Yes it would but i doubt anyone will have more then 500 ring transporters on their map. and frankly i hate the ring dialer you have now, it just delays you transporting when you are in a fight or something

It'd take longer to hit 6 buttons in the correct order with the very limited ability to do such things in gmod. I'm not going to stop you, go ahead and make it, we'll see how it comes out.
The ring activator SWEP is released on SVN by the way.

You can use it instead of using the control panel, like in the show. Which i think would be its use, never tried it. =\
Did you ever notice, that in the show they always hit the same buttons to use the rings? Also a max distance should be on here, so can go from planet to planet in spacebuild.Just above the planets would be good.

I have done a similar SWEP and added it to the stargate SVN. Also, the hand device in stargate SVN can dial rings too (Mode3)

Should be fixed - I have recoded the SWEP a lot. ALso, it always calls the nearest ring, but I will recode it to call the ring where you are looking at.

The way i see it, if you just chuck the entity in there it should work, though I'm not too sure the control panel with work, but the hand device would work well.
A version which we could use for map making would be good if you ask me, I've had a look into map making for movie production purposes and i like the idea of being able to do more strait off without needing to do so much in Garry's mod.
Also where can i get this hand device that has been mentioned in the last few posts???
I'll add some keyvalues so you can put them in hammer when I'm ready to work on them again. Currently you should be able to spawn the entity without issues but you can't set its name etc.

"LS" is Life support am i correct? If it is your problem may lie with Life Support.

I do not know if anyone else has reported a problem but for some reason this just will not work for me, i really want it to. I have reinstalled gmod and everything.

Yep. You have to touch the panel to a ring base.
I just use the hand held device - So much faster. :D
