Just updated the svn, same problem cant get cars working at all. [editline]1st November 2012[/editline] Dafuq, turns out i might have used the engines wrong XD Apparently the acceleration takes a value 0-100 and brakes too building a new test car lol edit: Ok tested and it works fine. I was using a 0-1 value as throttle before no wonder it didnt work lol btw shouldnt the engine stall if the gear is not on neutral and the engine is idling? At the moment it doesnt do that and you can just accelerate away which makes the clutch quite useless.
Hey, when I parent stuff your cannons shoot through it. Any chance you could fix it?
Hey, when I parent stuff your cannons shoot through it. Any chance you could fix it?
Parented props are no longer their own entity in the same way a normal prop is, it can't be fixed.
Sweps don't go through parented props.
Just gonna leave this here...
Just gonna leave this here...
Missiles first! , still sexy as hell though. :v:
Just gonna leave this here...
Everything great but weren't ACF weapons supposed to be generic? It's up to builders to modify the look of the gun. Another thought: swep?
Everything great but weren't ACF weapons supposed to be generic? It's up to builders to modify the look of the gun. Another thought: swep?
The whole point of having distinct ACF models is the ability to balance out the bulk and mass of a weapon in relation to its firepower. But if you're turning it invisible and building your own over it, do you really give three fucks about how it looks?
It's just strange that some of ACF guns were modified to match generic look. Suddenly, new model shows up and it's with magazine. There is no problem with it because it looks great. New weapon or replacement for existing model? Looks like bofors.
I'm encountering problems with the damage system and have tested AP and HE rounds and various types of guns. Props are not taking damage and I cannot figure out why or if another addon is conflicting with the damage system....do I need to enable it with a command?

I was debugging it with irontires before and I think kafouille is taking a look at it, so it's only a matter of time until he fixes it.
Noticed that props are not igniting. they used to ignite on fire when shot at with explosives in gm12.

It might be just me, but it seems like the reverse gear is broken on every gearbox... Gear 1-5/7>0 Gear 6/8<0 Final Gear>0 ...doesn't work. Just sometimes, when the vehicle is already moving backwards, it suddenly kicks in at a weird ratio : High RPM and high Torque (Going faster then the highest normal Gear :D ).

Nah, it all works fine. I can reach the speeds i want to reach, but only the reverse gear with the negative value doesn't work... :D
Yay engines, any chance we could get some two strokes in there, ooh and what about air/liquid cooled?
Noticed that props are not igniting. they used to ignite on fire when shot at with explosives in gm12.
On that note, the adding in of a "particles folder" seems to be the thing that breaks this. It tries to load from the particles folder the "fire particle" system, since the folder has priority in it's loading still it seems even though such a folder was removed in the latest gmod. Causing acf to break many particle handling system effects as a result of adding in a removed folder. Idk how easy it is to get acf to load its particle effects from it's own mod folder, but it should be done just to make everything cleaner/not mess up the original installation of Gmod with such weird errors. The way I discovered this is by blowing up explosive barrels, they call an error only when acf is installed. I looked up the error on google, and it spoke of the particle system not being there. The curious thing is that particle folder directory spoken of in the error report"doesn't exist" in gmod13, acf adds it in again but doesn't contain the files for fire particles.
The curious thing is that particle folder directory spoken of in the error report"doesn't exist" in gmod13, acf adds it in again but doesn't contain the files for fire particles.
I'm going to assume that the particle folder exists, but is stored inside the .gcf file as it's not something the user should be modifying. Maybe ACF stops the game from loading the folder from the gcf and therefore stops it from finding the particles that are supposed to be in there.

It tries to load the folder, doesn't see the fire particle handling system, and doesn't attempt to load gcf afterwords for some reason or another, likely bad error handling .
When i ran ACF on Gmod 13 it did not show up at all. Can someone help me???
Could you give the link?
https://github.com/falcqn/makespherical
Hey, when I parent stuff your cannons shoot through it. Any chance you could fix it?
Parent your stuff to the AMD64 Wiremod model, or the largish purple resistor Wiremod model, and weapons will hit your stuff again. Also on topic, where can we get the ACF tools for gmod13? For example, like the ACF Armor Weight tool? The cutting torch is just a hassle to try and use in it's place.
GravityHull breaks ACF? Someone explain to me how?
It might be just me, but it seems like the reverse gear is broken on every gearbox... Gear 1-5/7>0 Gear 6/8<0 Final Gear>0 ...doesn't work. If I put in the reverse gear (Gear with ratio set to -0.1 for example) and you set throttle to 100 the RPMs go up until the limit is reached but the wheels/vehicle just do not move. :S Realy annoying to always get out of the vehicle an pull it back with the physgun...
GravityHull breaks ACF? Someone explain to me how?
GravityHull works by localizing physics in a certain area above the prop it's working on, I assume that when an acf shell enters that area shit goes wrong.
I can't seem to load guns. Could someone give me a tutorial explaining basic set up of a weapon? And maybe something about the engines?
I can't seem to load guns. Could someone give me a tutorial explaining basic set up of a weapon? And maybe something about the engines?
Step 1, Use the adf tool to summon things. A gun Ammo box of appropriate caliber Step 2, use the adf tool to link things. Shoot gun with the right click. Shoot Ammo box with right click. "This creates a invisible loading chain for them. Step 3, wiring. Create a wire and input that "activates" the ammo box, this is crucial for loading guns. Then create a input and wire that fires the gun. That is all I have figured out.
