Put "BleedingOut" into your addons folder. [editline]11:51PM[/editline] :D
HEV suit :Internal bleeding detected , user death imminent
Boop, boop, boop, hiss, torniquette applied, bleeding has stopped. :v: I'm going to merge this addon with the hevsuit gordon freeman module, that would be really cool. (i'm pretty late...)
How clever! How original! How hilarious!
So does it bleed out the player like a period? You know the things girls get when they work to hard in the kitchen? Eh Wizey?
I still feel as though you where dropped from birth, That and the lack of manners.
So does it bleed out the player like a period? You know the things girls get when they work to hard in the kitchen? Eh Wizey?
. Theres a period for you.
I still feel as though you where dropped from birth, That and the lack of manners.
Did you see my suggestion with the sounds/other stuff above? Just wondering, it would really jack this up even more than it already is on the awesome meter :)
I still feel as though you where dropped from birth, That and the lack of manners.
Couple things: Script still works when god mode is on Motion blur is a little too heavy, you can't see jack shit, you can't even run to cover to bandage yourself. auto-heal doesn't seem to be working...my crouch key is binded to shift, by the way. I'm not saying it's too hard, but you should probably up the bandage/healing time, if you start to bandage yourself under 20 health you're dead. No matter what. Otherwise, very good script.
You can make out shapes a little but you shouldn't expect to kill anything of course, you're on your last legs after all. Solution to the cover problem: Don't leave cover if it's that dangerous. I can bandage myself at around 15 health and have 2-3 health left, the speed is just fine. Remember to crouch to speed it up, and don't move. Auto heal is turned off, you have to heal yourself. In MP when you die and were bandaging/in the natural recovery state, it still shows it on your screen. The post processing and bleeding don't occur though. If you do end up bleeding, and the natural recovery/bandaging that carried over finishes, it'll stop your bleeding.

Any other changes? EDIT: The ability to toggle this on and off with a console command, maybe bleedout [1/0], would be very nice. Oh and when it turns off, bleeding players stop bleeding and bandaging.
This mod is ok, but the bleeding is so damn annoying. One single bullet can typically cause you to bleed, then you have to run for cover, crouch, wait for 5 hours to finally recover, run out of cover and instantly get shot again, then repeat. Not only that, but you have to do all of this while dealing with a fucking blur effect that makes it entirely impossible to see or move. I have to noclip to safety even when I'm standing right next to a building thanks to the blur effect. Suggestions: 1. Make a way to toggle this on/off. 2. Make in-game medkits heal bleeding. 3. Remove the blur effect or at least tone it down immensely. 4. Decrease the time it takes to recover.
make it so that only if you take 40 damage then you will start bleeding. also, how do you bind the +bandage key?

The blur effect has been toned down enough to be honest, any less and it really wouldn't be much at all. And did you really just say that a mod based on enabling bleeding out is okay, and then you called the bleeding itself annoying? You obviously don't like the bleeding, why do you continue to use it?
make it so that only if you take 40 damage then you will start bleeding. also, how do you bind the +bandage key?
bind b bandage in console

And did you really just say that a mod based on enabling bleeding out is okay, and then you called the bleeding itself annoying? You obviously don't like the bleeding, why do you continue to use it? bind b bandage in console
When you set their proficiency to Good and use an AI mod + difficulty mod AND set their health to 220+ like I do, it's annoying that in one bullet you have to run back for half an hour to heal while the enemies can take hundreds of bullets and never bleed, and typically with improved NPCs it only takes one shot to wound. At least make it to where you can disable bleeding every now and then.
I use the difficulty mod (you don't need both proficiency and difficulty, they do the same thing), reduced player speeds, a stamina mod (which I think should be integrated with this addon) and a realistic weapon pack. Why would you make the NPCs have more health, and then complain? That's dumb as hell. And from what I know, AI mods don't even work anymore. Plus, I use maps that have realistic environments. Maybe if you weren't lining up 20 combine elites on construct and sprinting around like a silly man, actually had a team to fight with, actually used tactics, and so on and so forth, maybe your plan would work better. But if you're going to complain about things you manually added then what's the point of complaining at all? The only fixing to be done is only able to be done through you. I mean from what it sounds like you're trying to make yourself weaker and then complaining when you aren't a one man army anymore.
There is a new NPC AI mod (NPC's AI Mod 1.3) released a few months ago. It vastly improves the AI, and now Combine can use grenades, Elites use the alt AR2 fire, and Metrocops can deploy manhacks on the spot. I CAN still win and I'm not complaining that I'm not a one-man army, it's just bleeding is too extreme. The slightest hit causes you to bleed, and considering most battles are large scale like this, it isn't very fair that I have to spend 3/4 of the battle sitting and recovering from bleeding.
Mind linking me to that? Key thing to do: don't get hit. You should have a team with you to fight a bunch of Combine, otherwise you should be using cover much better if you expect to come out of any fight unscathed. The bandaging is pretty slow, maybe it should be sped up a little, but the natural recovery I think is fine, but it should bleed slower and not have the red tint, just the motion blur. The only other suggestions I have to this pack are the ability to bandage other people (2x faster than bandaging self, whatever that ends up being), and if you gain any health while bleeding, you go into the natural recovery state, and if you already are in that state, you gain 50%. This would be a nice system to make medkits help when bleeding. Other than that, adding a stamina mod into this would be really cool. Also there's a bug I found, if you're bandaging or recovering, and you die, it doesn't stop and carries over to the next life - you aren't bleeding though, but if it finishes and you're bleeding, you'll stop bleeding... it's a little gamebreaking at times, and on top of that plain annoying.
Npc AI: http://npcaimod.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/NPC_AI/ It improves ai to move on unnoded maps btw and makes striders walk around. Also great mod and only bullets make you bleed correct? not zombies and such?
Also great mod and only bullets make you bleed correct? not zombies and such?
Zombie claws are pretty sharp, I'm sure they could puncture an artery, and why shouldn't it? also, I'm quite unsure of its reaction to poison headcrabs, will test that.
Thank you very much.
Rather than just the undownloadable code, here's also the Gmod.org link. http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=78800
Except the thing he gave me was an addon in SVN, and that is only 1.2.
Except the thing he gave me was an addon in SVN, and that is only 1.2.
Must be two different AI mods. Sorry to go off-topic, but if you've installed his SVN one, how does the 1.2 version of that one guy's NPC AI (the one I gave the link to) compare to the mod by the SVN?
Well, here's a screenshot of the menu it has since a picture holds a thousand words, a thousand words well kept out of the topic so we can get back on topic ASAP :P (I've changed the two bottom bars to be the highest setting but nothing else yet)
great mod, really good job. maybe for next release you could include these things: - Bleeding stops if a Rebel Medic gives you a health kit - The human sound effect that plays when you need to get to cover on COD 4 - Blur increases and gets harder to see as health goes down, right now I have something like 35 hp and really blurry :( - A sound when you use the bandage. Maybe the health kit sound in Call of Duty? Thats all I think that needs improving. Other than that really good work!
In my sound pack, there's both breathing and bandage sounds.
2 QUESTIONS!
In my sound pack, there's both breathing and bandage sounds.
1) wheres this?
