Oh i didn't get it. That sound's nice. I can renderer for u UV temple for each model or if u have 3ds max 9 then i can send u my models?
o yea u no the Asgard beam weapon is it meant to shot right whew a prop
cos wen i shot a prop it hits it than for like 1sec u can see it at the other side :PS sos i cant spell
Opto, if u can then send me them please. I'm rally curious how it sound.
iamcll, yeah it's a little glitch. Asgard beam is made for shooting ships, not small things. Probably I can do something with that, I promises nothing.
montross, it mean that u can only spawn a chair, hit asgard emitter with that and sit on the chair to shoot. For now, I will add wire support.
kk im sorry if im asking for to much
Do we really need XYZ inputs, or just a vector input is enough?
vector is enough we dont need XYZ

Sorry, but even google translator spells better than you. :saddowns:
I suspect your really busy right now madman but can i make a request for either you, or someone else that knows what they are doing?
To do a guide on the different ways of setting up each weapon (normal, wire, whatever other complex ways were mentioned earlier, ect.)
The youtube video you did for the railgun a while ago was the right principle but had 2 major problems:

You did it way to fast to easily keep track of

It was too low quality to be able to clearly see exactly what you were doing/had selected (though I appreciate that this may be youtube's fault)
I know how to use wire in a limited sort of way (about 6th or 7th orb tutorial kind of level for all those who learned wire with them. ;p
I am a guide like this would help not only myself but many others and prevent the thread becoming clogged with to many noob questions :O
Thanks
Yeah, I don't have much time and my connection is to weak to upload bigger movies.
With wire support it's really cool. I ran test with weapon power. With over-clocked shield (strength and restore multiplier 5 times bigger) u need 6 shoots to deplete shield ;]

for the turrets its not rly need, but for the staff stationary would be nice to have a clean uv. i got 3dsmax 10 so 09 versions works fine :)
ps: improvements to the turrets:
i noted that when you try to shoot trough a stargate this doesn't work whit both turrets, maybe add this future.
also the asgard model inside is not proper smoothed, try to fix this plz
the stationary railgun i already made a version a couple weeks ago, only problem the shield is darker, but i'm going to fix soon.
did you add me in steam already ? if not add me: verbeke577
pps: its Boba Fett, montross is my old name.
I'll send you the firing sounds and I'll also add a short video so you can see the weapons and model them.
About wire input/ourputs, I think we need XYZ, since there's some Wire newbies, I suggest you to keep the guns easy to wire.
@Montross: about the icons, they're just purely awesome, I wish they'll be on the next update, keep up the good work buddy! =)
i am guessing that it is not too difficult to set up, so maybe someone else could make the video. Also, madman your youtube video was ok quality if you do stuff slowly enough, so if you could do as i suggested at a pace that its easy to follow then that would still be very useful!

@ Rage its Boba Fett :'( look atz my img :'( oke no matter mmh no they won't be votekick posted in a WIP that i post on Fpsbanana and he's not rly happy to see this: http://www.fpsbanana.com/wips/36243
Mah if he grant permission, i will upload i guess when I'm done.
if a video guide is to difficult can someone string together a few lines of text instructions on how to wire the inputs and outputs of the weapons?
Madman, if you don't mind some ideas for the asgard beam:
- make it like the Railgun: no additional chair needed, but press E on it to control (or an Adv Pod Controller)
- E2 control
- Hitting anything, even ground
- A better artificial tracking system. Get the point of the entity the user looking at when firing, and track that point of the entity (a local position of the entity).
I think that's all, and great that someone finally taken himself to do something such a cool thing :D
I can't. There is no forward dir of entity, u need to specify target, anyway, it's better to sit on chair and fire to somethin. Wire version is ready, but i nee to change something in railguns. No, there is no hitting anything, just because there could be some problems... Sory. Yeah I though about targeting some point on the entity - I will do that soon.
Why is there any problem with hitting anything? You can make it so when it hits any physic object, the trail ends, and if the target is an entity (or emitted by an entity like the shield) then damage is applied.
[editline]08:41PM[/editline]
And also, why is it problem that it got no forward direction? Take the angle of the player's view when he enters the entity, and use that!
Cuz what will happens if somebody want to hit an sky in spacebuild mode? it will look crappy. Nah, it's god how it is.
Man, asgard beam isn't a stationary weapon. It's used with computers on ship, they took target automatically i think.

well they choose the target and fire manualy
Hmmm, lets say semi-manually-automatically. Yeah, they specify target, and place, but not so accurate (for example, hangar bay, hyperdrive, etc). And if they would do everything manually, it would suck. Computers make many thing with targeting i think.
madman007 i have destinys main weapon sound along with single shot and double shot sound of the turrets very clean sounds.. i do alot of sound editing.. so if you need any sound i have all seasons of sga sg1 i have capabilities to record from tv dvd straight off the web and edit.. so let me know...
madman07 i spawn a pod and get in after hitting the asgard with it i put an entity and it keeps shooting me it only works with the pod no chair..
is there anything i need to do?
theres no input showning up when look at it with the advanced wire tool but your other stuff does..
oh if you make the destiny double barrel weapons do it like in the show where the fire one then the other one same with the main gun 1 2 3 etc. i bleive theres 4 on it.. one on the bottom i have dual sounds for the turrets timed in the show
This may be a silly question but.... how do you even generate a vector output? The beacon sensor has vector outputs for X Y and Z but not one that just connects to the vector option.
Personally I prefer GPS coords anyways for ease and flexibility.
On another note, after playing with the guns a bit today, I found the ship turret to be quite finicky with the way it would work, I could give it a target, turn it on, and so on, and it worked fine for the first NPC I had it shoot but after that it refused to get "in range" regardless of where I moved the turret and the gun did not appear to track any targets.
Other than that though, very neat addition and one that has been well needed.
locutus_1, i'm not exactly sure if it work with pod. Try with airboat chair. There is no uploaded wire version jet.
For now all works on stargate weapons are suspended - I'm making Daedalus (and need to rewrite some port of railguns).
cbale2000, what u mean? Just take some entity and read it's position with ent:GetPos(). You can connect GPS easily to my guns using vector input\output. I didn't tried it with NPC, probably some bug, will be fixed soon.
Thanks :)
i will try an airboat chair see what that does, the pod works it just targets me and i dont die it just shoots me.. the other weapons are great they work good.
what program did you use to create the lua?
probably targets you becouse your aiming at the pod when in it (your inside the prop), does this whit sbep vehicles to unless one wires an advpod controler becouse it makes you ignore the vehicle prop when aiming.

i tried the advanced pod controller i link it to the pod then try to wire it up to the beam weapon but no inputs at all show up... is there another way to get the beam to work without sitting in the pod? or using something else?

I don't know...can beacon sensors output vectors? I only use e2 for stuff like this...
i was able to get it to work.. i used an office chair which gave back my crosshairs.. and it targets npcs entities and any npc.. it depleats the stargate sheild on full streanth like with 5 zpms in 3 shots.. :-)
now it could be cool madman07 if you could put back in the world target or an option to toggle world or entities and npcs.. that way we can shoot doors or what ever we want.... icant wait to see the destiny weapons maybe a ship made for it.. for space battle... i think flyboi was making the gate room he said hes stoped though he does want to finish
