I grow watermelons myself out in my garden, and I'm pretty sure they don't start off like that.
You should try scaling the melon model from it's starting point to ending, so you can actually tell when they're ready.
Also they're like, attached to what looks like vines but on the ground. You could probably create a model for it.
I think that you should also create a sort of old looking watermelon texture, make it look like it's not as juicy and fresh. I don't think a melon would look like that growing in those conditions.

The host was under attack and they changed the IP on the machine i'm on. You should run ipconfig /flushdns

We've since changed the HUD, didn't want it to look too much like fallout.
