I hook all of that up, but the gun never loads.
If it is a cannon you might have to click it's reload function too.
Also, "active" on the ammo box must always be on in order for it to load from the box.
Idk if that doesn't fix it, then you have a failed install somewhere.
Ps changing the weight or physical properties of the gun, makes it not work.
Does anyone know where I could find an updated version of the ACF Weight Stool?
GravityHull works by localizing physics in a certain area above the prop it's working on, I assume that when an acf shell enters that area shit goes wrong.
Ah, I see, since it's all lua code something like that would happen.
Although, that actually gives me ideas for a form of armor plating for ACF vehicles... :v:
Hmm, anyone else getting effects which are entirely black?
Any sort of explosives for this mod? I want to make a torpedo of some sort.
I found out why the reverse Gear is not working.
Typicly you have a setup like this:
Engine --- Gearbox --- Differential --- Wheel
This is not working. You have to link up the gearbox directly to the wheels.
So if you do it the following way the reverse gear is working:
Engine --- Differential --- Gearbox --- Wheel
It seems that there is a bug where the differential ignores force in reverse direction.
Here's a question: at low speed, diffs don't work right. I.e., if i turn my wheel sharply to the left (like if parallel parking), I should have the right wheel go forwards X speed (which works) and left wheel go backwards a bit (which does NOT work). Instead it jerks and wants to go forward.
Not exactly urgent, but a curiosity I have noticed which affects low-speed stuff like tractors and offroading.

The best way is to set one of the values on the diff/transfer case to a neg, then activate said gear for reverse, plus you can have more than 1 reverse gear xD
Guys. I'm begging you. Please change the god damn names to lowercase! Here, have a program for windows that will allow you to do this with five clicks: http://www.febooti.com/products/filetweak/members/case/
Install it, press RMB on lua folder in ACF, go to "Case" tab, select on left side (under "Name") "lowercase", then check "Include subfolders" and press "OK". Done.

I've given up on trying to get them to do this and just run a rename script myself...
I can branch my lowercased version onto github if you want :v:
Which would make so hopefully it would be included and then you linux people and me wouldn't have to worry next version.
Putting a pull request for it in.

Ammo box linked up to a gun pointed straight at it. a high explosive round setting as well.
a bit inelegant and clumsy, but it proves reliable enough to use as defensive mines.
So.. ACF was mostly working here a few days ago. But now, it keeps deleting my contraption and outputs this into the console.

Idk what would make ACF -> make Gmod complain about psycho physics and eat everything, but I can't seem to reproduce this with anything else other than ACF. The test vehicle is just a derpy little test rig made of 5 props, not counting ACF parts, none of it parented or anything. I can throw the contraption all over, attach thrusters, hump it with ragdolls, nothing happens. If I turn on the engines and try to move forward, it gets deleted. Some older ACF tanks dupes now cause this to happen too. All other addons are disabled minus some tools for testing. Did a Gmod update cause this to start happening?
Sorry if i sound lke a lazy dumbass by not inquiring into it, but i really can't find anything. How do i make the guns work? I wire up a button to activate the ammo, wire up buttons to fire, reload, and unload.
I press unload first, for whatever reason. Then reload. I hear a reloading sound. And then i press fire, but nothing happens. When i hover my mouse over the gun it indeed indicates the weapon is loaded? Is there something i'm forgetting?
My drive wheels tend to jump around when being powered, how do I alleviate this? I've tried increasing weight and size and it doesn't seem to change much. I can't get past 20MPH as is.
Also wug, make sure you didn't change the weight on the ammo box or gun. That makes it not work for some reason.

Ever heard of MakeSpherical or LuaWheels ?
MakeSpherical makes my game rather unstable, can LuaWheels be used with ACF engines?
MakeSpherical makes my game rather unstable, can LuaWheels be used with ACF engines?
Yes they can, although it's a bit inconvenient...
ACF does not allow you to hook up props that are not plain...
So you will have to place another prop, adv. ballsocket this to the LuaWheel(s) and link it to the ACF Gearbox/Diff.
So no-one else is getting pure black effects? The textures are all there, it's just that they are entirely blackened.
-snip- I am retarded.
Anyone else have the straight transmissions output shaft break?
Any other transmission works fine...link up a straight trans to the same chassis with the same settings and apply 20% throttle...snap.
it would be cool if there is some kind of motorbike chain system which you can put after the gearbox, or just a special gearbox
I have some trouble but i don't know why.
I have the newest Wiremod (SVN) and the newest ACF Mod (SVN) but when i will fire a Weapon the bullet just fly about 5 meters. Whats wrong?
I had that problem myself, just change the ammo you're using's propellent value to something like 0.4 or 0.5 in thr acfmenu tool.
When I try to shoot any of the weapons I don't see or hear any effects and it doesn't destroy any props, but I do die when I stand in front of the weapon and shoot :^P. I did put in the scripts and particles folders in my garrysmod/garrysmod folder but it still doesn't work. Here is the console log if it helps; https://github.com/spartanobeana/ACF_Fail1/blob/master/gmodconsolelog.txt Any ideas? Thanks!
Edit: I removed the PewPew mod I had installed and it works now. Disregard!
I have a problem: the ACF chair and pod are broken. Everything else (sounds, guns, ammo, engines, transmission, etc) works great. Any ideas?
Only mods I'm running are ACF, wiremod, and a few stools (precision alignment, adv ball socket, etc).
EDIT: Problem solved. In the models folder, all the folders were lower-case except "Vehicle". Changed it to "vehicle" and it worked. (You only have to worry about capitalization for linux servers. Most of you won't have this problem)
So I tried to install this, put the folder in my addons folder and scripts/particles in gmod directory, and it doesn't show up in my game and it also seems to remove a bunch of other crap randomly from the spawn menu.
I'm having an issue with ACF that I hope can be resolved easily. I'm running the latest Git revision of ACF on my Linux server, and every few minutes an error appears in the console:
[ERROR] addons/acf/lua/entities/acf_gearbox/init.lua:392: attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil value
1. Act - addons/acf/lua/entities/acf_gearbox/init.lua:392
2. CalcRPM - addons/acf/lua/entities/acf_engine/init.lua:294
3. unknown - addons/acf/lua/entities/acf_engine/init.lua:186
Followed by 5-10 seconds of crippling server lag due to what appears to be a massive amount of usermessages (That's what netgraph is showing). If anyone has any information as to why this is happening or how I can remedy it, I'd be very appreciative if you were to provide some insight into the matter.
I know that missiles were in an early version of ACF, and I know the code for them still exists in the addon. (I found it) Does anyone know how to re-enable them? I believe they were removed from ACF because of balance, but I would love to try them out in singleplayer.
