Is there any chance some one can make a video showing basics like a tutorial or something along those lines?... I"m a noob to this whole idea of tiberium and an example will really accelerate my understanding of it. I mean i never have played the command and conquer games but i hear they are fun.
Holy...wow, just wow. I love this! The tiberium rocks so much, especially with the towers. It's a whole lot less resource consuming now, with the first version of tiberium i'd get a field of like, 500 tiberium and I'd crash now I can have thousands! I have some suggestions though (having been an avid player of the C&C line of games especially Tiberium related): 1- The Tiberium towers are awesome but they don't really match the game-based towers as much as they should. They should be thicker, wider, ect, and if possible, completely random. At the moment, when they come out, they all come out the exact same way, they look the same, face the same direction, and go to the same height. If possible you should make it so when you spawn a tib tower it comes up in a completely random size, shape, angle, and height, to make it more natural. ...Actually that was the only suggestion I had, heh... I have another but I'm sure its currently impossible... but I'll post it anyway in case it's not. If you've played C&C Tiberium based games you should have noticed that wherever Tiberium grows, it cracks the ground around it, leaves fissures in the ground, ect. ect. It also makes the area a barren wasteland, because it pulls minerals and nutrients out of the ground to put in the crystal. I doubt its possible with the current engine/game but maybe. *edit* Oh! There WAS one more suggestion. At the moment I find it kind of difficult to seed Tiberium, even when you spawn multiple towers it takes a good while for a large field to grow, I was thinking maybe you could add some sort of cataclyst way of spreading it that uses a console command or a menu button (admin only, of course). What would happen would be, just like in the game, a giant asteroid/meteorite would impact with a random place on the map (or if you want control make it like the towers and impact where you click) and spread a huge field of the selected tiberium type and at the same time form 3-4 towers in random positions near the impact. Eh? It'd make Tiberium a hell of a lot more fun in places like Spacebuild where admins could spread it on planets and cause a huge commotion. *edit 2* Here, I found a picture of the Tib towers in C&C3.
Look 1 page back some of your ideas are already sugested by gtaiiilcs And its impossible to make holes in the ground
The only thing he suggested that was like mine was the comet, but I said Meteor/meteorite, which are different things. A comet is a large spacebound ball of ice and rock that orbits the sun on a large orbital path, they very rarely impact on planets. Technically, Tiberium wasn't even a meteorite, it only impacted with Earth because the Scrin seeded it, so maybe to seed large fields it should be a giant laser beam or something that comes down, grows 3-4 towers, and creates a huge patch of tiberium. Also, one more thing I thought of. On the Tiberium Tower placer, It'd be good if you added another option "Tiberium Growth Rate from this tower" and you could have it from 1 (really slow) to 10 (really fast) *edit* Ok I just realized something, for all you people constantly requesting the tiberium trees or the moss, those don't exist in the tiberium world anymore! At the moment Linux is using, apparently, the evolved form of tiberium which is now a dense particle chain lattice crystal, since it evolved, Tiberium is no longer an organic-plant like material, it is a crystal, that means that the moss no longer exists and the trees turn into tiberium. If you've played the game you will read that anything that Tiberium touches gets bombarded with atoms and turned into more tiberium.
How do you install this?
How do you install this?
Extract the folder into your garrysmod/garrysmod/addons folder. That's what i did and its working but I'm having an issue with making munitions?... how do i do that?... i have the munitions genorator hooked up with the supplies it needs but how do i make a warhead?... i need a bloody tutorial... lol

If the supplies are there, the projectile should be generated in a few seconds.
Okay... thanks for the info about the wire thing... now i can produce warheads and the likes with is pretty cool. now my only issue is the munitions factory and trying to figure out how to work this stuff... lol. I can get a breeched loaded cannon out alright and the smaller stuff goes in there one at a time but how and where does the other stuff go? I'm sorry if i keep bugging you with this but i really am a noob when it comes to doing stuff like this.
Can you explain how tiberium radar works? There doesn't seem to be any documentation at all on it in this thead. Also, would it be possible to have it interact with the Beacon Sensor, acting like a Target Finder? Where you could use the Beacon Sensor to output the distance, bearing, elevation, etc of the Tiberium? Then the radar could be simplified to just output if tiberium is detected, and what color it is. Also, the Radar spams the console with errors saying something about attempting to do math on a boolean value.
EntropyGuard => Give me the radar error, it work for me The radar need 40 life support energy per second for work The radar work like the beacon sensor, output the distance, color, world position, relative position (and the number of tiberium in v3) I'm sorry for my bad english but I'm french, I can't write a tutorial in english, my english is too bad
Would it be possible to give the radar a front and have it output bearing? Making an automatic harvester that tracks tiberium is a bit difficult without a face and bearing. You can do it easily if you want your harvester to float above the tiberium like a UFO, but if you want to put the nozzle on the front of a harvester and use it that way, it becomes incredibly difficult. I just thought it would be really useful to use the Radar like the Target Finder. Just set the range in it, then wire it to a separate Beacon Sensor. The Beacon Sensor would output a few more useful things that the radar doesn't currently do like elevation and bearing, as well as the standard Distance and relative XYZ. Edit: and the error is entities/lynix_tiberium_radar/init.lua:373: attempt to perform arithmetic on a boolean value Edit2: The error only seems to appear after a Radar is duplicated.
I left my vehicle on the green tiberium field, and forgot about it. Later, i accidently found it, and it had some greenish colour. So what's going to be next, after it was green?
the tiberiums infect a lot of entities. after that, the tiberium can grow on the entity. One entity infected is dead. I will make a Tiberium Shield, can protect the entity but can't disinfect. The v2.1b have a bug for the tiberium on the entity. And sorry for my bad english, I'm french EDIT : EntropyGuard => it's fixed in the v3
Awesome.... umm merci. :p
Um okay... Anyway this is so cool, are there any tutorials for the harvesting?
2Storm_Ninja If i would not be so lazy, i'd write one.
DrMiles => Okay but the v3 change the radar
Lynix you never said anything about the red tiberium :( do you think you could do it like I posted?
The v3 have the red tiberium with your idea :D
when i spawn the tiberium tower, it crashes my game.
spawn the tiberium tower? do you use the stool? (stupid question I know)
yes to both
I worked out how to use the resources thing. Now all i need is to find out a use for it. :science:
How do you mine it? I've tried everything I can think of and I can't get it to work... maybe I'm just retarded at this or something. :\
How do you mine it? I've tried everything I can think of and I can't get it to work... maybe I'm just retarded at this or something. :\
There is no mining in it use a other addon called tiberium harvesting (made by paradukes)
There is no mining in it use a other addon called tiberium harvesting (made by paradukes)
Yea, I downloaded this: http://garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=12748 and I have the resource distributor, but how do you use those things (like the nozzle and stuff) to harvest the tiberium?
Link it to a tiberium tank and give it energy and press E on it to turn it on. It isn't rocket science.
Link it to a tiberium tank and give it energy and press E on it to turn it on. It isn't rocket science.
You link it using the resource distributor?
Energy generators --> energy storage --> harvesting nozzle <-- tiberium tank EDIT: you need life support, and you link them together using the link tool
-Visceroids That would be so cool but hard. (unless you throw a model on the headcrab and call it a Visceroids.) but don't do that we like our crabs. Red tiberium? Anyways I love it it gives any map a C & C feel to it.
