-snip- because of negative responses. [editline]5th September 2012[/editline] -snipped video- obviously nobody even likes what i'm making so i took the video away.
The fuck is wrong with this thread O_O'
Every engine has brushes, why place them? Why not make your own?
He didn't make his own...
Hey, can anyone add Wire Input/Output for the Dakara Weapon? That would be cool, because the options for destroying are very limited.
Why is UDK ugly?
Kismet sucks, the editor is nowhere as good as CE3 SDK's, UnrealScript is stupid and the syntax is weird, physics in CE3 is 5 times better, please just look at UDK's attempt to simulate bendable vegetation... The AI is much better in CE3, the lightning is not as bad as everything else but CE3 still beats it with miles to spare. This does not mean that all games running on Unreal 3 suck. A game is so much more than the engine it runs on.

My voxel engine surely beats them all.
@dije, I asked you for it at "What are you working on?" thread but I believe it was missed under tons of new post, so let me ask it again here. It's your custom engine? Are you precomputing voxels at real time or do it at start? What method for noise are u using? How much Vertex (and index) buffer are you using? How big is batch count at usual operation?
OKAY, STOP FUCKING TALKING about fucking engines! This is Carters Addon Pack thread! btw Everyone knows that dije's voxel engine beats them all! :V (Let the flame war begin!)
OKAY, STOP FUCKING TALKING about fucking engines! This is Carters Addon Pack thread! btw Everyone knows that dije's voxel engine beats them all! :V (Let the flame war begin!)
Your right, the engine talk stops here, anyone who keeps posting about it is spamming
i'm not meaning to start an engine war. i'm merely asking for an opinion on how i'm doing by the best (modelers, scripters, etc.) i can possible think of.
Oh look someone discovered portals, how cool. Gosh UDK is so ugly...
No need to compare. Also, no need to rate that dumb. i'm working very hard on my projects. what have you been doing lately? i mean, other than making stupid, sarcastic comments. YOU try to make a bigger on the inside tardis in source engine. i made it and i'm proud of it. I also think it's funny that nobody said any bad shit about my Stargate... it works by using PRE-MADE materials, PRE-MADE static meshes, and PRE-MADE teleporters. yet, you only say it's shitty when it's a NOT EVEN COMPLETE tardis. [editline]6th September 2012[/editline]
Your right, the engine talk stops here, anyone who keeps posting about it is spamming
for the record, your post showed up after i posted mine. so i didn't see it.
Ogre is better than your CE:)
Meant for completely different things, if you want to make your own package obviously Ogre is better because that's how it's meant to be done with it and you have engine source access but if you want an already completed package with physics, renderer, AI etc CE3 is the best out there that you can get for free.
Well I'm looking forward to a MILLION FUCKING PARTICLES in UE4. What was that? You like having a couple hundred? Nah man. A MILLION FUCKING PARTICLES. Oh and the destruction is neat although CE3 has something remotely similar already. I'm looking forward to BeanMG which is being built in CE3, it features the same soft-body physics as Rigs of Rods and is made by the same devs :D But... Particles.
Million particles? CE3 has got unlimited particles already. It's "only" a matter of optimizing everything so that all the memory isn't taken up while using lots and lots of them. The destructible objects system in CE3 is very well done but not perfect, but the current lack of projects using it is only because they are not experienced/don't care enough to make the assets the way they need to be done. The only thing CE3 can't do with its current implementation is deform terrain in realtime which you could make yourself anyways. Yeh, the soft-body physics they've made are looking really, really good combined with the realistic damage models they've also done.
Also, no need to rate that dumb. i'm working very hard on my projects. what have you been doing lately? i mean, other than making stupid, sarcastic comments.
Working on this http://www.moddb.com/mods/stargate-empire-at-war It's not what you've done that makes people flame you, it's your attitude, it's not hard to make two boxes, place them on a map and link them with portals.
Fucking hell every time I come into this thread I see atleast someone arguing with pointless and off-topic bullshit like this, and then more people tag along and it turns into Carter Game-Engine Discussions Pack instead
http://www.moddb.com/mods/stargate-empire-at-war lol i have that mod
Not the one I'm working on. You have Stargate - Empire at War, which is not strange considering it is the largest Stargate mod ever. The current mod in development is Stargate - Empire at War: Pegasus Chronicles and it has not yet been released.
seriously SHUT THE FUCK UP.
I believe that this thread should be closed. No one is actually talking about stargate, rather than game engines, and jelling "ogmmgg issttt not workiiinn", "howww do i use svn heeeelp". But I will give it last chance before asking mod to do so. Destiny. When it was created? There are 2 different sources that keep saying 60mln years ago and 1mln year ago. Which one is the correct one?
I'll say 1 million years, I've always heard that's when the Ancients started colonizing the Milky Way and such. 60 million years sounds a bit absurd compared to the 10,000 years ago when they left for Pegasus and started building the gate network there.

They returned 10,000 years ago.
I follow up on Madmans generosity, this thread has really side tracked I'd also go with closing this thread and posting with the last message redirecting to our forums but we'll give the FP community one more chance to see if they're worth it!
They left for pegasus about 1 mil ago. They returned 10,000 years ago.
It seems to fit. Destiny project was abandoned due ascension. Maybe after sending some time in Pegasus (making gates, civilizations etc) they began to think about ascension?
It seems to fit. Destiny project was abandoned due ascension. Firstly, I have watched about the first 14 or so episodes of SGU, and so far, I love it. I wouldnt say I like it less than SG1 or SGA however, because as stated before, they are very different types of series. Although, where is the SGU DHD, so far I have only seen them use kino remotes. And before watching SGU, I thought kino was pronounced kine-o, but now know it is pronounced keen-o :D After thinking about this, Im gonna ask, why not include in this those ori gates someone made (with permission ofc). Your prob gonna say this isn't realistic, and never in stargate, but haey, neither was concept DHD. You could call it Concept ori gate. This is because after seing SGU, I though, well, the ancients built 3 types of gates seen so far - SGA SGU and SG1 Gate, why couldn't they create more. So, the ori would also be able to create gates as they are ancients that are just bad, so concept ori gate :D. Last time I had it (a while a go) it was a bit buggy and interferes with SOME CAP stuff, but hey, oh well. And you would also be able to assign that gate to the ori group. Just a nice addtion to the gate collection I thought. Also, why did the ancients go to pegasus from milky way. If they launched the Destiny from earth, this would show they where on earth before pegasus, and what was this about the alterans daniel mentioned in one of the SG1 Episodes???
