I have a suggestion about the ring distance. It should not include both ring transporters. Its pretty hard to ring out of my ship and not end up 200(feet?) up in the air. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SENT's EVER!
Cat, I have got my internet fixed. So would you like the sounds? if so I will upload so you can check them out
I'll consider the delay thing but it's not getting done right now because it's more difficult than you'd think to get right. Updated first post: Download: Ring transporter, based off the ones seen in Stargate. Features: - Dialling - Can penetrate props - Can teleport pretty much anything - Rings are entirely lua controlled - Can extend rings far (as in series on transport ships etc) - Will not teleport props welded to it - Looks cool as hell - Two-way Usage: - Spawn two or more ring transporter base entities from your SENT menu - If you want, press USE on the bases to name them - Spawn a control panel and touch it to a base - Press E on the control panel - this will bring up a menu for dialling. - Transporter will then link with the defined transporter and begin the sequence Installation: - Extract to your garrysmod/addons folder. Credit: - Thanks to Zup for the models - these are very well made.
The one thing I do not like about this is the rings. I put the teleporter on my ship, turned it on and the rings made it thrash about. Pretty much, it is a "I wish these GOD DAMNED RINGS were no collided!" I made a weapon out of this thing for my Colony gametype. I call it the Dark-Matter bomb. You place the main bomb part inside of an enemy ship then place the second teleporter above (if that is the teleport to...) or below (if it is teleport from...), stand back from the bomb (perferably about 3 times the length away from the ship), activate and enjoy. The teleporter attempts to put every prop in the teleporter into one spot, making it implode on it's self (with breakable props on, that's a very bad thing), catches fire and explodes. I'll try to take some pictures when I get back home.

A transporter on a ship shouldn't have issues with the maximum range as long as there's no wall directly on top of it or something. Cat, here are some sounds I have, perhaps they may be good, especially the button sound :D
Cat the last quote he was talking about his swep in some gamemode he's making lol
Just thinking of a little extra to what already is a good transporter system. How about a swep that activates the closest ring platform to transport to the closest ring platform. you know those fancy things the jaffa had on there arms. Anyway it would be pretty nice and would allow you to call down rings that you may have placed on the underside of your ship and transport to the one that you placed inside. But i have no idea if a swep to even do that so just an idea

I'm not doing the swep though, so place a request for someone else to.
Are the sounds any good Cat?
No i mean i have one in my ship and one under my ship. when i enter 300 the rings supposed to get me goes 300 up above my ship. Maby you can do so the rings cannot go through welded props and have to stop there to teleport. And i hope there be wire inputs to transport and to set height. But as in the series you cannot lock the rings and that wuld be a good idea here to.
No i mean i have one in my ship and one under my ship. when i enter 300 the rings supposed to get me goes 300 up above my ship.
Oh. The base is the wrong way round.
Oh. The base is the wrong way round.
Om sorry i am from Sweden. what do you mean by this? I have the one inside turned "up" and the one on the underside faced "down".
Om sorry i am from Sweden. what do you mean by this? I have the one inside turned "up" and the one on the underside faced "down".
Obviously it didn't face down or it would have gone in that direction.
Obviously it didn't face down or it would have gone in that direction.
The rings headed down. it's the rings in the ship headed up that is flying away.
I think he means that the ones on the inside of the ship go too far up and they go through the top of the ship. That shouldn't happen unless there is a large map surface not very high above the ship right?

Dude that is awesome! I am SO downloading! But i am a bit curious as to weather you plan on making it so that it can teleport multiple things such as a large fort etc that would be pretty cool. Oh and try Shift + E it aligns the object to grid. I dunno if you knew that i noticed you were having difficulty's turning it in the movie.

Sweet. Lol.
Are there wire inputs/outputs, if not is it possible to add them.
Are there wire inputs/outputs, if not is it possible to add them.
I am pretty sure he`s not going to do wire addons and stuff cuz it screws with his server.
I have to requests 1st could you add a way to keep people from activating your rings for security and also could you make it so if you use a wire user on it it will just dial the nearest ring platform instead of going to the address screen because if your not going to add wire inputs then I can still activate them remotely. The other day I was showing off my "Magical Powers" with the user.
Well... there was no way to keep people from activating your rings in the series. Except for when they were inside a shielded ship. I guess you could make it so that if you're inside either CatDaemon's or aVoN's shields,(preferably both)you would need a special modulation code or something to get through. But it doesn't sound like it's worth it to me.
I'm going to post lua editing software for newbs who won't leave me alone about lua also i am going to repost this with cooler sound because the sound sucks
Spacetech's prop protection mod has "use" protection but donno if it works with this because i never tried yet.
How did you add sounds like in your video?
someone made sounds for this but i dont know where to install them?
someone made sounds for this but i dont know where to install them?
They are not ready for install yet, he only added them to catdeamon to listen to. And i really hope for wire inputs.
i want your babies. and, security would be nice, so either make the rings lockable, or have a shield immitator maybe? as rings cannot penetrate shields.
