I think you guys take this stuff too seriously. Zoey, i love your sweps, especially the ins sweps. Kermite, you made good sweps, i didnt like them as much but i can see why others loved them. I know shit about lua. i cant code. but even if i could i would rant on about others. i mean come on its GARRYS MOD. If some people want to gawk about shiny sweps or if they just want a simple swep its their choice. i dont see why everyone is like OMFGYURSWEPSSUCKSOIWILLFLAIMYUUU!!!!!!!!!!! Because you can obviously install addons correctly, i've not had a problem with any of her INS or MW2 Sweps.

I've enjoyed messing around with your Swep packs. There were many different weapons to choose from although they were copied and pasted on a simple base. I think it was a good start you've done hexing and porting the weapons. The file sizes were too big though and it made the games take longer to load, however, I look forward to seeing your own Swep base soon. Take as much time as you need and remember to try and keep the size of the files low.:smugdog:

I'm trying to introduce this idea I had to allow for a customizable gun, with like different attachments and things. Due to time restraints, I was unable to build a swep base in time for this so I used(with permission) Worshipper's Mad Cow's Weapon Base. To access the different attachments you hit e and a menu comes up giving you all the options to change your gun attachment. Also, different attachments give you different weapon stats. For instance, the silencer will lower recoil but drop damage. Keep in mind this is still a beta and the final release will include many more new weapons and different attachments such as jungle clips and forearm grips. Also, I know the LAM currently sucks. I'm going to work on a better method if i can but i will not be physically at a computer for the next month so development will be slow.

This pack will be huge if you are including more than 5 guns. Thats because you are using one model per attachment, from what I can see. I recommend you try to draw the first person attachments clientside.

No, not really. He could be using body groups, or just attaching it to the model, which he probably is.

This is an idea I had a while ago. But I can't model or script well enough to actually make something decent. I could probably do the bodygroup changes, but I would want to make a realistic-esque bullets, which I can't do :v:

Uh not to break you guys dreams and shit, but you cant just lace up two models using scripting to "attach" stuff. View models don't work like that. You have to use separate models for every attachment. Secondly, no the file size will not become "huge" after five models. It works in an adjusted linear fashion.
So that means a general filesize formula of y size of file in megabytes for x number of weapons is something like y= 13X + 130. Divide that number to get you an average size of the compressed size. So in that case 7 weapons would total ~221 mb but zipped down would be ~73 mb. Not a ridiculous filezise considering previous packs were in the range of 150+mb.

Surely if he can do it with a few stock props, you could do it with a few custom models.
They did it by adding new bones to the model through scripting. A good idea, but I don't know how to implement that into these models seeing as they came from cs and cs uses a very different system of bones. Again I don't pretend to be a great coder so maybe its possible, but I have no idea nor drive to implement that.
I remember looking forward to these weapon packs. Now it's just trolls trollin'.

No they didnt "ADD" new bones, They used CURRENT Existing bones and offsets...
