thank
Wow, i can't decide. I would like to have both.
like i said, i can make the Milky Way one somebody just needs to get in ready for source engine. if i make Pegasus one, somebody has to make and add materials and make it ready for source.

Seems like making it ready for source is the biggest problem. :/
I have blender, i could do it too, but every time i compile the model (however it's called) it has wrong
physics model. :/

Hmm what do you understand in making it ready for source?
Hmm what do you understand in making it ready for source?
Optimize for gaming, uvmap, texture, export, do collision, compile, add to list. Whole dirty job.
Hmm what do you understand in making it ready for source?
i don't know anything about making ready for source.

all i could do is make a basic model, can somebody give me 3dsmax dimensions for a GMOD player?
i have another problem. when i installed cap and played it in gmod it crashed when i opened the spawn menu. Anything i can do?
sorry for bad grammar

Test 2
How does it look?
Player box is 22x22x72 if I remember correctly. The best approach would be to take crystals from DHD (both usual and city console) because there would be no need to proper sizing them, uvmapping and texturing (they can use DHD and console texture).
Imho everyone can pick modeling app and do model that have no more than 20 faces and looks like 6 sides not smoothed cylinder with 2 levels and welded vertices.

Test 3
I made the box to represent a player's size.

dude, i don't care. i'm only helping. also, i don't know how to open CAP models. wouldn't it also be nice to have a new model for something? anything new has already pre-made models.
[editline]9th September 2012[/editline]
it isn't 20 sides. count the sides around the crystal. it's 6 around
@kibbols That's an awesome crystal, but i think it should be a bit shorter. I think it should be 0.65 times of current height.
@kibbols That's an awesome crystal, but i think it should be a bit shorter. I think it should be 0.65 times of current height.
gotta think about how much of the crystal is actually inside of the DHD base.
also, i tried adding some refraction and i get an error when rendering. i'm using Raytrace for refraction.
PHEN 0.3 error: A ray encountered an invalid color (NaN), using black instead.
[editline]9th September 2012[/editline]
weird. the error stopped.

Test 4
Made a little shorter
Adjusted Opacity
Added Refraction

i use blender to make models ready for source right? nevermind, blender is too confusing for me. anybody mind making my model ready for source?
anybody mind making my model ready for source?
Try it yourself, here's a tutorial, if you fail then i'll try.
http://www.moddb.com/games/half-life-2/tutorials/importing-static-props-into-half-life-2-3ds-max-9
I could try to do it. Export your model as .smd and i'll try to compile it if you fail.
i'v already hit a problem. i can't find studiomdl.exe oooh, nvm i'm getting source skd now.
i'v already hit a problem. i can't find studiomdl.exe
It can be found at steam/steamapps/<account>/sourcesdk/bin/[orangebox|ep1]/bin/studiomdl.exe.
-snip- problem fixed.
-snip- off topic
almost done with the control crystal.

i found the SGU eh i mentioned. the not-a-recording eh. i think cartman made it. it's in the stargate accessories addon that has cartman's 50. cal
Any reason why the Kawoosh does not show up in CAP in Garry's Mod 13?
It's there but the particles are missing. Also the closing and forming texture animations for the Event Horizon doesn't show, the puddle just appears, and dissapears when it closes.

probably for the same reason why weapons dont work in gmod 13 as cap in gmod 13 is broken
probably for the same reason why weapons dont work in gmod 13 as cap in gmod 13 is broken
Not everything in cap is broken. Stargates work in GMod13 but be sure to use cap and cap_resources
folders, not cap-13 or however it's named.
I was so excited to see John Sheppard in the 1st episode of season 4 of Fringe. And then i got

Watch "Once upon a time". It's got Rush in it :D
almost got it, now to get translucency and, hopefully, sharper edges.
i'v tried "$alphatest" 1 and "$translucent" 1 but neither are working to get this thing translucent.
[editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
does the material have to be a specific size for this? it's only one color

Hey, what is the material RGBA? I think you forgot alpha.
sorry still new to anything material. don't rate this dumb i know rgb is red green blue, is A alpha?

The alpha channel controls translucency. "$translucent" 1 just activates it.
Also, remove smoothing, it's a goddamn crystal not a dildo.

i looked for it, idk how
please pardon my errors, i'm new to modeling for games and am just trying to learn

how do i do the alpha? gimp? vtfedit?
or is it another material/map?
