I first started off with LightRP years and years ago, which was the first time I experienced Roleplay in a game before. I moved to DarkRP when I found a server called something like ZavvyRP, because no one really played lightRP that much anymore. I enjoyed it because it offered the ability to make custom jobs as a citizen, meaning you could be like a "Furniture Store Owner" or a "Construction Worker". 2 Years later, I started my own DarkRP server, called xxeon's RP. I liked it because I could easily edit jobs, shipments, models, ect. I now host a DarkRP Server Modified to be called EvolvedRP. I am determined to download this because I want to see how much different it will be to edit and implement in the upcoming Garrysmod 13.
DarkRP is just fun to fuck around and troll, only a few servers actually make DarkRP possible to actually roleplay properly. Most DarkRPs have like 1 retarded admin that barely ever comes on, and then everyone just minges and trolls. I think PERP is a better gamemode because it doesn't have retarded unrealistic jobs, and it's very advanced, and you can't just get like 5 million dollars in a day like DarkRP. That's my opinion.

I personally just join DarkRP servers when I am bored , I am more of a serious RP person , HL2RP etc. I can't wait for clockwork.
I just wish to see DarkRP be blacklisted from showing up the server list (you can still connect it) atleast a week. I want to see the wave of kiddies showing up in different servers, if it does (even though it will, just want to see how far it can go) hectic, then I'll stay quiet.
Other than that, did you fancied up the gui?
Edit: Not trying to be an asshole with the whole blacklist, I just want to see how will it go to at least have a break. Sorry.

This WHOLE thread is about people that are with or against DarkRP. You're arguing like cats and dogs but you aren't getting anywhere from it?
If people want to host DarkRP, they'll host DarkRP. All you need to do to stop going onto DarkRP servers is not press the 'Connect' button and you're suddenly DarkRP FREE!
Obviously DarkRP will be coming into Garry's Mod 13, not everyone wants it to but who cares? It's a roleplay gamemode. I'm sure those that like DarkRP don't like other roleplay gamemodes too.
Some people just don't seem to respect the fact that others have given up their time, created a gamemode from scratch and released it to the public so they can host it on their servers.
But as it seems from reading the whole of this thread, no one appreciates free coding anymore.
I know for a fact, if DarkRP stopped development, there would be hundereds of people complaining about this and Facepunch really would be swarming in with complaints.
So let's just leave DarkRP develop in its own ways, just to avoid the mass complaints of a sudden stop in development and turning into a Facepunch rage...
The problem is that there's 400+ DarkRP servers. 95%+ are empty and the others are non-serious minge orgy. Stop telling us to leave DarkRP. It's not that easy.
Imagine how good it wil be if it gets dropped and after 24.09.2012 FP will be flooded with complaints for atleast a month then things will clear after that. Only serious servers will get their DarkRP ported. But that won't happen, seeing even PERP got ported.
Then make something better... Get out of the Cops vrs Robbers Dark Age, and make something better.
All I have read in this thread is constant bickering about people who hate DarkRP. I'm going to have to side with GmodLUA on this argument. Hes right in some areas where we should let people host a gamemode they like and not limit them by blacklisting it.

Jokes on you, I joined a DarkRP server years ago (like 3 or 2, can't remember) and never did after that in those moments with gmod. PLEASE just do this for us, then we can finally shut up. I (for one) do not want to make RP gamemodes disappear completely in thinair, just thin them down a bit. We DO NOT need 1000 RP servers roaming around, 50 or 100 of those servers would be fine.
EDIT: When I mean blacklist, I mean not show it on the server list (when gmod 13 becomes released). Not from allowing you not to connect at all.

darkrp is about the unbalance, mass money collection, and so on.
DarkRP is a great gamemode. It's easy for players to learn and use and it's easy to admins to edit. Just because some kids make incredibly horrible design choices, especially conserning jobs and guns, does not mean the gamemode in itself is bad.
At vanilla, it is a simple, lite or semi-serious gamemode, it can be adapted to be a very serious game or, to be a total deathmatch.
I plan to make a server on Gmod 13, with DarkRP at it's core, when it launches, but It will be edited heavily and I will have several new additions to make to it, to create a Serious DarkRP Gamemode.
And yes, it can be done. Trust me, because I've done it before. All you need is a some time, beta testers, good admins and a lua coder and you'll make it a great server.

I agree with a number of the people who say DarkRP is old and outdated and probably could use a recode.
Falco, I would suggest releasing darkrp as a framework that allows for extensive modding to encourage more users to make their servers different
instead of having hundreds of absolutely identical servers.

Do you even know what a framework is? You can't install a framework on itself and expect it to work.
Yup, framework is similar to API (similar not the same). Tiramisu is a framework for example, so is OA.

personally i think fadmin was a shitty idea to begin with, not many people use it anyways.
i'm glad to see that you're trying to clean up the darkrp code, but i really think you'd be better off just getting a stable version for the beta and then cleaning up the code for later releases.
also, if you are going to be cleaning up stuff, why not recode the HUD entirely and give it a less shitty look

I already recoded the hud and in the process I made the health bar wider. You don't necessarily see much of recodes of background code.
