Is there a catalogue of all finished gamemodes that are functional and regularly updated somewhere? - Garry's Mod

I love how we went from a catalog of gamemodes to how much RP sucks. Back onto topic please.

Someone asked for the status of the project, and here's what I've done so far: [t]http://i.imgur.com/7qglc.png[/t] The gamemode page so far. In the future it will have servers, comments, ratings, etc., but for now it just has info and media. You submit what media you want when you submit the gamemode, and (in the future), people can submit media to a gamemode from this page. Media will probably have to be screened by an admin to prevent spam. [t]http://i.imgur.com/cJADO.png[/t] When you click on an image or video, it opens in a lightbox. Links just work like regular links. [t]http://i.imgur.com/d10Aw.png[/t] Gamemode listing. As you can see on the right, the gamemode is listed as "Pending". When a gamemode is just submitted, it will have to go through some sort of verification process to verify that it's an actual gamemode and isn't just spam, or hasn't been submitted yet. You can add as much media as you want, and it can be a facepunch thread, video (vimeo or youtube), image, website, or garrysmod.org download. You can also specify what the gamemode is based on. So there's a lot done, and a lot of work still to do.

Will this possibly include install instructions and/or bug fixes? By the way, keep up the good work!

Would be cool if you offered steam sign in, then you can link servers to your steam account, sort of like gametracker :P

This looks like it would be really useful. It's hard for me to manually find game servers for certain gamemodes. (Hope this isn't a bump...)

This would be an AMAZING idea. Definitely needs to be done so new server hosters could find abstract things to get people into.

So it pretty much works the same as Gametracker and similar sites; except no image and no bullshit about claiming the server. imho add a connect button to each server if you're going to list servers too. i.e. steam://connect/127.0.0.1:27018

We used to have something like this on the old wiki seen as you could never get one on FP without people complaining about random things. Then ofc it got cleaned out... The only problem I see now is that most of the good gamemodes that where unique have been lost mainly because they where private to start with. With the exception of, Roleplay in its many forms Stranded Spacebuild 2 & 3 GoFish (Many versions) Deathmatch (Many versions) Back in 2009 there where many things like Pirateship wars the Minigame maps all now lost in favour of roleplay because people can make a quick buck out of people wanting to "donate" for gifts. In the past the only way I found out about the new and interesting things was because they where featured on garrysmod.com when it was community news. Now its a free for all on what just so happens to popup on your server list. I love what you've done and I think it has a place in the future but at the minute I think there needs to be something the community can orientate itself around like what garrysmod.com was.

Anything that can be helped with as well let us know. May I suggest that instead of having registration, since this is a purely Garry's Mod based project, have Steam sign ins? That way you can link gamemodes to the developer's Steam account, and so server up/downvotes can be legitimate, as in one per Steam account that owns gmod. Just so some kid that gets banned can't create tons of accounts just to downvote. Because I bet we all know someone that would do that.

A SteamID login would be perfect for this site. Other than that, I think this alone may be encouragement for me to get back to working on Meta-Strike, as well as promoting other great gamemodes that never make it big. I say do it!

[url]http://gamemodes.cash4ads.biz[/url] How it works: When a gamemode is submitted, it goes into pending. After 10 votes, if a gamemode is rated -5 or less, it's denied. Otherwise, it's approved. Then you can submit media and servers. Most of it works on reporting at this point. It'd be great to have a wiki-like system for editing gamemodes, but that's not here yet so we're stuck with this. So have fun, tell me any bugs, I'll make a thread or something soon maybe.
