when within the shield, you can survive.

Asuran gun and ori staff blast radius is really too much! There is no point on having it so big! If you want overpowered weapons then make another category with admin-only guns like this. Right now weapons can't be used in gamemodes for example because they aren't balanced and kill 10 men with one shot!

with this new shield emitter, the shield can be much bigger. it can be bigger because in the episode, the shield size was dependent on where the 2 shield generators were.

Personally I'm all for it. I already changed them to fire slower on my server. I also never felt like the staff weapon felt like a staff weapon. When I shoot someone with it, it slams into them like they were walls, then a huge explosive force sends them flying. I would love it if there was very little force "pushing" the ragdoll, and maybe a change in sounds/effects that makes it feel more like the energy of the shot is being absorbed by the person. If that...makes sense... It feels like all the energy in the blast is being released in front of the target in an explosive force, instead of hitting the target, being absorbed, causing burn wounds. not a bad idea but i dont think gmod could handle that (engine was never made this, so new one for gmod 13)

Furthermore the energy "kill" weapons shouldn't kill you by hitting your toes
Perhaps you should make a kind of "overheat" function similar to the air boat gun rather than give them expendable ammo. That way it's much more balanced and more true to the show. In the show you never see jaffa or wraith fire more than two bolts of energy quickly. They almost always take their time between shots.

Overheat sounds good. NPC toe-killing cant be helped, this is a problem with the NPC, not the weapons.

No. In order to create a concave collision in most of engines, you need to model it from simpler, convex parts. Let's take a look. Current shield model should have something around 100-200 polygons. Now, if you want to make a concave collision, you have to turn every single poly into simpler primitive, let's say a box. Box has 6 sides. So we've get here over 1k polygons per collisions which make calculations extremely ineffective. Also, having such collision force client side prediction to be more precisely (to avoid props that are moving to fast to be catched on shield, like weapons or ships). As you may not know, I had to write custom collision library using Plucker Coefficients, because clientside prediction for hardcoded collision is broken on gmod 10. While it would be quite effective on pure C (or other compiled language) it's kinda slowly on interpreted LUA. Thus, I had to limit poly count on shield, to prevent being "laggy as hell" is some noob is bombarding shield with weapons. On the other side, clientside prediction working flawlessly on gmod 13, thus it would be possible. But My new shield was actually stopping everything, so there was no need to make it hollow.
So, I would suggest to wait for gmod 13 and someone that will redo my shield.

Search the google. There are some Microsoft word fonts that you can use, and they are correct, I think this is the best way to learn. If you cant be bothered to search (I usually am not, it is boring and sometimes you get nowhere) then TOMMOROW, not today, I can put them all in a pact for you and uppload it to my mediafire. I can post it here if anyone else want it to.

A pack - because there are 2-3 fonts of ancient. They are the same symbols and letters, just have a slightly different style.
