I am so putting this on my server when gmod 13 comes out.
I want to beef up crafting, suggest some recipes.
wood plank + nails = spiked nail plank maybe add things like weapon parts, recievers, handgrips, stocks, and if they have a set of them make them able to combine them.

Obviously using elements from Project Zomboid would be a good start, so I won't bother suggesting ones from there. Also Dead Rising 2 would be a good place to get ideas from.

I'm going to be spending the next few days lurking the key site to try and get a key, lol. As for suggestions of crafting: Wood scrap + Wood scrap = Wooden Plank (Can be used to board up windows and doors, etc. Possibly could also be used as a melee weapon?) (Examples of wood scraps would be models such as: models/props_c17/FurnitureDrawer001a_Chunk01.mdl to Chunk06.) I can't think of anything else for crafting right now but if I think of anything I'll post my ideas. Crowbar should be a "multi-purpose" tool and highly valued, used to break open doors, crates, and [B]secondarily[/B] as a melee weapon.

You can craft with them, but you can also swing them too :v:
Is there an on the fly item creation system?
No. I could do it but I wouldn't be able to have them save properly.

Walk around in the Plaza on a HL2RP server with a crowbar and you'll get amputated. "But officer, I was just going to open a crate!"

The second GMod 13 comes out and someone puts up a server running Vein, I'm going to play the shit out of it. I'm really excited for this.

So there's a survival manual item, could be a diary, military survival, etc, whatever you feel like. The best text (any length) to be PMed to me gets put into it.

why not have it so when it's loading the normal items read a set of text files full of item data, then create them into items on the script startup? oops, this was a response to the "on the fly item creation" that person mentioned.
Text files are bad news to have as default - if you look in the gm13 subforum, garry's disallowed text files from addons/gamemodes
