Nice, did you use my sounds? also I just thought perhaps someone could edit the ring model and make a really thin version and switch the saw blade model with it, so it looks more realistic and like the rings are embedded into the ground :D
Spacetech's prop protection mod has "use" protection but donno if it works with this because i never tried yet.
Should work.
I'm going to post lua editing software for newbs who won't leave me alone about lua also i am going to repost this with cooler sound because the sound sucks
You do that - it doesn't currently have any sounds to begin with and I doubt you'd be able to add them yourself.
And yes Flyboi I used your sounds, they're great. Need to add them to the control panel now and see about a model.
Yay, My work is appreciated :D Also, do you think making a really thin ring model to change the saw blade with is a good idea? so it looks like the rings do on the series?

I don't really know - there's a lot of issues with regards to that (means you need more space etc). Just making the sawblade invisible is the best solution, as then it appears as if they're coming out of the ground which was the idea.
Yes I guess, but half the time when I do that I end up standing on top of the actual rings. (bad) So I thought If i edited the ring model and made it really thin and switch it with the saw blade so It looks like a ring that is in-bedded into the floor, (but isn't really) would be cool.
Can you add a bit of a delay between pressing button and ring so we can get to the rings :P

Watch the video on the last page.
Watch the video on the last page.
So when are you going to put that on the front page? :V
Watch the video on the last page.
About that, on the last bit it looks like the last two rings come out together, is this a bug or just an error with the video?

They come out slightly quicker because they seem to in the sound file.

They always look fairly evenly spaced in the show.
I don't think exact synchronisation matters all that much.
I don't think exact synchronisation matters all that much.
I agree, but I'm not only making this for me.
I've been playing around with shit, apparently if you select less than 1000 or more than 100 on the range slider it doesn't work properly, so I added a "find range" checkbox instead.
I changed the radius of teleportation as I noticed my friends were getting left behind rarely.
I changed a lot of other shit too but I can't remember any of it right now.
Will be released after I'm finished environment testing on a build server.
I don't think the last two rings are supposed to come out at the same time.
I can't find any actual footage of the show with the rings on youtube but I think this guy got it perfect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hMUAuPBg1c

They don't come out at the exact same time, and that sound is different to the one I have.
The point is, in that video and the show, they come out evenly spaced.
Why do you have to synchronize it exactly?
Especially if you don't think it is necessary.
Anyone tried to block the rings or grab them with the physgun? on my computer I get a blue screen each time I try. Is this normal?
Anyone tried to block the rings or grab them with the physgun? on my computer I get a blue screen each time I try. Is this normal?
Yes that is normal.
Why is that?
Don't grab them then they don't move anyway.
I've grabbed the rings with the physgun while they were moving and nothing bad happened...
could you put in it uses energy if life support is installed and make it more for the further it is.

Those rings seem alot more like Ori rings (well the sounds and animations atleast), with Goa'uld models. Oh also cat, I think you have got the ring sequence perfect so please Don't go screwing it up :D
Well, the guy who made that animation made like 3 others that were all Ori ring platforms.
Although I think the sounds in that video are slightly different from the ones he used in the ori video.
Is the next release going to have sound with it, Cat ??
The models look great, the sound is great too,(It IS the right sound, i checked)
But it would be nice if they were put together.

The next release will indeed have the sounds. I'm not really interested in modelling a ring transporter control panel, although if one was made I'd add it. I'll also do some ori rings if anyone has made models.

You're working in a shop. Your job is to help customers get things working.
A man walks in, slaps a product on the table and says "it doesn't work".
What do you do?
