That bug has been reported like 3 times on just this page.
You know I entirely forgot about this :x I'll have poke at it when I wake up properly.
Maybe you could get killer rabbit's ring models http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showthread.php?t=384008 or Zup's http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/9...e030008pi1.jpg http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/7...e030009qj8.jpg (It is 2496 poly per ring and only 1.3mb's of texture).

Cool, i had an idea could you make it like the stargate (in the sense that you need to dial an address), so rather than teleporting to closest one or to one set one, it can dial any but they have to be within a certain distance. Oh and have like a 5 second time delay if you have to dial cause well if it was almost instant you would miss it lol.
Catdaemon thank you very much!
I'm trying to make this work as both a pad-to-pad transport and a pad-to-position one, however it's proving incredibly difficult to do both. This may take quite some time. EDIT: Actually I've just thought of another way of doing it, do not fear.
Cool, can't wait for you to release it keep us updated.
Awesome, can't wait. I haven't done the teleportation or models yet, was just seeing if I could get this working (I did): As you can see, they'll drop to any distance and align with the ground.
That looks awesome! So we can have roof transporters now like in the Show?
So will that one version of it be able to do ground and ceiling? like it adapts to the position it is put in? Also will we get the ring sounds in this one :V
That looks awesome. So you mean that you can put one inside your ship facing up, and one outside your ship facing down, and then you can ring below your ship just like in a Tel'tak?
That looks awesome. So you mean that you can put one inside your ship facing up, and one outside your ship facing down, and then you can ring below your ship just like in a Tel'tak?
So it would indeed seem.
i am ridiculously excited for this
Ya it sounds great can't wait for it to be released.

Do you have a rough estimate when it will be released?
Catdaemon i hope you didn't toke me bad for remenbering you of this thread. :P The new ring concept you're working on... is just the best!
I can't give you any estimates or progress reports unless progress is made, and I'm busy with life at the moment.
I can't give you any estimates or progress reports unless progress is made, and I'm busy with life at the moment.
not the dreaded REAL WORLD!
Hey Catdaemon, ask Zup for his stargate ringtransporter models. As far as I remember, he did some.

Cat, one thing you may or may not know, but I'll say it anyway. In the show, ring sites that are very far apart (Like from a Ha'tak to the surface of a planet) are linked by an energy beam and the object being transported is beamed along as a burst of energy. Therefore, the farther apart they are, the longer it takes to transport, so it's not instantaneous. Perhaps you could add that to this in some way based on the distance they are apart? And maybe add controls for setting the delay level.
Cat, could you make it so that if you have ls it uses energy and the further the distance is between the transporters the more energy it uses.

I guess you could actually move an object back and forth between the ring transporters and lock the player's view to that object like with the prop ghosting addon thing.

Perhaps make it use the Adv. Duplicator to save the object, get rid of the original, do the transport thing, then recreate it at the other end? And for players, make them invisible and noclipped and frozen in place while whiting out their screen, then placing them at the destination.
