I finished a basic prop protection script last night, and the bank mod is missing a few minor pieces. Since I have tomorrow off I will be finishing and polishing things up tomorrow. Although I do not know what to start on next so maybe I can get some ideas flowing? I was thinking some sort of mini-game or objective based activity to start earning people cash? This should probably be something tied in to a skill that could be learned. For example fishing, fishing can be fun and later on can be used to rack up exp in some sort of fishing skill? Give me ideas and hopefully I will have a few ideas to mess around with tomorrow.

The banking mod is fully functional at the moment, still needs a little cleaning up but it officially works now!

The banks also save every time the game does, this means the worth/cost of a bank will always increase when a new player buys it out. This will eventually lead to thousand coin banks which can only be run by the true bank tellers of Community Roleplay.

The test server has been updated if anyone would like to try it out so far. I'm thinking some kind of cooking/fishing mod next? On a more small scale I am also thinking of adding a day/night clock, time on the server, afk kicker, and two more sections in the options menu including: the ability to change your player model, and the ability to turn off the bell noise every time you receive money from a purchased bank.

Someone gave me the idea of a train mod, I'm thinking about it but I'm not sure how to do it. It would be something like rendering train tracks where a player builds them which can interact with train carts that can be used for storage, transportation, or stealing from? This could turn out to be multi city maps(obviously small cities due to map size limits compared to game fps) which a player can connect for their own work. Or coal mines out in a field, ect, ect. Just thought of a couple ideas to stem off someones elses of a train mod and wanted to write them down.

Or you can do a multi-server network that transfers the player to another server when they board the train (GmTower)

That's an awesome idea. Maybe have train stations per other server, which you can either walk in and go or take the train and go. This way players can branch off of the train stations with private tracks or public ones that lead to other areas of the map. When I think about this train mod I think about it as a possible roleplay job just like the banking. You can pay to put down tracks and buy trains that you own, then either set train fees or make them free to get players to come by your "side of the map" or whatever you have going on in game.
This whole train mod will be a big learning experience for me though so don't expect this to be the next mod, and if it is it will be extremely basic and prototype. It will be a learning experience mostly because I have never worked with meshes or matrixes before and I assume that would be the best way at creating "lag free" train tracks.

This is the current list of suggestions and ideas from the people of this thread. This should help with people not having to re-read through everything to see ideas. I listed them from first to last and that is most likely the order I will work on them unless people are more interested in a specific idea first and want to see it implemented.
Trains can be achieved with map entities too, just like rp_townsend.

I'm not making this gamemode map dependent, I think it's kind of dumb.
I don't think banks should always be for sale.
Also, if you have a fee for using them, it should only be on deposit, and let withdraw be free.
Bankers could be paid part of the fee as commission and have a rate as well.
And I'd make the fee be a percentage up to some static amount. Like, 3% (rounded up to nearest whole (unless you plan on having cents) up to 50$

Anyone like this kind of stuff? Banking skill is working, exp can be gained per client transaction at your bank. I'm thinking something like having possible abilities with higher levels in things. High banking level could be something like:
exp - ability
1,000 - Change the bank deposit fee.
6,000 - Rent out banks for extended periods of time, not allowing others to purchase it.
20,000 - Allow player to craft "Touch Screen Banking Card"
(The "Touch Screen Banking Card" could be the beginning to the inventory mod. The first item to be useable, dropped, traded, ect. Using it with a credit card reader hooked up to a players store for example, could allow the shopper to pay for certain items in the store without the player being on or having to use cash. This could also branch into a thieving skill, which would allow you to pickpocket players for cash. This would give an incentive to owning a "Touch Screen Banking Card" which could only be made by a player with a high enough banking level or sold to by someone who received it from a high level banker.)
What about a cell phone mod, like the addon CellMod that hasn't been updated for years, you could create your own cell phone service and use it primarily to charge people, build towers, ect. Also, coverage in some areas could be limited? Data plans
There should be should be a needs system. Every once in a while, the player is required to go to the bathroom, eat, sleep, drink, etc.

A good example is the addon "Lua Rollercoasters". If you don't know what it is, it is a rollercoaster builder and renderer. Maybe you could do something somewhat-similar to this on the way it renders the tracks using nodes.

I feel like that is just annoying more than anything. I mean what does it really add to the gameplay besides being in the middle of something and suddenly you realize you need to eat sleep and piss?

I was sort of thinking for every transaction:
buyer pays fee for transaction
teller pays smaller fee for transaction
to discourage teller from using own bank because it costs money for him to use it
The bank subtracts the fee, then adds it to the owner. So infinite money is not possible, and the banker gets his fee back when depositing so he actually does not pay the fee to use his own bank. I have the next two days off so I will try to get some good work in tomorrow morning. Like I said before I will be re-structuring the gamemode and then I will start on some type of leveling system maybe? I'm not sure yet what I will start with first, it might actually be some kind of "time on the server" mod that can be used with other things as well.
Also the site is awesome vman, I really appreciate your time to help with that. I will be on there for the next few minutes adding forums and sections.

Basically all there is is a bank so you can really only deposit, withdraw money. I'm currently going to be working on a skills system which should add a little game play.
I'm curious if you have made any progress over the week.

I chipped out three teeth and I'm going to have to work more often because of it. This is to pay for my dentist bills and what not. So expect progress to be quite slow for the time being.
The server will always be paid for once a month by me to show my support to this project and that I am still working on it.
I will start to work on this project a little every morning when I have time. I will not be putting the files up on github for a day or two because I still need to change some things.
